The Jilted Second Young Master (49)

On that side, Lin Yitian was about to surprise his whole family.

While on the other side, without Lin Yitian's awareness, Song Jia had been watching his appearance on TV from the start.

When Lin Shenglan pushed Lin Yitian into the spotlight earlier, Song Jia had nearly thrown the remote. It was obvious that Lin Yitian was beginning to panic, but Lin Shenglan's smile didn't drop from beginning to end. Thankfully, she had a habit of always watching TV. Otherwise, how would she know that her family's Yitian was being bullied?

As expected, she really didn't like that perverted older brother Lin, ah.

So when Lin Yitian looked as if he was beginning to have another meltdown, Song Jia dialed his number on her phone and called him. She only wanted to calm him down by talking about other irrelevant things, but she didn't expect that as soon as Lin Yitian heard her voice, it was as if his panic attack vanished away with the wind.

That kind of recovery was so speedy that even Song Jia was stunned.

"Jia, did you fall asleep? You can sleep, but you can't hang up. It's fine if you don't talk, I'll listen to your breathing," Lin Yitian's gentle voice startled her out of her thoughts.

Song Jia watched him type a series of codes across the laptop screen, his fingers flying all over the keyboard. She asked, "Yitian, what are you doing?"

She only asked him if he could help Rong Jingfei out of the engagement. Song Jia had already told Lin Yitian that she was the one who handed her the video that showed Lin Shenglan was having an affair with his secretary. After all, Lin Shenglan was still Lin Yitian's older brother. Song Jia didn't want to lie to him about her involvement in dragging his older brother's name into the mud.

Song Jia didn't contact Rong Jingfei after what she did to Lin Yitian, ignoring her repeated phone calls. Lin Yitian had warned the guards not to let her inside the mansion either. But Song Jia wouldn't have wished for anyone to be chained to a cheating lover, not even on her worst enemy. And Rong Jingfei was still far from being her worst enemy.

Lin Yitian watched as several videos immediately started loading on the screen. He asked softy, "Jia, I can handle anyone talking bad about me. But I can't forgive anyone talking bad about you."

As soon as he said this, Song Jia watched with shock as dozens of videos featuring Lin Shenglan doing lewd things with his secretary played all at once across the screen. The screen was divided into more than a dozen squares, each showing a recorded feed of Lin Shenglan's affair.

In the end, Lin Yitian couldn't really be ruthless to his own brother. He could have easily projected the videos into a much larger screen with a tap of his hand, but he didn't.

Of course, this was simply nitpicking things. At most, what Rong Jingfei uploaded was censored, only showing Lin Shenglan and Secretary Wen's faces. What Lin Yitian showed on his screen was the uncensored version, what's more, they were completely naked on some of the videos. And this was being broadcasted on national TV. Even if some people weren't tuned in right now, it would still spread on the net later on.

"Yitian..." The consequences of Lin Yitian's action, how could Song Jia not know. He was giving himself with no way out, permanently cutting ties with his family.

"Jia, my mother has been recently looking for eligible young women to become my fiancée," Lin Yitian interrupted her. He did not want her to feel bad for him. "I don't need them. I only need you."

"..."

Song Jia gulped, feeling as if there were sand stuck on her throat. For a while, she couldn't say anything.

The reporters, once they saw the videos, instantly behaved as if they were injected with chicken blood. It wasn't long before his family figured out what Lin Yitian was showing them on the laptop screen. Lin Shenglan stumbled forward, all of his composure gone. But Lin Shaofeng moved even faster.

His face was purple with rage. Before anybody could understand what was happening, the laptop was smashed against the wall. Lin Shaofeng seized his youngest son by the front of his shirt, pulling him close to him.

"Unfilial son! Do you know what you are doing?" he roared.

Lin Yitian didn't deny it and calmly looked at his father, "I do."

Lin Shaofeng took a sharp intake of breath. Lin Yitian's eyes were clear without an ounce of regret. Without warning, he punched Lin Yitian across the face with his free hand. Everybody gasped from shock.

Lin Yitian dropped where he stood, coughing out blood. He reached for his phone and ended the call with Song Jia. Then he calmly wiped his lips and struggled to his feet, facing his angry father.

"How could you frame your older brother like that? Did you want to be the head of the company that much? I could understand if an outsider wants to destroy our family, but it turns out to be you? You actually dare to slander your older brother like this?"

As he spoke, Lin Shaofeng's chest heaved up and down with his emotions.

Hearing his father's words, Lin Shenglan instantly recovered. His face paled, and he asked with a confused tone, "Xiao Tian? You were the one who posted that fake video online?"

Lin Shenglan immediately understood what his father wanted him to do.

Lin Yitian swept his gaze from his father to his older brother, finally looking at his mother who looked upset but didn't speak.

Lin Yitian could still remember when the four of them were living together in one house. His father and mother often argued because of him, as Lin Shaofeng didn't want to introduce his mentally ill son to the public. When his mother finally resolved herself to take him out, she picked somewhere far away where no one would be able to recognize her.

And the moment Lin Yitian cried or did abnormal things that a young child wouldn't do...she would walk a little farther away from him, leaving him to the care of the nanny.

"Fake video or not, I think older brother knows this better than me," Lin Yitian said. He approached one of the reporters and took out a folded sheet of paper from his pocket. "The blessings older brother already has, some of us could only pray for it."

When the reporter opened that piece of paper, his expression became strange.

Because what Lin Yitian gave him was a DNA paternity test report.

There were no names as to whom the alleged father was, but the reporter instantly understood. When he looked up, the way he glanced at Lin Shenglan had traces of criticism. Lin Yitian didn't pick the reporter without any thought. Among this bunch, he was the one who adhered the most to ethical and moral values.

Of course, even if the reporter wasn't any good, it was easy for Lin Yitian to make copies of the report. As long as both the mother and child were still safe, which he had already ensured earlier on, what needed to be proven can be proven again. With this living evidence, no matter how beautifully Lin Shenglan spouted dog fart from his mouth, it would be still be recognized as dog fart.

It can be said, for Lin Yitian to oppose his family today, this wasn't something he did on an impulse. It was a matter he thought about over and over again, until finally reaching a conclusion in the end.

And his conclusion was...

Above all else, his future wife was still the most important. Having in-laws like this, she would be definitely bullied by them in the future.

Lin Yitian, the self-admitted henpecked fiancé, calmly nodded his head.
