My father

Sorry for the delay guys. I promise to make it up for you, so don't forget to comment.

Present*

Melissa's pov.

" And the person doesn't have a name? You can just leave me with a stranger in this situation" I muttered with my last strength.

" Not a stranger"

" So?"

" It is....". Sighs, " Bobby"

"Bobby?" I repeated slowly, my lips pressing gently against each other, I glanced at Melanie's faces, awaiting her confirmation if I really heard her clearly. She nodded, her eyes staring down at my gown, in an attempt to avoid my eyes.

I wanted to say something but the sudden lump that formed down my throat made it harder to voice out a single word. Everything still feels like a dream, and my head is filled with the possibility of returning to my conscious state as soon as possible.

This is not true, this must be a dream, Melissa! You have to wake up, the familiar voice screamed in my head.

" Is it true that my father is no more?" the words slip out of my tongue, it doesn't look like I am directing the question to anyone in particular, Melanie sniffed, and I darted my eyes to look at her face. She was busy using the back of her palm to clean the tears that were gushing down her face. I opened my mouth widely, staring at her.

" Melissa, this is the reality, you just have to accept it, your father is no one. '' I whispered to myself, I could sense the colourless liquid as it started to form inside my eyes. No, I can't just accept this, he promised to stay with us, why did he have to break this now of all time. I can't even imagine how my mom would be looking right now. This is the end, this is the reality, whether I like it or not, I have to blend and play with what life left for me. My mum, my only sister, including me. The journey of another chapter of my life starts here, and guess what? It will never be how it used to be, because this time, I will be embarking on a journey without having anyone to look up to.

Crying like our tears will bring back the dead, screaming as if that is the only sound a dead person could hear. It takes a lot of time before I finally accept what happened to me, and face reality. I just lost my father for good. I cried to an extent that not a single drop of tears came out from its source again. After getting myself together with the help of Draven and Melanie, I finally got the chance to meet my mom. At first sight, I found it hard to believe the person am staring was really my mom. I felt my heart broken into pieces as I glanced at her in disbelief.

She looked pale, like all the blood present in her face had been drained, the right side of her cheek was red and swell up at the same time. Without thinking about hurting my knees, I nearly crashed into the floor if not for Draven , who quickly got a hold of my waist and prevented me from losing my balance.

I ran to her, hugged her and let her cry into my shoulder, telling her to forget and stop crying won't ease the scar the incident has left in her heart, which will last forever.

We left the hospital compound around 5:00pm in the evening, a car came to convey my mom and the head maid back to the mansion, while I followed Draven and Melanie back in the car we came with. Throughout our journey back to the mansion.

The thought of going back without my father, and not going to have the chance to set my eyes on his calm face again, sent a cold shiver than my spine. I tried not to think about anything and just went into bed immediately we reached the quarter, but his picture hep on popping up in my mind, not even possible to elude the fact that he was no more. And I will never set my eyes on him again...

We got to the mansion and wasted no time before I opened the door and started to run to the apartment. Some of the maids stopped on their tracks immediately they noticed me, with a look of sympathy clearly written on their face. I tried to lock the door, to prevent anyone from coming in, but Melanie is a bit faster than me. She didn't say anything and I didn't mutter a word either.

I trudged towards the bed and dropped in it, curling myself into a ball while wrapping my hand around my leg. Like she was reading my mind, Melanie pushed the quilt that was lying beside me, to cover my body, and before I knew it,  I lost my consciousness.
