Chapter 39: The school party

The school party started well, different students participated for different events. Olivia won the best singer of her music club. She was thrilled and so excited. Peter won the King of the prestigious school. His queen was Anna ironically.

Anna was so excited for the award given to her as the queen of the whole school.

This was one of her dreams, and she was happy to be called the queen of the prestigious college, it was a memory she would never forget

The students all cheered them all.

"Let's welcome the king and his queen." said the MC, cheerfully

Everyone was shouting Anna and Peter to the stage.

Now it was time for calling the students for their awards in the studies. Everyone was all silent and waited eagerly for their results

"The best behaved student is Jacob Stone!" declared the MC suddenly

Everyone shouted happily and clapped their hands for Jacob.

Jacob came out to the stage happily and was standing beside Peter.

"The Best over all students in mathematics, English language is Olivia!" declared the MC

Olivia was thrilled and didn't know she could be awarded as the best overall students.

"My hard work finally pays. Thank you Lord!" said Olivia silently  and was joyful

"I'm so proud of you Olivia!" shouted Peter happily

"Thanks Peter." replied Olivia happily

"I'm proud of you Olivia!" screamed Anna joyfully as Olivia climbed the stage

They called other names of the students that were awarded. Finally award's was given to them all plus gifts.

"Let the music begin!" said the Master of the ceremony

Everyone rushed to the stage and started picking partners

"I'm so blessed and grateful to God!" said Olivia dancing with Peter

"I'm grateful too. How times flies. Finally we've finished secondary school. Thank God!" said Peter happily

"You know it's Saturday, grandma can't wait to see me back with my awards." Olivia danced and whirled and face Peter

"Yes I can't imagine the surprise on her!" said Peter smiling

"Hmmm!" replied Olivia cheerfully

"Yes I'm proud of you Olly. I was afraid and thought you wouldn't faced your studies well because you were staying with Mrs Smith." said Peter suddenly

"Really!" asked Olivia smiling

"I'm happy we finished our schools with best grades and finally happy with each other. I thought of so many bad things but thank God it didn't come to pass." confessed Peter innocently

"Not only you too. I thought I will loose my best friend because of Fred and Anita." said Olivia sincerely

"After closing here, we're going straight to your house right?" asked Peter

"Yes Peter." replied Olivia cheerfully

They both went to their Olivia's  house. Grandma was very excited to see the award Olivia's brought home both with the presents. She hugged Olivia affectionately and Peter was touched happily

"I forgot to mention it to you guys." said Olivia suddenly, looking at her grandma and her best friend smiling

"What's that?" said Peter and grandma unison

"I was given scholarship to study at Europe!" shouted Olivia joyfully

"Whoa! Olly?" asked grandma bewildered

"Yes granny!"replied Olivia smiling

Grandma embraced Olivia suddenly and started dancing at the same time singing for joy.

"Europe?" asked Peter again surprised

"Yes Peter!"replied Olivia

"I'm happy for you girl." said Peter and hugged her tenderly

"What about you too Peter?" asked Olivia suddenly

"I didn't apply for scholarships."replied Peter gently

"Why?"asked Olivia surprised

"I don't want to study far!" replied Peter softly

"Alright."said Olivia

"I will miss you Olly when you're gone." said Peter emotionally

"I will miss you too." replied Olivia

"I know I will miss us. Everything about us!" said Peter emotionally

"Hmmm!" interrupted grandma, suddenly, she stood up to enter the kitchen

"Yes grandma." said Peter softly

"I know you'll miss each other company!" agreed grandma, she entered inside the kitchen, and came out with a chocolate cake.

"You guys should eat this, I baked it in a special way." said grandma delighted

"Wow! Grandma. You didn't tell me you'd make a cake for me on my graduation day." said Olivia emotionally

"It's surprise sweetie!" replied grandma tenderly

"Wow cake, it's looks yummy!" exclaimed Peter

"Whoa! This taste yummy!" said Olivia with her mouth full of cakes

"Thanks and enjoy yourself." said grandma and she entered inside the room

"Peter, don't forget it's six o'clock we're leaving." announced Olivia after done eating the cake.

"Check the time now." said Peter

"We still have thirty minutes. Let's start going." replied Olivia hurriedly

"Grandma we're going out already." called Peter

"Alright Peter! And Olivia don't stay out for long." said grandma

"Yes granny, bye!" said Olivia rushed outside with Peter

Arriving at the lounge, different kids from different schools were sitting down, some were dancing to the music at the background. Olivia's friends Fred and his companions were sitting at edge closer to the door. Olivia entered inside the lounge with Peter. They were amazed with the crowd.

"Are you sure, it's here's where we're having the get together party?" asked Olivia looking around surprised

"I think yes. Annie told me it's here, " replied Peter affirmatively

"Peter! Olivia!" screamed Annie and she waved at them

"Annie!" Olivia and Peter said in unison

Olivia and Peter exchange pleasantries together with the guys before sitting down.

