"H…how did you get it?" She gulped. He chuckled. "Come and get it, sweet. I don’t bite." Raziel narrowed her eyes. He was trying to trick her into opening the window. "It’s not that hard. Come on, I’ll give you your erotica," he assured, drawing on the last word. "It’s not erotica. You’re horrible at reassuring people." "And you’re a pro at hurting my ego." "Seriously?" "No." She glared at him and he smirked. Seems like she was no longer scared of his blazing golden eyes. Such a huge achievement. "I won’t hurt you, sweet, sweet, Raziel," he spoke out as he used his hands to tell her to come forward. Noticing the reluctance and doubt in her eyes, he shrugged his shoulders. "Fine, I’ll grant your request and leave," he said as he sauntered towards the railing of her balcony. He heard her panicked voice and her loud footsteps as she quickly tossed the blanket off her body and hurried to the window. Just as he saw her opening the balcony window, he smirked at her and leaped off the balcony. She released a horrified shout as expected. It was a five-floor drop after all. "C…come back!" She slightly whispered, dreading to wake her family or alert the guards. He turned a deaf ear to her. A hand was tucked into his pocket as he walked down the mansion with ease. His free hand swung the book as he walked. He kept walking and just as he had predicted, she uttered the word. Raziel panicked. She sprinted out of her bedroom, barefoot and with just her thin nightgown. The book wasn’t hers, it was May’s and she would fight with her if she found out that her book was missing and that she took it. She doesn’t want any quarrel with May and she has to take the book from him to avoid May’s wrath. Raziel ran outside and was welcomed by the chilly cold and the bright light of the moon. She sighted him walking away and she racked her brain for something to say. Yes, she now knew his name. She had seen it at the royal grandmother’s birthday party. She had forgotten his name until it was forced out of her. "Valhoon, please!"

Princess

Raziel opened her eyes and stretch her arms and legs. "Hmm, this bed is so soft today," she muttered sitting up on the bed. She stared around the room and her mouth fell open in shock. Oh my, this room is so beautiful. Is this reality or I'm just imagining things like always? She pinched her arms hard and winced from the pain. So this is real? She got up from the large bed and kept looking around. Did she suddenly get money to have all of this overnight? This place is nothing like the cabin in the forest at all, it feels like heaven.

This place is just like she used to imagine

Maybe she became a princess overnight. If that was the case, then she was never going to leave this place. It looks even more beautiful than her room back then at their mansion. The bed, the furnitures, everything looks so beautiful. Raziel gasped as she looked at her body in awe. She was wearing a long beautiful nightgown. "Wow I'm a princess," she said, using her thumbs and forefinger to hold the side of the nightie as she twirled around with her lips curved into a bright smile. Just then the door of the room pushed open, causing her to almost lose her balance as she stopped to stare in that direction.

Five ladies in maid's dresses walked in with clothes in their hands. It has been confirmed, she's a princess. There were maids now and she wouldn't have to do those blood-draining household chores again, instead, the maids will do everything for her.

"Good morning milady," one of the maids greeted.

"G-good morning," Raziel greeted in nervousness, using her forefinger to twirl her hair. Of course, she would be nervous, after all, it was the first time someone called her that in years.

"Please come with us, we're here to attend to you and help you with your bath," the maid informed, walking up to her and holding the tiny strap of her nightgown, trying to pull it off.

"Hey wait, what are you doing?" She asked, backing away from the maid.

"You are his majesty's guest and we must attend to you. Please let us do our job else we'll be punished," the maid pleaded.

"Which majesty are you talking about? And do you mean you'll help me bathe?" Raziel asked. Who helps a grown up lady bath these days? She's not a baby and she can bath on her own. Are they not ashamed to see someone else's nakedness?

"Yes, milady."

Please don't worry, I'll bathe myself, just show me the way to the bathroom," she said and the maid hesitated but still showed her the way and gave her the clothes.

Raziel came out of the bathroom some minutes later, fully dressed. It had taken her 30 minutes to put on the clothes the maid gave her. She wore it wrong the first and second times and she only got it right the fourth time. She was still shocked by the interiors of the bathroom, it was plain sparkling white, and beautiful. All of these were still a mystery to her. She raised her face and saw a man talking to the maids and they all echoed 'yes your majesty' and he stopped talking when he noticed her walking in. He turned his head and her eyes met with a beautiful pair of golden eyes.

He looks familiar, where has she seen him before? Those eyes. She has seen this guy before, but where? Her mind was in chaos trying to register where on earth she had met the guy. She stared at his hand and saw he was holding a familiar golden stick. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open in the realization that perhaps drool was dripping from it. She had thought it was all a nightmare, so it's reality? No, this can't be true.

"Purple man you?" She exclaimed pointing a finger at him and the maids cleared their throats. This girl just called their king such a nickname and even pointed a finger at him. Does she want to get beheaded?

"I see you're finally awake redhead," he answered, waving his hands and dismissing the maids who quickly walked out.

"How long have I been sleeping?"

"Hmm, three days."

"What?" She exclaimed. "You, did you drain my blood, and that's why I've been sleeping for three days?"

"No, I did not, you were such a petite little girl that you fell unconscious just by watching a minor fight between vampires," Valhoon answered, walking to stand closer to her.

"A-are there v-vampires here?" She asked, rubbing her arms with her palms as goosebumps formed.

"Don't worry, no one will dare eat or drain your blood here except you offer them of course," Valhoon informed.

"Who offers a vampire their blood?" Raziel thought. If she has been here for three days straight, then what about her family? She needs to confirm if they're fine or not.

"Mum, you should eat. You haven't eaten anything for three days," May pleaded with her mother.

"I'm not going to eat until I find out Raziel is safe. This is the reason why I always tell her to learn how to cast spells, but she didn't listen. Now I don't know if those bloodsuckers have done something to her," Rachel cried as little droplets of tears fell from her eyes.

"Don't worry Rachel, Raziel is fine, trust me hmm. Come on, eat your food and we'll go look for her," Maxwell coaxed.

"How is she fine? She can't cast a spell like we did that day. Don't tell me to eat, we should go look for her," Rachel sobbed, slightly shoving the food away from her face.

"Mum, what if she ran away from here just because you loathe her and always scold her?" Jaria asked.

"No, o don't hate her and she knows that. Although I'm mad at her for making us live here, I don't hate her at all. She's my daughter and I love her just like I love you two."

"Then why else did she leave early that morning? She always causes trouble for us. She was the cause of our living here in this cramped place and leaving our mansion. Now, she wants to cause us more trouble," Jaria complained.

"Stop it Jaria, try coaxing your mum to eat the food instead of pushing all the misfortunes of your life on someone else. Have you forgotten you were also part of the reason Raziel tried to commit suicide? You were the one who told her mean things about her being good for nothing. Everyone contributed to this, and you Rachel, you even called her an unfilial daughter once," Maxwell scolded, his chest rising and falling in anger.

"I regret it now, it's all my fault. I should have talked to her sweetly about the spells but all I did was try to force and scold her," Rachel realized and she sobbed harder.
