The Temple II : Trapped

The prince ordered, pushing me forward in order to read the wall.

I stand by the wall staring at the carving on the wall waiting for some miracle to happen but nothing happened. I don't understand a word written on the wall. I turned and all eyes were on me. I turned again. You got this Anya. You got this. I tried closing my eyes to concentrate more, I opened my left eye slowly. Nothing. I didn't see the light that made me read the carving.

"Okay, okay ... nothing is happening this time."

I humped angrily.

"Concentrate, we don't have all day."

The prince said completely annoyed.

"Can't you see, I'm trying."

I tried to maintain my angry voice but ended up yelling back at him. I don't want to be ordered around and that's the only thing he likes doing. I don't care if he is a prince. He's not my Prince.

Luiz rubbed my shoulder calming me down whispering in my ears.

"Try harder, you don't want to annoy the Prince."

"To hell with him, where he belongs."

I replied making Luiz chuckled. He always looks handsome when he does that with his one-sided dimple. Gosh.

"Stubborn as always."

He said brushing my hair with his fingers. Andi wiggles my head and smacks his hand. thank God the prince is far away from us now observing the wall closely and touching it to find a way in. It seems that he didn't hear us.

It's not like it'll always happen like the last time, am not used to it. The last time my body was automatically possessed. And the thing that did that is nowhere to be found now.

We heard the wall cracked open. And we turn to see a smirking prince walking through. Feeling proud of himself. Arrrghhh, how can I wipe away such EGO?

We all entered and the wall was locked behind us, the place had no door or window. We have been trapped in a room with only the blue lightening the place. There were skeletons all over the floor, some hanging from the ceiling, we walked on them making noises and the wall kept coming closer and closer.

"A trap, we have to find a way out before it smashed our bodies."

The prince explained touching the wall as he did before. But nothing happened I grin evilly yeah, you only got lucky the last time.

I was lost in my grinning evilly when my leg got stuck inside one of the skeleton rib cages. I gasped jumping on top of the one next to me with the rest of the body hanging in my legs. It was the bald guard smiling. I let go and fall on the floor. Now both my hands are stuck in the mouth of a skull and the other like his stomach.

I was about to scream when two hands covered my mouth.

"Don't you dare?"

The prince warns me and gets up, continue searching the wall. Now I can't even scream in peace.

I held back my scream, sweating continuously and Luiz came and helped me remove the dead bodies. I smiled weakly at him. Thankful he's here.

Concentrate on the floor. Or you will embarrass yourself again. I only see this in movies, where you get trapped in caves with dead bodies and booby traps and I'm experiencing it. Good, just good. We're gonna get smashed like these dead people if we don't hurry up and find a way out. This wall squishes us.

I look over the wall concentrating. The last thing I know is I definitely need this power to get out of here alive.

I traced my hands on the wall with my eyes closed. Walking and tracing the walls with Luiz following me. There must be a way out. The four guards squat down to check the floor.

Minutes passed, and there was not enough oxygen for the seven of us. And the walls are not getting closer just a leg length. We've tried any and everything we think I'll open a way out but nothing happened.

I sat down breathing heavily, that's it, I should have found a way and run before getting into the jet. I brought Luiz into this, now we're all going to die.

We're going to die. I look at the ceiling that's coming closer little less than the walls.

No one thought of taking a look at it before.

I looked closely and observed where the blue light shined and saw something, something like a hole. That may be the way.

"Luiz put me on your shoulder."

I turn my gaze to Luiz asking.

"What? Even at this time, you wanna play."

Luiz jokes around.

"Stop joking around, I saw something. Now, put me on your shoulder, I need to reach the ceiling. I think it might be the only way out"

I explained, getting the other attention, smacking his chest, he was always playing around. He bent down and I crossed my legs around his neck.

"Looks like you gain more weight, Nyla, you are heavy"

"Seriously, that was unnecessary. You don't imagine me to weigh like the five-year-old me. Do you?"

And he laughed remembering old times. I couldn't touch the ceiling. Luiz is around 6.3 feet tall. But the prince and his bodyguard are taller but rather die than one of them to carry me. Picturing our situation we'll all die if I don't make a move but I just don't want any of them carrying me.

I reach out my hand higher making Luiz stumble, poor Luiz, I guess I am heavy.

I was about to fall when the prince grabbed my waist with his hands and raised me up like a baby. He's strong.

I looked down at him wondering why he helped. And the other part of me whispered. He doesn't want to die either, I guess.

"Will you stop looking at me and do what you're supposed to or do you want me to drop you?"

Joke apart, this idiot can very well drop me, I didn't answer him. Instead, I turn my head and reached out for the hole. Almost there, the light came close to me, lightening the place while the walls kept moving closer. Now our bodies touch both walls with two more moves and we'll be smashed.

I pulled my fingers in and pushed a block and the floor shook open, making us fall into deep black space.

We screamed our lungs out, falling down, okay maybe I was the only one screaming. I didn't care who's shouting, but I screamed for my life.

I found myself laying on top of someone. No, No, No, no. It can't be. Before I could get off of him, he pushed me off him. And stood up wiping his shirt. I land on him throughout the fall.

We were standing in a completely different room with holes all over the walls.

One of the guards started walking and two arrows shot from opposite walls and into his chest, he took another step and another two arrows shot at him. Making me flinch. He kept walking to the next wall till his body was full of arrows. My eyes swell up at the sight. He ... He took all our arrows. And a tear dropped sliding down my cheeks.

"No."

I let out a scream seeing his lifeless body fall. He fell down. Dead. Some black shadow escaped from his body.

I fall on my knees sobbing, is it because of the sight of someone killed because I hate seeing dead bodies. And this is the first time a person has died in front of me. And I have nothing to do about it.

"Bartos, come back soon."

One of the guards murmured. Hitting his arm on his chest in a sign of honor. I stare at the man on the floor. He's been possessed and now killed. He is in his late 30s. Definitely with a wife and child. more tears brimming my eyes as the thought of the little girl losing her dad. It reminds me of the time I lost my parents when I was five. Anger starts building up in me as for the demons, he'll possess another body. What did they think? Use the human body and just throw them away like trash when it's dead.

Mimi came to me meowing. She's back to my sweet Mimi. I quickly picked her up and wrapped her around me. Shedding tears. I really miss her. Luiz stands there rubbing my head soothing me.

"What's wrong, never seen a dead body before?"

The prince asked, squatting down to match my height. But I ignore him. He's such a heartless monster.

"Well, you might be in his position if you weren't the one with my gem."

With that, he stood up a leave. And we followed him. Hugging Mimi close to me. I walked over afraid it might shoot more arrows. But it didn't. The blue light entered into a book hanging in the air.

"We've found it."

I scream in joy.
