Chap. 6 Shocking Moment

April is sad but at the same time emotional, seeing the struggles of Logan, her childhood friend. The room on the second floor instantly became silent. They stared at each other for a moment, then April hugged Logan.

"Logan...."

"Apr., I've done the best I can do. It's going to work."

"Thank you, Logan."

Logan, who's had a crush on April since he was a teenager, didn't answer. The room on the boutique's second floor is neatly arranged, with a modern style that adds to the impression of luxury and course, classy. The boutique is a subscription to a famous person in New York. Artists, entrepreneurs, artists, and crazy rich people. The room was luxurious and neatly arranged, contrary to what Logan felt. "Yes. But do you know his other nicknames?"

"No, Mr. Sneijder."

"Miss, call me Bob."

"All right, Bob." April rolled her eyes.

"The City That Never Sleeps. People call this city that nickname." Bob then moved away, brought the brush to his lips, and sang.

A song could be heard drifting from Bob's lips. Unexpectedly, the burly but graceful man has a voice that is no less melodic than a professional singer who often performs infamous cafes in big cities. April cracked a smile, imagining Sean's fantastic reaction when he saw her.

"New York, New York." Frank Sinarta sang that song in 1980. "And when I finish dressing you when Sean Johanson sees, his feelings will grow and wake up to you, never to sleep, forever. Like this town, honey."

"Really?" said April for sure.

"I bet my reputation on it, Miss Archer." They smile.

Bob managed to turn April into a duplicate of Camila, modern and sexy. She is wearing a cream-colored knee-length dress, glittering knick-knacks, and not too much makeup on her face. Bob marveled at his handiwork.

"Miss Archer, you are so lit!"

Such a model style is not her for a nerd and a girl next door like April. She reflected, 'this is not me, but I am wonderful and charming, wait for me, Sean.' She thought. She looked in the mirror once again. Looking at the mirror's reflection, she saw Camila Meyer, Sean's lover. 'It's not me,' she thought. Camila's figure in the mirror smiled at her. "Sean, I'm coming," April encouraged herself.

Logan, who had been waiting in the waiting room for the umpteenth time, fell in love with the woman, April Archer. Significantly few people repeatedly fall in love with the same person, but that's how Logan felt. When he saw April, he fell in love again. 'Maybe this is the millionth time, April,' he thought.

"Do I look tacky, Log?"

"You are wonderful, Princess. Let's go."

"Logan?" asked Bob, frowning.

"Check your account, your balance must have swelled by now. Hahaha."

Logan and April leave. He opened the car door for April. The blue Rolls-Royce Boat Tail car looks perfect with April. Logan opened the door for April, "please, princess."

April entered gracefully. Before Logan got into the car, he was in awe of his best friend. They have been friends since childhood and are now adults. Friendships are pretty solid for people who live in big cities like New York.

"April, you're so beautiful," shouted Logan as he just got into the car.

Logan today kept his word. The promise he made to April back then to help her win Sean's heart. Even with a broken heart, as a man who loves April, he is happy to be able to help April find her love. It was drizzling down over New York City and slowly turning to rain. April and Logan strolled through the wet, restless New York City evening streets nestled in their chests.

"Dear ...."

Camila clung to Sean.

"Are you trying to stay away from me?" she asked, looking into Sean's eyes.

"No, I did have a business, now it's over. Did you miss me?" Sean embraced his girlfriend.

Their noses rubbed gently, Camila wanted to smack those lips, but she held it in. She wanted to know more about what happened to Sean that day. She tried to dig it up.

"Sean, where have you been?"

"Rose Corp Building, I have an important meeting. Our business cooperation will continue for the next five years."

"Really?"

"Do you think I'm lying? Can anyone lie in front of these beautiful eyes?" Sean looked reassuringly.

"Are you busy?" Camila replied.

"Five minutes later, have a meeting."

A quickie is just what they do for super busy lovers like Camila and Sean. The office, the toilet, the workspace, the car, or the office warehouse.

"Believe me, honey. It will be quick." Camila closed her eyes. That warm kiss will be the beginning of satisfaction and loss.

In front of the Johanson Corp building, April once again looked at Logan. For the umpteenth time, with a broken heart, Logan cheers April.

"Believe me, Apr. Sean will be blown away. He's going to leave Camila for you. You have to believe in yourself. Come on, pretty, enter that building."

"But, Log ...." April said warily.

"I don't know what to do. What should I do after entering his room? Hug him? Kiss him? Ask him to make love? Do you believe that a nerd like me can do all that?"

"April. Because I believe in you, you have to prove it. It will end beautifully. See? After this rain the New York City sky will be decorated with a beautiful rainbow. The rainbow will come from your happiness. Come on, Apr what are you waiting for?"

The two of them then entered the Johanson Corp building. Even though they were told Sean had a guest, they had to wait in the lobby, but the receptionist couldn't stop them. She knew the status of the two of them: the receptionist called Amy, Sean's secretary.

"Amy, Mr. Knight, and Miss Archer are heading to Mr. Sean's study. I can't stop them."

"I'll see them."

Amy rushed. Unexpectedly, he met Logan and April in front of the elevator. She tried to stop them.

"Miss Archer, Mr. Sean is in a meeting."

April didn't care and kept walking. Opened the door. She saw Sean and Camila kissing passionately. The slurs and sighs sounded so loud to April.
