Chapter 24: Talia Poisoned?

"You ok Talia? You don't look so good." "Haa….Ha…I will be fine until we get home I hope." I said in a strained voice. Jay felt my head and apparently I had a fever. "If it gets any higher I will stop this carriage ok?" I nodded. I saw the kids worried faces as well. Then I just closed my eyes.

We finally got back and had the kids rush in to get a doctor ready for when I got inside. "

After we got inside, the doctor was waiting for us. We laid her on the couch in the parlor room. "She has a fever. I don't know what else she didn't tell me." "Princess Talia can you hear me?" She nodded. "I am going to touch your body you tell me if something hurts ok?" I nodded again. He pushed on my stomach and I moaned. "Does that hurt?" "I have to take a toxin test. I think she might have been poisoned." He took some blood from me and tested it right there. "Yep I was right. she was poisoned. Luckily she got here today or she wouldn't be here tomorrow. I have an antidote for it with me." He got the medicine and injected it into me. I flinched from the needle then calmed down a bit. "Ok take her to her room. She should be fine. I'll get you some herbs to give her with her food." "Yes sir." He carried her to their room and laid her down to rest after he helped her change. Then he went out for a few minutes and told the kids that she will be fine to go do what they normally do. They nodded and listened. Jay went back to sit with Talia.

The next Day Talia woke up and felt someone holding her hand. She looked and saw Jay sleeping at her side like he always is by her side. She smiled. I rubbed Jay's hair to let him know I was awake. "Oh hello sleeping beauty. How are you feeling?" "Much better. I don't remember what happened?" "The doctor said you were poisoned. He said another day and you wouldn't be here." "Oh well I'm glad I made it." "Yeah us too. I've sent a letter to the king while you were sleeping to let him know the situation and maybe help us out." I tried sitting up but I felt dizzy still so I laid back down. "Don't try to get up. The doctor said you would feel a little dizzy when you woke up." "Now you tell me. How are the kids? Did they eat the same thing as me?" "I had the doctor check them and me. we are all fine. We couldn't check Arion but he's not here. I sent him and Eve's family the same letter." "Thanks. If I am better by the time they are still looking I'll help." "Just be careful ok? Wouldn't it be great if one of your spirits could help right now?" "ha ha very funny. I can't control when they come. They come and go as they please. Speaking of spirits one is here now." "Ok I'll come back in a bit." "Ok thanks tell the kids I'm fine and awake." "Sure." Once he left the spirit started talking to me. It was an elf spirit. "Hello Princess Talia." "Hello and what might your name be?" "My name is Keijo nice to meet you. I guess it would if I were alive." "Ok what is it you need to tell me?" "Oh right sorry. I was at the party floating around when I saw someone put something in a drink." "Wait you the person poisoning me?" "Yes but before I could say anything you drank it and I disappeared. I decided to come to you to check on you hoping you were alive to tell you. I used to work for the same king. I died about 5 years ago a carriage accident." "Oh I'm sorry you looked really young. Yeah well I was only in my 30's anyway the person who poisoned you was not your uncle and is family so that's a relief. As for who did it, look for your cousin Ave. He either did it or had someone do it. I don't know if he will tell you or not but I can show you evidence when you need it. After all that I will need your help to cross over." "Of course. Thanks for your help." Then he disappeared.

(knock Knock) "Come in." It was Jay to give me my medicine. "Hey I got some news Jay. Your joke came through. That ghost came to tell me he saw who put the poison in my cup. He said either Ave did it or he hired someone. Most likely he did it. He said there was evidence if we needed it. He can point us in the right direction." "Well that's a relief." He game me my medicine with some porridge and said, "The Arion and Eve's family are on the way here. They wanted to help us investigate." "Ok when they get here I'll call the spirit for his help." Once I was done I laid back down and Jay felt my head. "Well your fevers down quite a bit. Still have a slight one. Try to get some rest ok? I'll have someone check on you once in awhile." "Sure." I closed my eyes and waited.

