When I walked into math, Silas was in his usual spot. I took the seat next to him because, to my surprise, Melissa wasn’t there. When I sat down, I felt something wet.
“What the. . .” I trailed off.
I realized that Melissa and Tanner were in front of me.
“What’s wrong?” Silas asked.
Melissa and Tanner turned back to look at me with fake innocence. Tanner wasn’t in this class all week last week, so I was stunned to see him.
“What’s wrong, Katrina?” Melissa said loudly.
The entire class looked back at us. Melissa had intentionally drawn their attention to humiliate me.
Is she trying to make me look like I peed my pants?
“Ew. Did your monthly come early?” Melissa made a pout face, and Tanner started laughing. “I have a tampon if you need it, honey.”
I stood up and looked down at the seat. There was something red in it. I looked down and realized my light blue jeans looked, in fact, as if I had gotten my period. Tears welled up in my eyes at the humiliation.
