"Did you contact Ethan?" Hazel asked. Even Oliver, the ex,  called but there was no trace of Ethan. These two just got married but they were staying apart. Not just this, he didn't even call to check if his wife was fine or not. She was not feeling good about it. After getting such treatment from her husband, Hazel did not want Esmeralda to go through the same thing. It truly hurts to be ignored by the person you care too much for.

Esmeralda fell silent. She did not know what to say,  "He must be busy with work."

She was telling herself that Ethan and she were contractually married and it was okay if he did not check up on her. But somewhere in her heart, she was hoping for him to call her or run desperately to her, asking if she was okay. She knew that she was thinking too dramatically but that's what we do when we call someone ours.

Hazel signed, "How can someone be so busy with work that they have no time to check up on you?"
