Call your husband.

In the room, two young police officers sat in front of Miranda and Nancy and stared blankly at them. They did not appear like they were going to question them.

"Sir, it was that woman who made the first move. We were merely defending ourselves," Nancy broke the silence.

"Silence! You're not in the position to tell me about that," one of the police reminded Nancy.

Nancy frowned and gazed at the police officer in annoyance. Right when she was about to speak, Miranda grabbed her hand and shook her head, signalling for her to sit down.

"We were at the police station. If we caused trouble here, we would be the ones at fault." Miranda whispered.

Although Nancy was very impulsive, she would always listen to Miranda. When she got her hint, she said nothing more, even though she was angry.

After a long while, the door of the interrogation room opened. Two police officers came in and walked toward Miranda and Nancy.

"Do you see the bruises on my friend face? This woman in there did this!" Nancy spat.

"Call your family to bail you out," The policewoman said.

"Hey! Sit down." Miranda gazed at Nancy with concerned eyes.

"Launce is a scumbag...." Nancy uttered. "What should we do now? Call your husband." Nancy said earning a displeasure face of Miranda.

"Well never mind...." Nancy didn't press Miranda any further. To be honest, it would be embarrassing for Miranda to let her husband see her like this.

"I think I should call Austin" Nancy took out her phone and dialed Austin's number.

As soon as Austin arrived at the police station. He walked towards Launce and the woman.

"Austin, Long time no....."

Austin then punched Launce square in the face which caught him completely off guard and sent him tumbling to the floor with a bruise on the corner of his mouth.

Launce looked extremely pathetic as he held a hand over his bleeding lips.

Being the coward that he was, Launce didn't even dare stand up for himself and simply stared at Austin in sheer terror.

Miranda pulled Austin's arm and said, "That's enough! Are you trying to blow things out of proportion here?"

-----

"Thank you, buddy" Nancy sighed. "You are cool" Nancy giggles.

"Nancy, you are still the same. You had a bad taste in man" Austin turned and said.

"Why I feel so....."

"Miss Miranda." Miranda was interrupted by Steven.

Miranda froze when she saw Steven, she looked around automatically searching for Richard but she didn't see him.

Richard must have known that Miranda had gotten in trouble.

"Miss Miranda, Dire for Fuller is waiting for you in the car," Steven said politely.

Miranda's heart sank. She felt extremely uneasy.

"Austin, Thank you. Nancy, Call me later." Miranda waved her hand. She had no choice but to follow Alvin.

"Miss Miranda, please get in the car." Steven opened the door for Miranda.

Miranda stood beside the car, hesitating. How did he know that I was arrested?

Miranda didn't dare to think too much and got into the car. When she saw Richard sitting there, his expression cold, she knew that he was extremely angry.

"Are you a child, Miranda? You just get arrested and ask someone else to bail you out. You can just do whatever you want. right?" Richard said.

"I am sorry," Miranda apologised softly.

"I am your husband. You don't need other men to bail you out." Richard frowned.

Why would he say that she didn't treat him as her husband? He wasn't even a real husband to her, she was just trying to fill up the gap left by Levi who was supposed to be married to him. So why should she treat him as her husband?

"Steven, drive us to Henry's hospital," Richard ordered.

"Richard, I am fine. I will put ice later." Miranda hurriedly said earning a glance from Richard.

On their way back home, she sat uneasily on the passenger side of the car. Sometimes, she looked straight ahead and at other times, she looked out of the window, but she tried as much as possible to avoid eye contact with Richard.

----

Emily was confused when Miranda and Richard returned home together. It was late.

"Miranda, are you ok? Have you hurt your face?" Emily stared at Miranda's face, with a look of concern.

"Im ok thanks, Emily." She cleared her throat.

Miranda went to her room and freshened up. She rolled her bed but couldn't fall asleep. She got up and walked out. When she walked past the study, she realized the lights were on. She stopped at the entrance of his study.

The door to the study was ajar. Richard was seated on the sofa with a pile of documents in front of him.

Miranda's footsteps might've startled him as he raised his head and met her gaze. "It's so late. Don't you go to bed?" Miranda had asked Richard the question subconsciously,
