Ian was still sore from his fall, which meant he couldn't move much from the sofa, although even when he tried to get up, Vin and the kids wouldn't let him. The children were very determined to keep their mum out of danger, especially when their dad went into town to get painkillers. Aqua and Canelo were very good children, helping their mum whenever she asked for anything. Ian knew the children would want to comfort him or in some way ease the pain he was feeling. After all, what parent wouldn't want a child to look after them, although in this situation Ian felt tense about the fact that he was the only one left in the house, unable to even get up from the sofa, plus the two unarmed children. Fortunately, that thought quickly passed when he noticed that Canelo had a crossbow pointed at the door.