"I thought we were lost." said Olivia chuckled

"Really?" asked Annie

"Annie don't mind her, she's scared of the crowd." said Peter grinning

"Duh! Am not!" replied Olivia

"Olivia can't never be scared of people. She's courageous!" said Fred defended her

"Are we're all going to talk all throughout today without catching some fun?" asked Cece displeased with the conversation

"We will girl, just chill!" said Henry smiled

"And why's Annie joining us, didn't we called it final year party?" asked Cecilia irritated

"I'm invited, For your information!" Anita smirked at Cecilia

"Who else would have invited you if not for your bro!" Cecilia glared at her angrily

Henry was furious at Cecelia attitude

"You're wrong Cece. I intentionally ask her to join us!" said Henry defended her, and looked at Cecilia contemptuously

"Really why did you invited her since you know it's a seniors year party not for Juniors." said Cece adamantly

"Senior my foot. Remember Fred and I are just one year between. So I'm not just a junior student but also your age mate!" corrected Anita proudly

"It's alright Annie, just ignore her!" said Fred finally

"This is so downgrading!" screamed Cecelia silently

"If you're not comfortable you can leave!" said Henry cruelly

"Really? Are you just talking to me like that Henry?" surprised Cece at Henry sudden reaction to her

"Yes who're you? Just cut the crab and behave for once." said Henry annoyed

"Uhmn!" Cece was taken back, and the same time it looked like Henry just fired her a shot. She looked at Olivia,and caught her smiling "Witch!" cursed Cecilia inwardly

"This is our last school year party Cece, can't you just behave yourself and be nice to people around? Must you always always show yourself and looked down on others? Now we've graduated and I don't think this attitude of yours will take you anywhere!" said Henry harshly again and he unleashed everything he had been harbouring inside of him ever since the incident with Cecelia

"It's alright dude, don't let Cece spoil the fun for us tonight. Cheers to the success and victory at last!" said Fred lifted up his glass cup high

"Cheerssss!" Everyone shouted. Finally Olivia broke the good news to them about her scholarship.

"Whoa! Congrats Olivia!" said Henry happily

"Thanks Henry." smiled Olivia

"I will miss you Olivia!" said Henry

"Really?" asked Olivia surprisedly

"Yes! I will miss your beautiful face and your beautiful songs." added Henry grinning

"Wow! I will miss you too!" said Olivia joyfully

"I'm happy for you Olivia, my best half sis from another mother!" said Anita excitedly and she hugged her "And I will miss you so much!" said Anita emotionally, "When you get there make sure you call me everyday if not, don't bother coming back!" said Anita playfully

"I won't dare do that!" laughed Olivia and hugged her

"Are you also going with her Peter?" asked Henry playfully

"I'm not going duh. I didn't applied for the scholarship." replied Peter grinned

"But you're guys are best friends. You attended the same school and why not the same college?" asked Henry chuckled

"We have different choice Henry. Europe is not my first choice!" pointed Peter

"Alright!" said Henry satisfied with Peter response

"Congratulations Olivia!" said Cece suddenly

Everyone was amazed and she continued again "And Fred will you be going there too?" Cecelia blurted out, she wanted to mimicked Henry and it turned out to be a sarcasm and it was obvious in her voice

"Going there?" asked Fred amused and everyone laughed out loud and Cecelia was embarrassed.

"What's funny now? are you studying there too or not?" said Cecelia angrily

"You're the one that's funny. I might study there if I wished to." replied Fred and smiled at Olivia.

Cecelia saw that and knew the game is up. Fred love Olivia and there was nothing she could do anymore. Finally she gave up.

"It's time to go guys." said Peter and she beckoned to Olivia for them to leave

"Let's go home guys. We wish everyone a safe trip home." said Fred and he was holding Olivia's hands affectionately and Annie was holding Peter hands, while Henry was walking away out by his side and suddenly Cece appeared beside him.

"What?" asked Henry and he stopped walking and turned

"I'm sorry earlier!" said Cece pleading

"About what?" asked Henry. He wasn't sure of what Cecelia was saying

"The way I acted, can you please forgive me for my bad attitude." said Cecelia gently

"Alright it's fine." replied Henry and started walking away

"Wait!" shouted Cecelia

"What's that?" Henry stopped again and looked at her puzzled

"I like you Henry. I just didn't realize it since." Cecelia finally declared her feeling out to him, and she was looking at him affectionately.

"Oh about that. Let's forget it!" said Henry rigidly and started walking away

"Wait, Henry please I mean it!' Cecelia started running after him but he ignored her pleading

Henry was happy inwardly, pretending not to show his excitement as Cecelia eventually declared her feelings, he thought he needed to teach her a lesson too, for the way she looked down on her in the beginning.

Olivia and Fred continued their love story. Peter and Anita wasn't left out.
