Chapter 50

Robbie had made his decision to stand and fight. Tom saw there was no moving him. Tom gave up. His Robbie wouldn’t budge no matter what he threatened him with.

“Okay, we have a meeting here with the DEA, the Hamilton Cops and O’Malley. He should be here in fifteen or twenty minutes.”

The feds and Hamilton got up and excused themselves, saying that they’d wait outside.

Tom watched them from the dining room window. “They’re like jackals when it comes to an arrest. Everyone wants the credit and to run the operation. The Hamilton police are credited with the Teagues’ arrest on drug charges, but they upset a DEA sting operation. It was the DEA that seized the assets. Stotlemeyer called the Federal District Attorney who, given the circumstances, was willing to release the assets to Robbie. The FBI thinks their Trenton office should have been notified of everything that went down and the DEA is pissed because the Hamilton police stumbled into their investigation.”
