The theater was buzzing with conversation as the seats filled up and people waited for the show to begin. Takoda and Celina were talking in hushed whispers, surely about some ridiculous vampire related topics. On Takoda’s other side, Ophelia sat peacefully. Yukio was next to her on his phone. Without looking up or pausing his scrolling, he casually posed a question to his long time friend.
“So, they’re vampires, right?”
Ophelia’s peace shattered and she jerked her head in his direction. Her eyes were wide as she stared at him, searching for any indication that he was joking. His eyes flitted away from the screen and met hers, a sly grin spreading across his lips. Her cheeks flushed as she realized he most definitely was not joking.“Wha-You knew?! Why didn’t you say anything before?”
