EXPANSE

It's been a month now and I'm still in the woods, I can feel the arcane trying to confuse me. It assaults my sense of direction, often times trying to turn me around. By this point I've gotten much better at killing and processing deer... not that I was bad at killing them in the first place. I had even been taken up sewing, even making some upper body clothing. It was just some simple pelts sewn together, nothing to write home about.

Over the course of the month I had ran into some monster, all of them raving about how much they wanted to eat me. I had even gotten a spear and dagger out of it. The monsters with spears and knives were some weird snake laddies, but I had ran into some more of those one eyed freaks as well. All in all it had been a very productive month... not, I was still lost and even following trails had led me no where.

Another month had passed and I could tell I wasn't going to be leaving this place without a guide. I had climbed to the top of a mountain and followed rivers for miles, and yet I'd still found no way out. Seeing as I was completely lost I decided to settle down, and as the swords I had picked up from monsters seemed to never lose their edge I could use them in place of an axe.

Over the course of the next few months I cut down a tree and started building a cabin right next to a river, the trees were so large just one was needed. With my small body moving things was a pain even if the things I was moving were relatively light to me. I had chosen a clearing right next to a river as my new property because a river can provide all sorts of useful materials.

My cabin was quite nice with three whole rooms, a kitchen/dining room, my bedroom, and lastly a bathroom... though that last one couldn't be used till I figured out indoor plumbing. It would be to hard as my knowledge of mechanics from my days of crafting in Yharnam would massively help as I had even played around a bit and read huge amounts of books. Mainly because I wanted to find out who designed that horrible city, turns out the waking version of Yharnam was not a shit show like the messed up version you run around in.

Currently I was working on making a water tower so that I would have running water, I had been working on it for a while now and I was making good progress. The inside was slowly being coated in clay that I hardened by increasing the heat put off by torches, I did this by fueling the flame with arcane. I was basically just baking the clay, It had take me a while to figure out the mixture required to make clay anything as it's what I made my plates and such out of. It was also what I planned on making all of my plumbing out of, though that would take much longer than this.

During my off time I would focus my efforts on building a forge, as I wanted to reforge some of the swords and knives into my favorite trick weapon Ludwig's Holy Blade. That and it would make using clay a lot easier as my forge could also serve as a bakery. My biggest problem at the moment though was supplying enough fuel to get a hot enough flame to melt this new metal I had. I could always use arcane, but that would be extremely draining.

I was also working on another main project, that being making a bow. I was sick of dropping out of trees to decapitate the deer I was eating, plus I could also fish with a bow and hunt some squirrel or rabbit as well. I was making good progress as well, my biggest problem was the string. I was trying to use tendons from the deer I had killed and it wasn't working out. I felt I was getting close though.

It had been a few years now... at least I think so. The reason being one, I now looked to be around eleven and two, four winters had passed. Each one had been easier then the last as I found problem that arose each time. Except the last being more annoying then anything.

During my first winter my pipes and water tower burst, if you didn't know water expands when it's frozen... I had forgotten that little fact. To fix it I had built a system of pipes that would have a constant flow of water through them and I had it run through a fire. The heated water would then be pumped through piped the circled the water tower, this would keep the water hot and then I would leave my faucet dripping so that hot water would always be flowing.

My second winter I had ran out of dried fruits to each with my meals. I hadn't though that the freeze would last as long as it did. The way I fixed that was just increasing the amount I stored. Easy right? Not really as I now had a problem with smaller animals getting into my store house and pigging out. In the end I had to basically coat the entire building in hardened clay to keep them out.

My third winter I didn't have any major problems, mainly just that I was out growing all my clothes. Preaty easy fix if you ask me.

My fourth winter was were things got interesting. I guess some monsters shared the fact that I was living here as a decently large group showed up. There were these huge ugly dogs, giant blue dudes, some more snake ladies (which is weird because snakes are cold blooded which means they hate winter... right?), more of those one eyed dudes, and lastly some guy in a suit with a tail.

I walked out of my house carrying my sword that I had finally finished forging just that summer. Looking over the group of a combined fifty I spoke up,

"Can't you guys leave me alone? I've done nothing to bother you."

I was mainly looking at the suit guy as I spoke, I figured he was probably the only one in the group that wouldn't rave about my smell.

"I'd heard rumors of a strange demi-god living in the great expanse... you are strange indeed. Soon you will be my lunch though." He smirked.

"Another freak trying to eat me," I muttered under my breath.

Over the course of the past few years I had figured out new ways to use the arcane around me and I decided to start this fight of with a bang using one of my new tricks. With a torche I was holding in my left hand, I pushed out while pumping huge amounts of arcane through it. I had created something I liked to call 'Dragons Breath', a massive plum of fire flew towards the mini army and drowned many in fire. The few to survive were the snake ladies, huge dogs, one eyed dudes, and the weirdo with a tail but his suit was smoldering and ruined.

"I will kill you for that god spawn." The tailed man snarled.

"It's self defense asshole, maybe don't attack someone if you don't want to be hit." I laughed.

I was bored at work and thought this might make me feel better. Who is his godly parent? Any guesses? Also correct my mistakes, I have no editor and I try my best but I'm only human.
