Chapter 17

Yiana, sighed at him, he was still busy with his book, apparently he was trying to find a way to save Amy, she was certain. He drew so fond of her such short time. Of course, five years is not that short but compared to the years she knew him, it certainly appeared short. She knew him from Adams, since they were still child. She loved him and she still do. Why can't he see it? Or is it that he no longer loved her? She finds the substitute answer too painful to digest.  Or she should give him time. "My love for you is here Simon, and I will make sure that you admit yours soon…."

"Jon, have you read this?" He said, peaking into the old page of the papyrus book, he got from the bag Mark was carrying. "Do you think that the path of truth exists?" He himself wanted to know that, as he never got any book referring to that legendry path that was the door to heaven and hell itself. It was the path where anyone who dared to find it, might turned them crazy. Many wizards had tried to find that path, but no one knows where to begin. Some even went for it but never returned. No one knows what happened to them.

"We had tried to find it, but unfortunately, no one knows if it's just legend or truth." Jon accepted.

"But yet, one thing is sure, that whatever rumors we know about it, is the truth." Mark added with certainty. "Think about it, we all know that our world is the blessing from both heaven and hell and the legend do acceded that it reveals the truth about one true soul. It has the protection power that bided them together and that make them work together and not separately."

"But Mark, how can we trust these?" Simon asked, finding his curiosity at the top. "I mean, I read every book about Bewix but still I never got on single book on the path of truth."

"It is because no one knows what to write or how to write." Mark added. "Tell me your majesty do you know what elements protect our world?"

"The white pearl of the seven seas, the golden shine of the sun, the ice of pizzards, and the star of the night….."

"And?" Mark added.

"And what?"

"The one that is the beyond of all power." Jon added, with a funny smirk in his eyes.

"What is it?" Simon asked again. He knows that only these four factors contributed with his world, then what is the last one? Why they never told anyone about that?

"It is one factor bided to the path of truth. It is one secret that only the elders know about it." Mark added with another sense of curiosity.

" Do you why your aunt insisted that Alex should marry the queen of the seven seas?" Jon asked with another shrugged.

"No."

"Because the white pearl of the sea is equivalent to the power of the fifth element. Not at hundred percent but still it can replace the fifth element and if the king of Bewix and the queen of the seven seas were bided in matrimony then obviously the pearl would belong to us." Mark explained.

"But why?" Simon finds another hint of curiosity affect him. Why would his uncle try to get more power? He had too many powers already. He was the giver of the land. He created that land.

"Your majesty, I think it's better if we keep things the way it is." Mark interrupted before Jon answered any more question.

"Why do I have the feeling that you both knows more than you pretend to." Simon taunted. "Tell me."

"Yes, your majesty but we are not allowed to tell any of them."

The night was longer and more painful than ever. She never anticipated that she would feels so much pain even in the land where love is worshiped. Amy walked into the shower, still limping in pain. She stood under the warm water falling off the shower. It was time for her to start her lecture. She has to meet her teacher. She took the fresh white towel and wiped off the drops of water from her body. Some burning traces were already formed in her nerves. And it was all over her body. Black and thin red lines like vines were wrapped on around her. Dark circle around her eyes and tiredness as she breathes. She felt forlorn and empty. She paced around the room, still pondering about her life. So much confusion and anxiety she couldn't put a finger on how to stop it.

"Prinessyiana…." A soft voice woke her up and it was calling for her. It came from the dense forest of the night kingdom. It was surely another ruse of the genies that loomed into the surrounding. "Come to me..princessYiana….i can help you win him back. I have the power that can help you, princess yiana….come to me." Yiana, was already out and was unconsciously following the faded voice outside the protection spell they drawn.  The scene was silence and tempting. They were as sleep and unaware of the blunder she was going to commit.  One black figure was standing in front of her and was staring at her. His tallness almost shadowed the full moon light.  His hairs thin and tied as a pony tail. His eyes reflected the whiteness of the moon shine. She stood wordless looking at him with another weak shrugged. She finally felt into his trap. She felt warm tears flowing off her eyes now. Thoughts that came into her mind were the worst of all. She desperately fell on her knees and try to resist the temptation to his strength. Her feet were all smooth and weak now. She can't even feel the bones in her knees.

She walked into the study. The room was still deserted apart from the books on the shelf. She was supposed to meet her teacher here. Someone that Simon has hired for her, someone that would teach her about Bewix and some magic spells that she might use. If she weren't that in pain she would have feel excited about learning. But considering the present situation she prefers stay sleeping for the rest of her life. "Welcome Amy…." That voice seemed familiar.

