Blue Torch

A friend once told me “ Time may be nothing to you but for the rest of us, it’s all we have. I’m sorry living has destroyed you”.

So I know what curse I’ve got, I think.

"A blood curse is similar to a blood burden" I watch her lick her delicate lips while she chatted.

Pull it together, Keeda, I thought to myself. You don't have time to become entangled with another woman.

"Witch's curse individuals with their souls. In particular circumstances you can separate a curse with another life by sacrifice some you cherish. However, these two curses have no loophole they are the pure interpretation of go fuck yourself" she explained

"A blood curse you apply your soul to curse an entire generation, a blood burden you apply your soul to curse one particular individual for your benefit" pausing "the question is what does this witch have to gain by sacrificing herself to curse you and sending you back to the past in one particular moment" she stared at me for the answer "well?" She ordered, lightly shouting at me.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Dunno, never saw her before then," I replied. "Maybe you murdered someone she loved!" Jon yelled across the room "Doubtfully, I'm not that old" he bellowed out an ear-piercing laugh "Hmm what would some lady you never met have to get by sending you to that point, dying in the process.

" He pounder, I don't think he was trying to resolve my issue, as he got up opening a little door. I observed him, watching his movements while he tapped hard cans.

The tapping of the metal against his coarse fingers made my eyes want to bleed. Was it possible to turn my recent ability down?

He watched me as I observe him prepare dehydrated meat with relishes and spices, handing me a slice. I welcomed it with hesitation.

I've eaten nothing I didn't make myself. I placed the dried out food into my mouth. I wasn't hungry. It was like I was gnawing on air.

Come to think about it, I wasn't anything. I was no longer yearning for sleep like my naked, injured body craved for.

The room itself wasn't cold or hot. I just felt comfortable, with an eerie feeling. I no longer suffered any pain.

My body had once ached from years on the battlefield. My sore muscles always wanted to be massaged, but there was just nothing.

Even the way I described the feeling to myself was wrong. It reminded me of the occasion a blind person told me they didn't see black, they just saw nothing. There was no authentic way to explain such a phenomenon.

"Perhaps she sent you back to change the future. Maybe she knows you're a direct descendant of the dragons. I can smell it on you personally, but with there being no magical creatures in your time, I can understand why you never knew.

Maybe she sent you to do exactly what you did" Liliana's smart reports coming to my rescue, breaking me from the trance of my mind. "That makes sense" I finally agreed with them, "It was the one thing I did differently" I whispered "I know" Liliana smiling at me walking over to get what she called human food.

The room was quite "want more" Jon handing me another piece of food. I ate it to fill the void. "So why we're you attacking her in the first place?" He questioned me "uh, it's complicated" I counter to him shamefully.

The only reason I attacked anyone that day was because of aurora. Her actions only had consequences for me, my actions had consequences for me. What a mess, I should have never taken that job.

I was suddenly very grateful Liliana couldn't get into my mind. I never needed her to find out about Aurora. I never wanted her to experience a a mortal being so cruel and vile. "If it was alright with the two of you, I would prefer to tag along.

Possibly help with the whole king business" the words come from my mouth before I even had time to think about them.

Maybe a world like this wouldn't be so bad after all. "Oh man, I don't know. I have to ask Gemma!" Jon Shouted out.

"She makes all the decisions and investigations everyone before joining" Liliana chipped in. I crossed my arms in disappointment, maybe they were both just idiots.

"Then why did you bring me here, Captain" I smugly responded.

"Uh man, I'm in deep shit" he looked down at his 3rd meal.

"Yeah buddy you are," Liliana giving him a comforting back rub with one hand.

Still friendly, I thought nothing too close to be romantic.

What type of person was this Gemma, anyway for them to be in so much trouble?
