Ling Lin's Injuries

"You b*stard, you just hit me! Let's see how you take this one!"

Sun Che held the football in his hands and glared fiercely at Ling Lin, who was lifelessly laying on the ground. He felt a great sense of relief when he saw the latter trying to crawl away. To escape

He thought about what his mother had said about how this b*stard was trying to steal his father away from them and his heart slowly filled with malice. He carried the football and walked far away. He placed the football on the ground, aimed it at Ling Lin's head, and kicked it aggressively. Then, he instructed the nanny to pick up the football for the cycle to repeat itself.

Lu Li sat on the side and watched the scene unfold without any intention of stopping it.

He was the one that took Ling Lin back to the Lu family. When Lu Nan heard about this, she immediately came over to see if the child looked like her husband. The more Lu Nan looked at Ling Lin, the more she saw the resemblance. The more similarities she found, the more hatred she grew. Her nails scratched the child's delicate face in spite.

Ling Lin felt the pain and bit Lu Nan. Lu Nan pushed him against the wall and knocked him out. However, no one bothered sending him to the hospital. They only asked someone to check if he was alive and to treat his wounds briefly before leaving him where he was.

Lu Li wanted him dead, and so did Lu Nan. She chose to believe that this was Sun Yue's child.

"What are you doing?"

Pei Xin and Lu Huai saw this scene as soon as they entered the room. She looked at Ling Lin and felt her heart break into a million pieces. She quickly walked over and hugged him in her arms.

The moment she stopped moving, Sun Che's football hit her hard on the back.

"Stop!" Lu Huai's voice made Sun Che — who was about to pick up the football and continue his assault — shiver in fear. He froze on the spot. He was usually afraid of nothing. The only thing that had made him shiver in fear was his uncle, Lu Huai.

Lu Li knew that Pei Xin would come, but he didn't expect Lu Huai to be there as well. He wanted to see Sun Che torture Pei Xin and her son until he was satisfied before making a move. Before any of that could happen, Lu Huai's words scared him out of his chair.

"H-hey! You've been coming home a lot lately."

Lu Huai ignored him and walked over to where Lu Li had been sitting. He waited for Xu Nuo to wipe the seat clean with an alcohol wipe before sitting down.

Helping Pei Xin stop Sun Che's evil deeds could be seen as him going far and beyond.

"Mommy, you're here!" Ling Lin felt a warm embrace and opened his eyes. His gaze was blurry and his voice was weak.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have left you alone at home. It's all my fault!" Pei Xin fell into a huge self-reproach. She hugged Ling Lin tightly in her arms and got up to leave.

Even though she wanted to kill Lu Li and Sun Che, it was obvious that Ling Lin needed to go to the hospital first.

"Where do you think you're going?" Lu Li realized that the person he had waited for was planning to leave. He didn't care that Lu Huai was still sitting on the side and quickly blocked Pei Xin's path.

Pei Xin raised her head and looked straight into his eyes with a piercing gaze. "Get away from us!"

Pei Xin had never looked at Lu Li like this before, nor had she ever spoken to him like this. She was even daringly doing it in front of Lu Huai! 

The two people Lu Li didn't like feeling inferior to were Lu Li and Pei Xin.

Therefore, even when he was faced with such a fierce gaze, he still did not back down. "Did I say you could leave?"

Pei Xin took a deep breath and held Ling Lin in her arms. She didn't want to be involved with Lu Li.

Lu Li sneered. "And?"

"And this." Pei Xin slammed into Lu Li and knocked him away. 

"Once you leave this house, the Lu family will never let you off the hook!" Lu Li's voice boomed from behind her. Pei Xin knew that he wasn't lying, so she anxiously and subconsciously looked at Lu Huai.

Their eyes met, and Lu Huai raised his eyebrows. "Xu Nuo, send the child to the hospital."

"Lu Huai don't you dare meddle in my business!" Watching Xu Nuo help Ling Lin, Lu Li was so angry that he called Lu Huai by his name.

Lu Huai frowned, and the bitterness in his voice increased. "Do you want me to personally call the police to arrest you after you die in the Lu family?"

Lu Li had no choice but to force himself to calm down. He believed that Lu Huai could do it. Once Lu Huai calls the police on his brother, even Lu Yu would not be able to save him. Although Lu Yu was the patriarch, Lu Huai was the one who was in power.

Xu Nuo took the child and nodded at Pei Xin before rushing to the hospital.
