Chapter "Eyes Meet Elegance"

Everyone were walking, sharing laughter and enjoying their time with their respective partners. However, Hikaru lagged behind, when suddenly Ayame came up beside him and started walking beside Hikaru who gazed at her and they kept walking in silence. Ayame broke the silence, saying, "I'm sorry if I troubled you somehow." Hikaru rudely replied saying, "It's okay." Ayame's eyes widened with confusion.

After sometimes they all were at the karaoke where a song was played loudly, and everyone was having good time with their partners. Hikaru sat without a smile, and Yuta, sitting next to him with his girlfriend, he then looks at Hikaru and said, "Hey Hikaru, you and Ayame should sing together." Hikaru looked at Yuta and responded saying, "I'm not doing anything." Yuta, frustrated, said, "Come on, at least think about Ayame; she came here just for you." Hikaru replied saying, "I didn't ask her to come." Yuta, angered, was interrupted when his girlfriend hugged his arm by saying "Come on yuta we should sing" yuta smiles and said "Ofcourse why not" Hikaru looked at Ayame, who seemed sad.

Another boy in the group encouraged Hikaru to sing, saying, "Hey Hikaru, sing; we're here to enjoy." Hikaru glanced at his wristwatch, stood up, and said, "I'll be going now." Everyone else stood up, and Yuta stopped the song, exclaiming, "What? Are you serious? We just started having fun." Hikaru replied saying, "I hope you all enjoy the night, but I'm leaving now." Ayame quickly added saying, "I'll be going as well." One of the girls suggested saying, "Ayame, at least you should enjoy." Ayame shook her head, declining the offer. Another boy said, "Hikaru, drop Ayame safely." Hikaru gazed at the boy, and Yuta chimed in, saying, "Yeah, you're walking her home." Chiaki added saying, "Yeah." Hikaru turned to Ayame and said, "Let's go." he walks outside, and Ayame followed him. Chiaki commented saying, "Geez, what's his deal?" One of the boys remarked saying, "Yeah, seriously, he is a fool." Another girl added saying, "Literally the most boring person I know." Yet another girl agreed, saying, "Yeah, for real." Yuta remained in silence.

Hikaru and Ayame were walking together. Hikaru took out his phone and dialed a call. After a few moments, someone picked up, and Hikaru said, "Hey, mother, are the guests still there?" His mother replied saying, "They just left." Hikaru said, "Alright, then I'm coming." He hung up and put his phone in his pocket. Ayame smiled and asked, "So, you decided to join us because you wanted to avoid guests?" Hikaru replied, "Yeah." She asked, "Do you really like the way you are living?" Hikaru didn't respond. She added asking, "I mean, why are you living such a boring life?" Hikaru asked, "Why is it bothering you?" She replied, "Because I really want to see you living a happy and joyful life." Hikaru didn't respond, and both kept walking. After some time, she said, "That's it, that's my house." Hikaru said, "Alright then, I will go now." She didn't respond, and Hikaru turn his back and started walking away, leaving Ayame standing, looking very sad.

Hikaru entered his house, where his family was sitting together. Hikaru ignored them and walked upstairs towards his room. His father said, "Hey Hikaru, come and sit with us." Hikaru said, "I have class tomorrow." His dad insisted saying, "Hikaru, come and sit!" Hikaru stopped, took a sigh, and walked back and sits with his family. His sister asked, "So how was your outing? Were there girls as well?" His mother chimed in saying, "Stop, Mizuhara." Mizuhara was smiling, and Hikaru remained expressionless. His mother said, "Well, I'm happy the guests liked the dinner." His father added saying, "Yeah, the Kaneko family is very kind and loving." Mizuhara asked, "But why didn't their daughter come with them?" Yamada chimed in saying, "Yeah, and you know what? No one in our neighborhood has seen her yet." Mizuhara said, "What?" His father explained, "She must be shy; give her some time." His mother added saying, "Yeah, it's just been a day." Yamada said, "No, mother, some girls from our neighborhood went to their house to meet their daughter, but they didn't allow them, saying that she is studying those girl keep visiting and they keep making excuses." His mother said, "Really, that's strange." His father smiled and said, "I think she is just like our Hikaru." Mizuhara said, "Yeah, just as boring as Hikaru." His father said, "No, I meant she must not like meeting new people and making new friends." Everyone nodded. Hikaru said, "Dad, I have to sleep." His dad patted his back, saying, "Alright, go." Hikaru stood up and started walking.

He entered his room, walked around using his phone, then put it down and went to chang his clothes. As he came back, he noticed the moonlight was brighter than usual he then stand at the window looked outside; no one was around since it was late at night. Hikaru gazed at the moon and wondered, "Why is it brighter than usual?" As he looked at the house in front where Kaneko family lived, he saw a girl sitting on her window. She looked beautiful with long hair floating in the air, holding a rose and sniffing it with closed eyes. Hikaru, gazing at her, was captivated. The girl smiled, got down from the window, and as she was about to close it, she noticed Hikaru gazing at her. Their eyes met, and both of them were fixated on each other.
