Chapter 16 - My Birthday

In the days that followed, Cormack happily talked to Arnold in his big house.

"Bro, your 20th birtday is approaching, what is your plan?" Arnold asked.

"There's only one thing on my mind,"

"What is it?"

"I'm planning to propose to her,"

"Already?"

"Yes, I love Penelope, she's the one I want to be with while I'm alive,"

"But are you too young to do that?"

"This is what I want, I love her,"

"Well, I will support you," Arnold said happily.

A few moments later.

Her sisters Tiffany and Denise arrived.

And they found out the plan to propose to Penelope.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm so sure!"

"You're the youngest child in the family, and you're the first to get married? Please, don't be the first," said Denise.

"This is my life. This is what I want!" Cormack replied.

"Tell that to mom and dad, they definitely won't favor you,"

"And what do they know about my feelings?"

"Cormack, please, it's not just a wedding, you need to think about it, you're still very young!"

"I don't want to lose her to me, she is my everything,"

Not moment too soon.

His father and mother came with Drake.

And they are very worried about Cormack's intentions.

"I will not allow you to do that!" his father Steven said.

"But dad!" Cormack retorted.

His mother approached him.

"You're only 20, and your feelings may change, listen to me,"

"Mom, I love her. I promised Penelope,"

"You can marry her someday, but not this time," said his mother Liza.

"Cormack doesn't move, but he's very hurt by what they tole him.

His father spoke again.

"Remember that we have big businesses that you have to take care of, you still haven't studied enough, you still have a lot to do than get married!" His father profoundly said.

Cormack felt frustrated on what they said. And in great resentment he just left.

He got in his fancy car to go to Penelope.

Penelope is in a coffee shop owned by her brother.

He was reading a book sitting at a corner table with two chairs.

Cormack greeted Penelope warmly.

"I'm glad that you're here, you don't even call me, how did you know that I'm here anyway?"

Penelope asked in surprised.

"I know you're always here," Cormack said with a sweet smile.

Penelope smiled back.

"On my birthday, I want us to celebrate just the two of us," Cormack said happily.

"Really?"

"Yes,"

"What about the party? Just like last year?"

"No parties, I'm not interested in having a party anymore, I just want you and me,"

Cormack stated.

"I'm so glad to hear that, I love you," Penelope said.

"I love you too!" Cormack said cheerfully.

He thought that nothing could stop him from wanting her, even his family.

Cormack's birthday. His whole family is in one part of the mansion and they are waiting for him,

His parents are surprised because there is no event at their mansion, who used to have fun there when Cormack had a birthday.

"Maybe he will celebrate it in other place?" said Drake.

"I don't think so, he did not announce it before," said Tiffany

"What's that kid's plan, I'm so stressed!" Their father Steven said, feeling upset.

"Isn't he telling you what his plan is?" Denise asked their mother Liza.

"That's why we don't all know, right?"

Later Arnold arrived.

"Good morning everyone!" he said warmly.

"So, do you know where Cormack will celebrate?"

Said Denise.

"He said, no parties,"

"I thought so, where is he now?" Steven asked.

"He is preparing his proposal for Penelope,"

"He will definitely continue his proposal, he didn't listen to me, this is not right!" Steven said angrily.

"But dad, we can't stop him," Drake said.

"No, he's only 20, he doesn't know what he's doing yet!"

"How can we stop him?"

"We won't stop him, he will take care of his life!"

Their father said angrily and went up to the grand stair case.

Meanwhile.

Cormack was on a yacht owned by his family.

He was busy taking care of it, because that's where he will propose to Penelope.

When night falls.

Everything is ready, a diner table is set up and it's very romantic, there are musicians to serenade them. Cormack stared at the deck and watched the night sky, waiting for the helicopter to arrive where Penelope was in.

After a while, he heard the whirring of the helicopter and saw it approaching, he watched it land on the helipad on the roof deck of his big yacht.

And when the helicopter landed.

He grinned, and waited for Penelope to come down. The staff approached it and they opened the door of the helicopter, but Penelope was not there. Cormack frowned and wondered.

"Where is she?"

And later the helicopter pilot came down.