Finally I woke up then heard noises outside. "Ok you all can come in." "Sorry for waking you sister." Said Indigo. "Its fine." I called the spirit's name and he came. "They are here for the evidence. They can't see you so I don't see how you can help." "Actually I can. You got a pen and paper?" "Can someone get me a pen and paper please?" "My brother Derion got me a pen and paper." The Spirit had me write down the evidence and where to find it. "Thank you when I am better I will call you again." "Thank you. I hope it all works out." "Thanks." "Here is what and where the evidence is. Can…Never mind go ahead." "What is it Talia?" said Jay. "I was going to ask if Eve and one of my brothers can stay but they probably want to help too." "No its ok. I planned on staying here anyway to make sure you stay well." Said Eve. I smiled. Derion why don't you stay here with me. everyone else can go to the castle to search." "Ok we will come back once we figured it all out." Said Arion. He kissed my forehead. "Thanks son." "Sure mom. Anything for you." Then they all left. There was a knock on my door not to long after. (Knock Knock) "Come in." I said.

"Mom how are you feeling?" said Kida. "Oh Kida and Aiden. I'm fine kids come on in. its ok. Kids this is Eve my birth mother and my brother Derion." "Nice to meet you Derion and Eve." They both said. "Nice to meet you both too. Kids."

After awhile I was able to walk around. They walked with me through the garden slowly. "Sometimes I like to play my violin here in the garden. The flowers like it. sometimes even the animals come out just to hear it. When my friend Fawn was alive I'd go out more than I have to the forest. I miss those little animals. I'm sure they miss me too. Also since her death I haven't played violin in the garden. Once I am better I think I will do it." "Good idea." Said Eve. "Oh Eve? Is it true that grandma had the gifts I had." "Yes she did. I only got one gift while you have many on my side. I got the gift of animal talking as well but that is it. As for Aragon he has two of them." "Oh which ones does he have?" "He has animal and flower talking." "Oh good we can talk to the flowers together then." Then suddenly I felt a little lightheaded and almost fell. My brother caught me. "Sorry brother. I just felt a little lightheaded for a minute. I'm ok now." "Are you sure?" "Yeah I'm sure." That's when we decided to head back. I went back to my room to rest a bit. I got my art stuff and did some sketching which I hadn't done in awhile. Once I was done I liked the picture. "What do you think Eve?" "Is that our family with you included?" "Yeah it is. Do you like it?" "I love it." "He take this back home with you. I made it for you." "I'll frame this up. Thank you." "What do you think brother?" "Its awesome." "Thanks." I was going to have a little nap when I heard voices outside. "Could you go check it out brother?" "Yeah sure. I'll be back." "Ok thanks. Sigh." "You ok Talia?" "Yeah just a little tired. Another day or 2 I should be fine." "Then we will stay that long if we need to." "Thank you." "Hey Eve? Do you have anyone besides your mom alive on your side?" "It was only me and my big brother and sister. I didn't have a big family like Aragon. They live around the village. My brother takes care of our mother." "Oh that's good. Can I meet them next time I'm over?" "Sure if you want." "That would be nice."

A little while later Derion came back and said, "Talia if you are up for it you might want to come down. Your husband has lost it." "Ok I'm coming." Luckily I was still in my clothes.

I finally got to Jay and said, "What is going on Jay?" "Oh Talia how are you feeling?" "I'm OK. What is all the commotion?" "I'm just pissed that someone would poison you. I wanted to torcher the men who did it but they wouldn't let me." "OK if its all taken care of now why don't you come take me to my room and calm down a bit." "Yeah sure. Don't think this is over." "He said a man." He walked me back to my room.

"Where is everyone else?" "Oh they are Around. They are going to come see you in a bit." "Oh good. I went for a walk to day in the garden with Eve and my brother Derion." "How did the walk go?" "It was fine till I felt lightheaded. He caught me before I fell." "That's good. So in a about a day or 2 you should be better right?" "Yeah I should be then I have ghost business to take care of." "Just be careful on that you know its dangerous." "I'll do my best."

