(A/N: This chapter may cringe you A LOT, so go in with that thought in mind :)
After a few hours of nap, Izuku woke up with a fresh mind. Although there were a lot of things he wanted to do, doing it with a muddled mind is definitely not it.
First and foremost, although he felt no real connection to this body's mother, the sheer amount of love he felt from that short embrace left quite a deep impression on him.
In his previous 30ish years of life, no one had embraced him as she did before, one out of pure love with no ulterior motives whatsoever. It's addicting, to say the least.
He might feel some amount of awkwardness, sure, but the longing for a familial connection squashed that little awkwardness to death as if it had never existed in the first place.
Izuku went out, only to see the still worried expression on his mother, Inko's face. She was sitting on the living room sofa, absentmindedly watching whatever was on the TV.
Izuku's face had a surprised expression. He did not expect her to still worry as much. He thought a few hours was enough to quell her worry.
'Is this what it feels like to be cared for? I guess I can get this kind of worry if Lin left for more than two days…' Izuku thought.
It was a nice feeling, to be cared for. Though, simultaneously, guilt also struck him as he realized what he had done wrong.
Izuku went over to the sofa and stared at his mother as she finally noticed his presence. "Are you feeling any better?" She asked as a forced smile appeared on her face, trying to hide her pale and tired complexion.
A string of unfamiliar heartache hit Izuku. He steeled his heart, not wanting to show any discomfort or anything the like, and took a seat right next to Inko. "I'm better after taking a nap, mom,"
"Thank god…" Inko sighed in relief. During these few hours, multiple scenarios ran through her head as she waited for Izuku to come out of his room.
She assumed the worse; what if he passed out again? But this time, without banging his body? What then.; but she was glad that nothing actually happened.
Seeing the somewhat stiff look on her son's face and body, Inko assumed it was but a small aftereffect of the event.
She regretted not doing anything to cheer her son up these past few years. While he was cultivating his seemingly impossible dream, all she did was undermine his work.
She kept trying to nudge him to be a normal civilian, or at worst, support for heroes, but the hardheadedness of her son knows no bounds.
Although she still believed that this path is better for her quirkless son, she decided today that no matter what, she will support her son's dream. No matter how ludacris it is.
At least that way, she gets to spend some time with him, doing what he enjoys.
Inko reached out to Izuku's head and nudged it to rest on her bosom as she hugged his small body tightly.
Izuku was unprepared for such an intimate action, but his weak body and reflex prevented him from doing anything. He felt his head resting on a warm pillow that is her bosom and suddenly, everything felt okay.
His mellow death? It was okay. The sudden transmigration? It was okay. The unpredictable future in his new world? It was gonna be okay too.
As long as she was here, next to him, everything is gonna be okay…
"Izuku," She whispered, "I know that I haven't been supportive of your dreams but, Mom realized just now that, no matter what, Mom wants to help you.
I want Izuku to be the best Izuku he can be, I want Izuku to find and realize his dreams. And Mom may have been skeptical before, but Mom knows that in the end, everything will be fine.
It's fine now, and Mom knows why." She stared into his eyes, and with an unwavering complexion, she mimicked the smile and pose her son had always admired, "It's because Izuku is here."
…
Izuku stared at his mother's warm gaze and felt complicated. For one, although she was talking to him, he knew deep down that those words and sentiments aren't meant for him,
And frankly, those words of encouragement are nothing to his heart. The previous Izuku might feel giddy and happy that his mother had finally acknowledged his heroic dream and wanted to be supportive, but alas.
He, the new Izuku, only wanted to follow Inko's previous path, to be a normal civilian.
'...Sorry Inko, but I think it's too little too late. Your words will never reach your son, but I promise, I'll make it up to you…'
Izuku broke their stare as he slumped his face back down into his mother's bosom. A small sigh escaped his mouth as he chuckled lightly, "Thank you mom, but I think after fainting, I realize how stupid my dreams are,"
His words, though confused Inko a bit, managed to bring a genuine smile to her face. Sure, she might have felt her previous speech to be wasted, but who cares? Her son had finally uttered the words she dreamt of!
"Are…are you sure Izuku? You're not joking right?"
"Mn, I don't know what my goal will be, but I promise it'll be much safer than being a pro hero."
Inko tightened her hug on her son even more. She had never thought that this little episode that had scared her before managed to turn into such a beautiful one.
Her smile never once faded as she started caressing her son's head softly, muttering words of approval and encouragement every so often.
Izuku still had many thoughts in his head, and the morality of his situation is still very much gray. But, since god was the one who plunged him into this, he felt this is morally okay…maybe.
And so, the pair stayed on the sofa for quite a while, enjoying each other's company after all these years. Izuku felt that he might get addicted to this feeling of familial love.
As Inko was about to stop and prepare for dinner, a piercing headache suddenly invaded Izuku.
"AGH!" Izuku shouted, his body jumped out off the sofa, rolling in pain. The headache came so suddenly that Izuku accidentally knocked Inko off, propelling her to hit the table.
Though her arm was hurt, she couldn't care less and went to his side, trying to figure out what happened.
But, before she could, a small marble-sized, distorting black ball that glowed slightly, emerged from Izuku's body.
It hovered above Izuku's body, which was quickly dragged away by Inko. She struggled to carry her son with a hurt arm but managed to bring him a few meters away from the ball.
She eyed the ball with caution. It looked ominous as is, but the fact that it came out of her son amplified it even further.
The ball floated in the air, seemingly doing nothing, when all of a sudden, the surrounding items were dragged into it, forming a basketball-sized object before finally exploding.
*BOOM*
Inko's eyes opened wide as she saw the impending objects flying toward them. The only thought running through her head is to protect Izuku!
Using her rather plump body, she shielded Izuku from the debris. Most of the flying objects have been reduced to marble-sized, but the impact still stung Inko a lot.
Her body could not hold on. The physical and mental stress she cumulated today had been too much. Until finally, she passed out with Izuku in her arms, completely unharmed.
…
…
Several minutes later, the door to their house was forcibly opened as a figure rushed in. A giant man wearing a skin-tight blue and red suit walked in before analyzing the situation.
His face showed an ever-so-mighty smile as he sighed in relief. A few minutes ago, while he was attending a business, he heard an explosion far away.
Afraid of it being an attack, he rushed towards the sound, only to find a pair of mother and son fainted at the scene.
He was relieved it was nothing of the sort but was confused at the nature of the explosion. It looked as if it was done from the inside, which greatly puzzled him.
Putting that thought aside, he decided that bringing the injured pair to the hospital is the top priority.
