Chapter 34: Cutting the Iron Chain!

The night descends.

The streets are filling up with more and more zombies.

At night, the zombies become more active.

Everyone fears the zombies and most people probably hide in their homes, trembling. It's hard for them to even dream that there's a man freely wandering among the zombies.

In the low growls resonating from the depths of the zombies, and walking past them, the monstrous stench of the decomposition is almost suffocating.

Yet, Zhang Cheng appeared as if nothing was wrong.

He entered the yard, where just a while ago hoodlums came to deal with the zombies at the iron gate. However, their motive in clearing the zombies was to check if the iron gate was damaged.

Upon confirmation of the iron gate being intact, the hoodlums returned to their sleep. They had consumed a lot of alcohol. All they wished for was a good night's sleep.

Zhang Cheng was waiting amidst the zombie horde, as if he himself was a zombie.

He was waiting for the right moment when the guard would doze off.

Time ran out slowly.

Around two or three o'clock in the morning, the guard started yawning incessantly.

This was surely a tiring time, especially after having alcohol.

Unable to resist the sleepiness, the guard dozed off.

Sensing the time was right, Zhang Cheng moved his way through the zombies, managing to push his way to the gate.

Taking out hydraulic shears from his backpack, he aimed them at the iron chain.

With the iron chain breaking and falling to the ground, the dozing hoodlum jolted awake.

However, by the time he looked towards the entrance, zombies were flooding in.

"Zombies! Zombies are coming in!"

The guard was yelling and trying to escape into the building.

However, he heard running footsteps behind him.

A person had reached him from behind.

As the guard turned around, Zhang Cheng was already swinging his baseball bat landing right onto the guard's head.

Not surprisingly, a human skull proved harder than a zombie's. The guard was only knocked down, not killed.

Nevertheless, it was enough.

The zombies had already surrounded the guard and began to feast upon him.

Zhang Cheng pushed the door open, allowing the zombies to flood into the police station.

Some people inside on the ground floor had already woken up.

However they didn't even get a chance to close the door. Zombies were pouring in.

Outside the door, Zhang Cheng lit a cigarette and listened to the screams inside.

Zombies have a unique awareness for the scent of humans.

By now, some of the zombies had already made their way upstairs.

The thugs who had slept in the Chief's office and the surveillance room were now trapped inside, with zombies banging on their doors.

In the Chief's office, a prostitute was fervently pushing Liu Biao, attempting to wake him up, but to no avail.

Inside the surveillance room, out of twelve thugs, only five were awake.

The zombies were knocking on the door incessantly.

The thugs were all dazed.

How did the zombies get in?

They always kept the key to the lock on the iron chain.

It definitely wasn't the customers or the thieves who opened the lock.

Surely, no thief would unlock the door for the zombies!

While the thugs were panic-stricken, Zhang Cheng had already made his way upstairs.

Just as he had expected.

These people would be drunk into sleep, and then locked in their rooms.

Now, they only had two options. Either they starve to death inside the room, or they choose to jump out of the windows.

Unfortunately, the outside was full of zombies!