"Alex?" She whispered. "I had an audience with my instructor."

"And you are looking at him." He said and walked closer to her. He touched her cheeks slowly and gently. She shivered and back off. "Actually I talked with jack and asked him to give me the permission to be your trainer. I needed to be with you and ensure that you are doing fine." He guided her through the two first shelves. A round teak table was placed in the middle between the shelves. Heavy books were kept on it. "These are some books that might help you." Alex explained. "Here….." He looked for a golden one and opened it. "This is the history past, present and future of Bewix. Past because it tells the story of our ancestors. Present because it reveals the answer we seek and future because it gives us a glimpse on our next moment. But mind you the pages in these books keep changing accordingly to the present we are living.I'll show some kingdom and places we have here. Every place has its own history bided to it."

"History? I thought that Bewix had only one history." Amy prompted. Simon did told her briefly about their land. About his great greatgreat  grandfather found this land and made that pact with heaven and hell and ask for the permission of the sea to build his kingdom here and allows a new abode.

"Yes, but that same history is divided into several parts that we tend to ignore sometime." Alex said again. "This is the village of the elves…." He showed her a calligraphic design that looked like a drawn map of the whole kingdom of Bewix. She remembered the village of elves, as it was the first village they encountered when they entered the portal. And the Shiver River, the magical river with the pure water and warm water. But apparently it got contaminated and that's why they nearly drown when they fell in it. "The village of the elves pertains the greatest part of intelligence. They may have the worst appearance ever but they have the most cunning and knowledge of everything." He paused and then turned the next page, the green veins followed the next page as well. "That's the wailing forest. It always rains in these parts of the kingdom. Maybe at most it might just rain a few drops but otherwise it is always cold." He explained. He remembered how he loved to play in this forest when he was five and Simon four. They would ran fast paced against the big and heavy drops of rains falling off the clouds. "I remember once my aunt told me that the drops of rains were the nectar from the heaven that kept on falling on us. She said that every time on drop of rain touched our land, it meant that we still have their blessing. We should always respect and accept their decision." A glimpse of sadness roamed into his eyes. "Actually my aunt said that it came from my mother, everything she said."

"Where is she?" Amy suddenly broke the silence. It took his more than one moment to react to that. But eventually he nodded.

"My father and mother vanquished off our land. No one knows where they'd be. It's been so many years now." His voice lowered as he spoke. "I have my aunt and my grams only. Even my uncle was..."

She blinked her eyes, almost regretting about being so nosy about him. "I'm sorry. I lost my parents as well. I have my uncle and aunt that now take care of me. And my grandfather of course." She now realized how much she misses her family.

"You miss them?"

"Yes, more than I can't even imagine. I guess Family is one phase that binds us to our life. Sometime, I feel that if I didn't have them, how my life would have been. Empty and useless, I guess."

"I know." He ran his fingers alongside her arms and watched as she winced. "What is it?"

Burning lines were formed alongside her arms, like bracelets. And small black dots were starting to show up. Maybe that was another phase of the spell, or was it because she was fighting against it? He felt a pain in his heart as he shrugged. And he remembered her words….i saw death during the process….. "Amy, did you have any vision or usual dreams?"

"No, not that I remember."

"How could you be so careless, don't you know how important is it for you?" he yelled, without realizing the tension he was projecting at her. "I thought you would be much more mature than that, I was wrong."

"Hey calm down will you..." she simply said. How dare he yell at her that way? no one ever used such harsh tone with her before, not even her aunt and uncle.

"Calm down?" His voice was more severe and sharp this time, as if he lost his patience. "Amy, you are one careless girl I ever saw, now I even doubt that you belong to one of us…we would never let go such important thing about ourselves."

"Oh that would explain how matured you were when you decided to marry the one your own brother loved….." she could feel the blood pounding from her heart.

"That's out of content."

"Really how about the fact when you kissed me…how would you describe that? Or for the fact that you completely denied talking into it when I asked you?"

"Amy, this is not the important decision we have to decide for right now."

Before she said anything, a gentle knock at the door startled them. It was Jack. "Hello, sorry to disturbed, I needed a book for my lecture." He walked into the room. "Amy, how is your training going?"

"If you would call that training….." she helped herself off the chair and walked towards the stairs case with the heavy books he gave her.
