Friends and Foe

THS Shore had returned back to the the Bican system. It was currently awaiting for clearance from the station authority to dock. After which, this wretched mission would be officially over.

As the Shore slowly made it's way over to the inner system, it approached one of the military space station that was orbiting Bican IV. This was one of the biggest shipyards and ports where Ships the size of Shore could be docked for regular maintenance.

As soon as the Shore Docked with the station, a few onboard officers brought Kita out of his Cell where he had spent the past few months. They put him on a vehicle and took him towards one of the Hanger bays.

When they reached the hanger bay, Kita saw that a group of Military Police officers were waiting in a group. Their shuttle was parked behind them. The vehicle he was on stopped a but away from them. The officers in charge of Kita took him over to the MPs.

"Officer Jhakon, Here's Dr. Kita." The officer in charge spoke to the other party.

"Thank you.", The guy named Jhakon acknoledged Him and then gave a side look.

Two officers who were standing beside came forward and took off the handcuff that Kita was in, Instead of those Handcuffs they put him in new ones that belonged to the Military police.

As soon as they were done with that, they quickly took him inside their own shuttle.

As Kita entered the shuttle, he was guided towards a simple looking cell, He could tell that it wasn't meant for holding anyone for too long. It was adequate for transportation.

He knew his trial would be held withing the week. So he looked forward to whatever his future held for him.

The shuttle soon took off from the shore and headed somewhere. There was no way he could tell where they were taking him. But he could geuss.

The Bican system was a section of the arcorn military. There were 7 planets in total that had been colonized for different purpose. Bican IV for example was where all the shipbuilding related stuff happened. It was under the jurisdiction of the Arcorn Navy.

But this wasn't where they would take him. As there was no point in it. He would probably be taken to Bican III. That was where all the stuff related to military police happened. That was also where his trial would be held. So they would probablyt ake him there and stuff him in some prison for the remainder.

He already knew what was gonna happen after that. Thanks to Dr. Kbom pulling some strings, he was gonna be kicked out of the military with a red mark on his record. That would make sure, he couldn't get in ever again.

Kita didn't mind that. He didn't plan on serving anymore anyway. He was gonna get out of this system as soon as he could. After all, he didn't want anyone to find out about his secrets. That was the easiest way to make more enemies.

He had a long time to think about what he'd do. He had already planned a few destinations for his upcoming voyage. There were a lot of mysteries to uncover, there was a lot to see. Life was too short to see the whole galaxy, But he was gonna make the most of it.

The shuttle soon landed on Bican III as he guessed. It landed in some MP base. They took him to a cell that was a bit bigger than his last one. Even if he had committed a grave crime, he was still someone with authority. So the MPs couldn't mistreat him even if they wanted to.

His cell had some common accommodation. But one thing that he sorely lacked was a connection to the galactic net. He wished they'd give him access to a Comm or something. He was bored out of wits these past few months.

But all of this was gonna end soon. So he looked forward to that.

A few days after Kita was transferred over from the Shore, He received a visitor. He moved to a visitation room. He saw a man in a fitting suit sitting behind a table. He didn't know him. But he had an idea on who he might be.

As the man saw him enter the room, he stood up and looked at him.

"Mr. Thiels, I'm your Lawyer Peter Hoove. Dr. Kbom recommended me.", The Man introduced himself with a smile.

So he was Kita's defense lawyer huh. Dr. Kbom must have hired him. Kita walked to table and shook his hand with peter.

"Hello Mr. Hoove. I hope you're having a great day.", Kita greeted him in a polite tone.

"Just another Tuesday.", Peter said with the same smile plastered on his face.

They both sad down opposite to each other.

"I understand Dr. Kbom has given you the TLDR for what to expect?", Peter asked.

"Yes, I know the gist of it."

"Great. Then I don't need to explain further. Just need you sign here, and Here.", Peter passed a tablet over and guided Kita on where to sign.

After Kita signed and handed over the table peter took a final look at it before putting it away.

"Now that that's done, let me tell you the details. The date of your trial has already been fixed. It's gonna be overseen by a panel of judges. But the decision is gonna be made by the council. Dr. Kbom will handle that part. All you need to be careful about is if someone is asking some unnecessary questions. Although I don't like it, there are eyes on you. Some may try to use the trial to get to you."

"I know, I have many enemies. People who don't like what I've acheived. Don't worry, they haven't been able to do anything till now, they won't be able to do anything now."

"That's reassuring. I'll see you in court."
