CHAPTER EIGHT - CHEST PAINS

Yi Chen loses consciousness and after some time it looks like he is waking up, but not on the ground he fell.

Yi Chen "oh goodness, I'm exhausted, my whole-body aches from head to toe" he whined. And did someone take the roof off...why does it feel like the entire sky is right above me". He opens his eyes and the sky is above him, he sits up "huh...I'm outside...how I'm I outside" feels a sharp pain on his shoulder "ahh" he places his hand on the origin of the pain, takes it off to see blood. "I am bleeding what the heck" notices that his outfit had changed, he was now wearing a navy blue traditional Hanfu clothing, a navy-blue robe as the outer layer and a white robe as the inner layer. He was confused, what was going on. He looked around and it seemed like he was at the bottom of a cliff, and in front of it was a dense looking forest. Chen moaned in pain, then he began to hear voices, they were coming from the top of the cliff. He looked up and saw a man aiming an arrow at him, he stayed still watching him, and the man fired the arrow. Luckily, he dodged it and then realised that the man was after his life. He immediately started to run, heading to the forest. Four more archers moved forward and joined the first guy, shooting at Chen, who is running for dear life. He was lucky and made it into the forest. Trees shielded him from another arrow wound. Then he sat down leaning against a tree, and was breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath. "What was that who are those dudes...where do I know them from...why are they shooting at me". Chen had so many questions that he needed answers to, but he soon realised he would have to find answers later. If those people really want him dead, they are probably looking for him right now, no time to waste, he has to get to safety first. Chen started walking, he didn't know in what direction he should go but decided to just keep on going straight. And with each passing minute he became weaker, walked slower and the pain grew. He decided to stop and take a look at the injury. He looked at it and that spot was swollen and the areas around it was purple. The arrow was poisoned, Chen accepted his fate and rested comfortably on the tree.

Chen chuckles "so this is the end, this is how I die. Without achieving anything, without seeing my family...without knowing where the heck I am" coughs blood "my life sucks" he thought to himself

The five archers arrive on horses.

Chen "here to make sure I die huh"

One archer ready to shoot him again

Chen "oh come on...can't you let me die with just this pain...why do you want to torture me" he thought

The archer was about to shoot when another arrow from behind struck his neck. The other four turned around and three more arrows were fired at three of them killing them on the spot. This archer was a woman. The last rider tried to flee, but she was quick and caught him. He immediately committed suicide on the spot, and she threw him away. The woman walked to Chen and stood there and looked down on Chen.

Chen "ah...a woman…a savior, thank goodness. Why is she just standing there...looking at me.... with those eyes. Those beautiful black marble-like eyes...pretty but full of hate...ahhh" he felt a sharp pain in his chest "the poison is spreading, hurry up and save me" loses consciousness.

He wakes up in his grandma's house "finally, I'm awake...what a freaking dream" he stands up and goes to kitchen. He gets there and there was no kitchen "where is the Kitchen? hold up" realises something and looks at his shoulder, the wound had been bandaged. "This is not grandma's house" he steps back "then what is this place and why does it look so much like grandma's" he was confused. He heard voices coming from what he knew to be the living room. He got there and saw two women; it looked like one of them was relaying a message to the other, It seems she is superior. After relaying the message, the girl left. Now he was alone with the second lady, whose hands are folded, and her back is turned against him. She was wearing a black Hanfu clothing with a large silver butterfly embroidered on its back.

Chen "umm excuse me...but who are you and where I'm I"

The Lady turned.

Chen's eyes widened in amazement "who are you? (Single laugh) more like give me your number" he thought, "wait, what is wrong me" because that was unlike him "either way she is gorgeous, so beau...." begins to feel a sharp pain in his chest, he grabs the area "what is this pain, do I still have poison in my body. Even if I did, my shoulders should hurt, not my chest...right?" he begins to feel dizzy "not again" he collapses.

Chen wakes up the next morning in a traditional style bed chamber. "Huh where I'm now"

A girl comes in carrying a tray with a bowl of warm water and a towel.

Chen "who is she"

She sees that he is awake and immediately drops the tray on the table and runs out.

Chen "why did she runaway"

The maid soon returns with 3 others. All of whose faces were familiar to Chen. 2 of them were male and the third person was a female. The female came and sat next to him. Chen looked at them and how they were dressed. He was confused. The female that sat next to him was Mrs Wang, the other two were De Guo and that Doctor from the hospital. Why are they dressed like that.

Chen tries to call her name (Mrs Wang) but what came out instead is Ai.

Queen Suyin (AKA Mrs Wang) "yes my love"

Chen ("Mrs Wang") Ai ("Mrs Wang") "Ai...who the hell is Ai, why can't I say her name and how I'm I her love" Chen tried so hard to say her name but each time all that came out was 'Ai'. He gave it one last shot ("Mrs Wang") "Ai"

Queen Suyin "yes I can hear you...what is that you want my love"

Chen ("Mrs Wang") Ai {Ai means loving}

Queen Suyin "save your strength love, we'll talk about it later"

The guy with De Guo's face finally speaks.

De Guo "will he be alright, Physician Wu"

Chen "physician?"

Physician Wu (AKA Doctor) "hopefully he'll be fine. With enough rest and care the prince is bound to make a steady recovery"

Queen Suyin "thank goodness" happy

De Guo "it's quite fortunate that Dai Yu performed first aid when she saved, if not goodness knows what state he'll be in right now"

Physician "true"

Chen "Dai Yu, who is Dai Yu"

Dai Yu walks in

Chen "it's the girl that saved me...she is Dai Yu"

Dai Yu "we need to go, it's already time for the morning assembly, and we need to be there before the emperor" speaking to the Queen Su Yin and Prince De Guo.

Chen "did she just say emperor...hold up, is that what all this is, did I go back in...aghh" he moaned in pain and places his hand on where it hurt, his chest.

Queen Su Yin "what's wrong" worried.

Chen "it's that pain again...what is up with that"

De Guo "what's wrong" asking the physician

Physician Wu "ummm.... I think it'll be best we leave the prince alone to rest"

Queen Su Yin " Yes, that would be best"

Physician Wu "if you need anything your highness this maid is standing outside your chamber" referring to the maid from earlier.

Queen Su Yin I'll see you later love" kisses his forehead and leaves, the others follow after her.

After they left, Chen sat up on impulse and completed his sentence, but says it out loud this time "I've travelled back in time" shocked.
