She really was trying her best to make her see what she was saying. She did not need to be coddled or paid attention to. She was not a kid and neither was she about to crack like an egg. Children took loss all the time and no one paid this much attention to them. Why she should be any different from them, she thought.
Besides, it just made her feel sort of vulnerable all over again and maybe she was but she could not have herself feeling that way. No for long at least. It did not help her accomplish anything and neither did sitting around to feel sorry for herself solve anything either.
"Look," Alex began, also trying her best to exercise some measure of patience with her. "I get that you are trying to be strong. I really get what you're trying to do but that is not healthy." She said, briefly pausing for a couple of seconds. "Not by a long shot at least." She said, after a brief pause.
