The door to the cabin swung open with a loud slam, jolting Takoda out of the novel he had been invested in for the past few hours. His eyes widened and the smile that had begun to grow on his face froze as he took in the disheveled state of his human companion.
Ophelia had been at a special midnight farmers market that the owner of the café had wanted them to participate in, a shift she had begrudgingly accepted since the other baker had filled in for her when Takoda was… indisposed.
