She embodied sensuality and undeniable charm that no man or woman could deny. Whether they were upright or bent, everyone's gaze was pulled to her. Her smile, frown, and every slight movement she made were enough to affect one’s mentality for the whole day. She was the charmer who was appointed and recognized by everyone in the school, whether they were teachers or students. She was that popular. In this charmer's world, there was no such thing as love. Love was a disease that perverted people's minds and led them astray, and she didn't want to live in such a world. But everything changed when he unexpectedly marched into her life, surprising her. Forcing her to break down the barriers she had up for more than two decades. He was the only one who was present. And he wasn't afraid to take what he wanted since he had the means. For him, being in love was a waste of time, and being faithful to one person was not his strong suit. Why bother investing in a single tree when he could own the entire forest? And when he saw her, his life was turned upside down. For him, it was love at first sight. He disliked it at first but eventually came to respect and like it. This sensation was novel to him and seemed unreal. He was completely in love with her, but her defenses were far too high and strong for him to break through. Will this prince charming and playboy from another school be able to captivate and seduce the school charmer? Will she be able to tear down the barriers she had built to allow him entry into her world, or will she continue to keep him at a distance?
She was in a bad mood even when the bus reached Okasa.
He didn't call her at all, and she was looking forward to his call. Whether on her phone with him using another number or with him contacting her friends.
He didn't do any of that and her mood plummeted.
They reached Okasa at around three in the morning. And everyone was just sleepy and tired.
A few people had noticed her mood, but it was only those who were very close to her.
And especially those from the F5 gang could tell that something was wrong, and they had ideas about what was going on.
Although it was still early in the morning. The group of one hundred made their way to where the ship was docked.
And since it was carrying only their group; they had a monopoly over the ship's first trip for that day.
However, since it was still early and dark, the ship couldn't leave. So, the group just settled down on the ship as they took a rest that they all needed.
Sitting on top of a bed with clear eyes that showed no signs of sleeping, Darica was playing with her phone, with her expression unreadable.
Opposite her was Yuka, who seemed to be contemplating life as she read something on her phone and took peeks at Darica.
That continued for a while until Yuka slammed her phone on the bed angrily and glared at Darica.
Hearing the sound of something being slammed. Darica whose thoughts were far away, finally returned home. She looked puzzledly at Yuka. Wondering who had pissed the young girl off for her to react that way.
Quickly setting aside her bad mood, she was now a bit worried about Yuka, for she was quick-tempered and easily got flared up.
Yuka was the kind of person that, if left unmonitored, she would be found in a brawl the next second. That's how crazy she could be at times.
"What's wrong with you?" Darica asked with concern visible in her eyes as she looked at Yuka, who was huffing and looking like she would explode at any second.
Yuka glared at Darica and felt like slamming Darica instead of the phone.
Why was she showing concern and worry all of a sudden?
Didn't she know who made her that angry?
Why was she concerned about other people when her life wasn't even that straight?
That was the major problem of Darica. Ever since she took the role of the leader, four years ago. She began to shoulder everything by herself.
Every second she would be worrying about this and that. About the other family members while neglecting herself in the process.
Who hasn't seen all the sacrifices she made in the past four years?
She didn't even need to do it at all. She would have just abandoned them and washed her hands off them, but she carried that with her, and four years later, she didn't want to believe it, but they were all together.
She was indeed happy that the family was together and even increased in the past four years. But with the growth of the family, Darica's burdens also increased, which resulted in her putting everyone else above her and neglecting herself.
She was turning twenty-four, for crying out loud. Why wasn't she acting her age and at least tasting the sweetness or sourness of what all of them were interested in?
However, there was one thing that Yuka understood. If she didn't tell Darica about it, the other would just act like she didn't know and would keep it that way.
She could tell how much the other was struggling, and since she didn't want to open her eyes herself, she might as well do the other a favor and enlighten her.
Even if she would get punished for it later, she wasn't going to regret what she was about to do.
"Boss, no, I won't call you that. I will call you by name, Darica. You asked me who pissed me off?" Yuka started strong, shocking Darica who wasn't expecting something like that from Yuka at all.
Looking at the fuming Yuka, whose blue eyes were dilating the more she spoke, Darica finally realized that she was the one who had pissed the young girl off.
But how did she even do that? And why was the other suddenly speaking so disrespectfully all of a sudden?
"Have you ever, for once, asked yourself what you want in life? I know that we are very important to you and as our leader and boss, the burden is on your shoulders. But Darica, the family can still take care of itself. Have you already forgotten about the many projects we have been taking part in these past few years?" Yuka asked angrily while taking a breath as she looked at Darica without blinking an eye.
She was afraid that if she allowed Darica to respond before she finished letting everything out, Darica was going to overpower her and she didn't want that.
So, she continued not giving Darica a chance to retort and threw a barrage of questions, "You can never finish everyone's problems. They will always be there no matter how many you solve. But have you ever wondered with how hard you overwork yourself, what will happen if you fall? What do you think will happen to those fifteen-year-olds who look up to you? What about us who had followed you all these years and still want to do so in the future? What if you get sick? Just because you are our leader, must you really forsake your happiness?"
"Why can't you be selfish for just once and be happy? I know that this might sound as if I am crossing the line with you, but I am afraid that I must say it. I know that at times I act confusingly, but trust me this time, I am serious about this."
"You know, we all know, and they all know about it. He loves you and looking at you right now, I finally confirmed it, which is why I am being this bold to say it. You have feelings for him, don't you? Then why aren't you giving him a chance? We won't know anything unless we try it. So, why don't you give yourself a chance? If it doesn't work, then you are allowed to raise a white flag and let go."
"You are more of a sister to me; Darica and I truly want to see you happy. And though I don't want to admit it, Duke really is into you and it will be a pity if you let him go. A life full of regrets isn't something that you would want. I did it once and I don't want to repeat it ever again," with a regretful expression on her face, Yuka lamented as her gaze remained locked with Darica.
