A couple of weeks passed without incident. Tanner and Melissa kept their distance which made me suspicious that they were keeping something from me. One day they walked into the coffee shop while I had my hands full.
The run-in was a little odd at first. I was worried that maybe they noticed something they could use against me, but they didn’t seem to care about what I was doing once I gave them their coffee.
Liz and I grew closer. But Liz wasn’t the only person I grew close to. Silas and I had spent a lot of time together. There were even a couple of late nights in his dorm on his bed, watching movies. I fell asleep during one of our movie nights and wound up sleeping in and missing my first class the next day.
Some days I tried staying distant from him, but he would just barge right into my life, not giving a damn. He wasn’t going to let me push him away. He knew I cared for him, and he saw right through my weak façade of being the bada*s b*tch that I pretend I am.
