“Ember!” Turner’s voice echoed across the room of William’s small yet elegant dining room as Ember and Adrian walked in.

It had been almost two weeks since she’d seen any of the Kresniks after their return to Bucharest and she couldn’t help but feel the sensation of coming home when she saw their faces.

“Hey boys,” Ember said fondly, approaching them and giving both Turner and Malcolm a hug.

“You are looking much better,” Malcolm said, holding her for a moment at arm’s length.

“Malcolm,” Ember said playing at admonished. “You never tell a lady that. That would imply that I at some point did not look well and that’s just unkind.” She giggled at the bashful expression that grew on his face. “I’m kidding! I feel much better since the last time we spoke, so thank you.”