A little while later everyone came back to see me. "Well how did it go?" "We found the culprit. It was your cousin like he said. He wouldn't tell us why he poisoned you." "I see where is he now?" "He is in the dungeon in a cell. If you want to try to get something out of him bring two knights with you." Said Dad. "Ok thanks everyone for your help." "Hey what about me?" said the spirit. "Thank you too." "That's more like it. So when you are better you will help me right?" "Yeah in a day or 2 I will be better but I have something to day on the 3rd day. On the 4th I will help you ok?" "Sure just call when you are ready." "I will. Sorry everyone he showed up to see how things went."

2 days later I was fine. I got up and dressed. Then I went to get my violin to play in the garden. "Are you going to the garden to play the violin?" said Jay. "yes I haven't done it since Fawn died. I need to do it again. Its relaxing." "Wow ok then have fun." "Thanks."

I was finally in the garden and said, "Ladies and Gentleman of all flowers I am going to put on a performance after all these years. I hope you enjoy." Then I just played random songs. I saw the flowers swaying and dancing to the music. Then after awhile I was done. "Thank you for listening. Ladies and Gentleman." "Wow we missed this." Then the flowers all started talking at once. "Ok everyone. I would love to stay and chat but I have another performance to get to in the forest." "Oh ok come more often." "I will try." Then I left for the forest. I hope that Jay doesn't worry I didn't tell him I was going there. "Hello forest friends. Talia has returned." I saw some heads peek out then they told their friends and I was surrounded. "I'm sorry everyone. I know its been 16 years since I came by. I'll try to come by often. I brought my violin with me. everyone stand back and I will play some songs." I closed my eyes took a deep breath and let it out. I played as loud as I could and I saw some elf friends come to listen as well. Fawns mom and Even Arion and Elsa came. Then I played even more passionately in tears this time. I played more songs than I did for the flowers. Then finally after awhile I did one last song then stopped. I leaned against a tree ready to fall. Arion caught me. "You ok mom?" "Yeah sorry. After I saw everyone here I was touched. I over did it a bit. I just got over being poisoned." "Its ok mom. I know how you are. I'm glad to see you playing again in the forest. I don't remember it cause I was still a little guy but I remember the sound and the forest. I missed it. I hope you can come more." "Hehe. Thanks Arion. How is that girlfriend of yours?" "Oh she's good. She's home right now." "Ok. Well I'm ok now. Hello everyone thanks for listening to my music. If you ever need me to play in the village send me a letter. I'm willing to do it for free. Tips appreciated." "yeah we sure will." Said one of the male elves. "Ok thanks I will send a letter to tell you when I am free. These next few days I will be busy but after that I'm free." Then I told everyone I had to head home Arion walked me to the door. "Ok mom. I better head back." "Ok come visit when you can we will too." "Yeah of course." Then he went on his way and I inside.

Finally a few days went by I did what I had to for the spirit and he crossed over. I was so exhausted. I came home hunched over. "Hey you ok Little sis?" said Lycan. "Yeah just came back from helping the spirit out. Do I have any letters?" "Yeah a couple of letters." "Ok thanks." He gave me the letters and I went to my room to rest. I looked at the letters and saw they were requests to do a performance. So I wrote a letter in response agreeing to them. I had a messenger bird take it to the village and I told him who to give them too. "Yes princess." He said. Then flew off. Then I went to my bed to take a nap.

"Did Talia come back yet?" said Jay to Lycan. "Yes she went to go rest. You might want to check on her she didn't look to well." "Yes your majesty." Then Jay left for the room.

He went in without knocking and saw she was asleep. He went over and felt her head. Luckily no fever. Her face is a little red though. Definitely tired. He sat down next to her until she woke up.
