Are you pregnant?

The sunlight was dancing all over the room when she woke up. It cheered Miranda up to begin a day. As soon as she got changed, she went downstairs. Emily was serving breakfast. Seeing Marinda, Emily said, "Miranda, I have to visit my hometown. I might stay there for three days."

"Okay. Take care" Miranda said happily.

Richard frowned and looked at Miranda who had the happiest smile. "Why aren't you at the party yesterday?"

"She was sick" George raised his glass and had a sip.

Richard remained silent. He simply raised his glass with his slender fingers and silently drank his water.

Miranda took a sip of porridge and checked the time. "Oh, I should be late! I am off now."

George looked at his brother's expression when he saw off the girl, sighed and then said, "Bro, If you can take me off the business trip. I will tell you why sister looks so happy."

"Save it." Richard glanced at the text on his phone, looking annoyed.

"Oh really! She was not sick yesterday." With the bargaining chip under his control, George was scared of nothing.

Richard's face sank and he said, "Tell!"

"Yesterday I saw a sister in front of the pharmacy. She accidentally dropped her bag.... "

"Stay to the point." George reminded him coldly.

"You are going to be father," George said.

"Eh?" Richard was bewildered by his brother's statement. "What did you say?"

"Sister is pregnant," George replied.

Richard wiped his lips hurriedly with the napkin, stood up and headed off.

Rachel hung up the phone and took the document to Miranda "Miranda, send this document to the Director's office."

After finishing her task at hand, Miranda left her seat with the document. With a faint smile on her lips, Miranda quickly took the elevator to the 12th floor.

Passing by the simple corridor, Miranda arrived at the Director's office. Then, she knocked on the door.

"Come in." A low voice came from the other side of the door.

After entering the office, Miranda placed the document on the table. She said politely, "Mr. Fuller, This is the document you asked for."

Without looking at the document, his gaze fell on her.

Richard could see Miranda from head to toe due to the short desk. Furthermore, she stood at a distance away from the desk.

Knocking the cigarette on the edge of the ashtray, Richard said indifferently, "Why didn't you attend yesterday's party?"

"Didn't I tell you before? I was sick." Miranda smiled.

He rose and stood in front of her. With a calm expression, he asked, "Are you pregnant?"

Miranda was stunned for a while before she slowly asked, "What if I am?." Her tone was composed, making it hard to tell what her true thoughts were.

"Abort it," Richard said heartlessly.

Abort it?

He's truly ruthless. He doesn't even want his child.

She blocked out the mess in her mind and asked, "Why? Don't you want a child of your own?"

Without a second thought, Richard answered, "I'll get someone to arrange for a doctor's appointment. You'll go to the hospital and get an abortion."

Miranda did not know how to describe the emotions surging within her. Sadness overwhelmed her, leaving an uncomfortable feeling in her heart.

"If there's nothing else, I will take my leave." She stopped in her tracks upon reaching the office door. Turning back to look at Richard, she said,

"Rest assured. If I'm pregnant, I'll make a trip to the hospital personally and get an abortion."

Richard narrowed his eyes as he watched the office door close.

Villa....

Miranda got herself a drink from the fridge. She barely took a sip when the drink was taken away.

Miranda looked at George strangely. "What's wrong?"

George handed her a glass of warm milk. "You're pregnant, drink this instead. You shouldn't be drinking cold drinks anymore."

"I am not pregnant." Miranda snapped. Her eyes were so intent, that one could almost feel her seething look pierce through their heart.

"Okay...." George paused. "But I saw the receipt...."

Miranda threw the pillow on the sofa before she stormed out of the living room in anger.

Miranda rolled on the bed but she couldn't fall asleep. She was so annoyed that she didn't want to stay in the room any longer. She went downstairs and was about to drink some ice water to calm herself down. Then she saw him, the man who was supposed to restrain himself and sleep well, sitting on the sofa in the living room, looking at her with a dejected face.
