Irritated
Claire's POV
When I had lost all self-control around someone, it was my new patient. I got my first case with the guy I slept with. My hands remained at my sides as I squinted my eyes and clenched my jaw. "Sure, I'll be there." My voice sounded hollow and wooden once I blinked out of the terror I was in.
It's not utter dread, at least. As he stood and marched toward me with a confident swagger, my body began to heat up. This was a night to add to your fantasy bankroll.
"Good morning." While welcoming him, I presented myself as Dr. Wilson in an effort to sound more professional. "What's your current state of mind?" As I reached a quivering hand to take his clipboard, he stared me dead in the eyes.
