When he woke, Wilt found himself lying flat on his front. Putting in the strength, he up stood on his feet. As wide as his eyes expanded, lava. Red hot magma boiling and popping all around.
He was standing on a narrow causeway of obsidian, parting the ocean of red water into two. The sky wad dyed in crimson and silver with thunder clouds looming. He could hear the thunder crackling.
The paradise he had hoped for, this was nothing like it. The white sky wasn't white and water wasn't nectar but magma.
" What? Where-"
" Wilt." A voice called out to him. Wilt's ears erected and he turned with a jerk. A long elevated floor with staircase emerged out of nowhere.
Trailing his eyes up the steps , few figures entered his vision. Ten women and a man sitting on a throne of bones and skulls that didn't belong to a human or humanoid creature.
The beauty of each woman was distinctive and bewitching. They appeared anything but safe to approach. Their beauty wasn't angelic. It was devilish and hazardous.
But what caught Wilt's attention weren't the women but the man sitting infront of them. Before that man they lost their lustre. He slumped on one side with his hand supporting his head. Long red strands of hair dropping over his shoulders and a snowy complexion. Flames were dancing on his robes. Wilt could only stare at him dumbstruck.
" Who are you?" He could hardly speak of the majestic infront of him.
" Me? I think you should have know by now. I'm one of those beings your sect worships." His voice was like a sweet chorus.
" I don't understand."
" To fair it up for your apprehension. An eldrich god." He left his seat.
The man descended down the stairs and approached Wilt second by second. An eldrich god. That was what man described himself. Wilt was stupefied. Instead of his gods, he anchored in the opposite shore.
" Tuk*Tuk*Tuk*" The eldrich walked towards his way. Wilt's conscience was screeching to turn away and run but his body didn't heed.
At first he found it mootable but the surroundings that depicted cataclysm was too surreal to be false and the man infront of him. Ambling altrustically, radiating destruction and a wicked pride on his face, he couldn't be accounted on the same page as a lowly creature like Wilt.
" Why?" Wilt mumbled
" Hmm?" The eldrich halted.
" Why? Why?!! WHY!!!!!!!!!!! I should be with my gods!! You foul entity, why do I find you after my death!!?" Wilt growled angrily at the Supreme's face with all his fears fading before his anger. His blood simmered with fury.
" Awww! Even after death no maturity. You still have faith in that idiocy."
The eldrich wasn't offended in the slightest
and laughed.
" What are you getting at!!?"
" You think your God needs you. Ask me. He doesn't."
" Shut up you fucking liar! You robbed me of my salvation!" Fueled by rage, Wilt charged.
What was man infront of god? Before he was even aware, he started struggling for breath, five inches above ground. The eldrich had his throat clutched in his hands. The more his grip tightened , the less powerful Wilt ceded.
" Have you got balls of steel? Attacking almighty in his own domain." The eldrich smirked at Wilt's attempt.
He ceaselessly swinged his fists in air.
" Obsitnate even if you are terrified like a rodent."
" Kuuu!...Let..go...kill..." Wilt still had the will to continue his futile efforts.
The Eldrich sighed derisively and flinged the vermin in his grip onto the floor.
" Gah...!" Wilt heavily hit his back, unable to breath much less voice out his the pain. He felt his back breaking. Air didn't pass through his body.
Seeing the suffocating Wilt, the eldrich stomped on his chest. " Cough* Cough" Wilt sputtered out blood, his air tract opened again and he took a deep breath that was a gasp.
" Ready for the truth now? If you think your 'God' cares about you, you are gravely mistaken. Those gods you all wag your tail at are much of a bastard like we are."
" You are lying." Wilt spoke saplessly.
" Clearing your misconceptions, neither virtuous souls go to gods nor sinfull one's comes to us. We higher beings are only interested in special souls and you Wilt, are too much of a pest to those fuckers to even spare you their shit. Once dead, it's the end. Your soul evanishes."
Each one of his grating words bruised Wilt's heart.
" So is that it? Was my life a lie?"
" Yes. You were the architect of your own demise." He wished to give no leniency or comfort through his words.
That was enough to break Wilt in the true sense of word. His credence shattered to fragments. He had no reason to doubt the eldrich. If God really oversaw him, he shouldn't had been the guest of a demon.
He ravaged his life chasing after a chimera.
Wilt's face was devoid of any emotion after knowing his foolishness
" That despondent look on your face. So you finally attained the enlightenment of a life time. Yes, there is no sin nor merit for there is no good or evil. Take what is given, steal what is denied, kill to survive. That is the true meaning of life."
The eldrich's words of wisdom were of no use to Wilt. It's already too late for him.
" Why did you waste your time on me then? You should have just let me vanish. What should I do from now on.?" He asked blankly.
" That's up to you. If you wish I can let your soul wither or give you your last chance. Your call.'
Energy gathered in Wilt's body again and his face regained it's former vigor listening to the Eldrich's words similar to bells ringing.
" You can send me back?" He asked with his last shred of hope.
" Do you wish to live? Why?"
" To give meaning to my life. Anyway necessary." Wilt found no reason to lie.
A malicious grin broke out of the Eldrich's lips. " I might consider it but you are somewhat lacking in resolve."
" What do I need to prove?" Wilt said anyway necessary and he meant it.
" What are your limits? Snap*!"
