I am Orion

Remi came back to her senses with the sound of police sirens, she quickly ran away towards an alleyway. When she thought that she was finally far enough she stopped to catch her breath, but at that moment someone came behind her. Before she could confront him, a hand was pressed on her face and she was dragged to a dark corner.

The man's cologne entered her nose and she recognised who the owner was 'Rowan'

Knowing that it was Rowan she stopped struggling she knew that Rowan had his reasons and she was right because at that moment a boy who was huffing and panting ran over. He was holding a phone e in his hand and anxiously looked around before choosing a random direction to follow, when he was finally gone Rowan released her.

"How did you...find me" she asked breathlessly.

Rowan couldn't help but frown upon seeing her condition "why were you crying? What did that man do to you?"

Hearing this, Remi was reminded of that man again, Frank. He had gambled away his own sister's house and had alot of debts, his sister who was Rowan's mom could no longer tolerate him so she cut ties with him. Orion thought Frank was pitiful and deserved a second chance, once he graduated Orion hired him to work for his family's business since he was so capable. When he complained of his salary Orion gave him a raise, when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, orion helped pay for her treatment but in the end he was the one who shot the embarrassing video of him literally choking to death.

He was Remi's first suspect, she suspected that Frank was just a pawn who would take the fall if things went haywire because she believes that Frank was incapable of plotting to kill Orion.

Even so, she still felt very angry and hurt for his betrayal. When she finally vented out her anger on him what came after was the tears, she had suppressed them for too long, she felt wronged and aggrieved.

She tried to fight them off but the tears still rolled down her cheeks, she felt like supressing a girl's tears was like trying to push back an entire ocen. It was simply impossible.

Rowan didn't know what to do when he suddenly saw the usually stubborn girl cry, he just stood there looking awkward as Remi burried her face in her hands.

While she wasn't looking, he secretly googled 'what to do when a girl cries'. The results weren't very helpful since he was advised to just let her cry, so he just continued to stand there feeling awkward and uncomfortable as she cried.

Once Remi calmed down and came to her senses, she felt embarrassed and turned away.

"Am going home" she said in a hoarse voice.

"I will drop you off" he offered feeling glad he could finally do something.

"No am fine...l need to be alone" she said as she slowly walked away but she ended up staggering and was caught by Rowan.

"You aren't fine" Rowan said while picking her up princess style.

Remi was felt too tired and dizzy to resist.

Reaching his car, Rowan carefully placed Remi in the backseat before making a call.

"Make sure uncle doesn't say anything to the police, tell him if he dares to file a complaint then I'll makesure he's jobless no matter where he goes. Also....apprehend him when he's freed, l have some questions.

He looked at the sleeping girl at the back of his car with a conflicted expression before driving off.

Remi felt woozy when she opened her eyes again , it was too dark she couldn't see anything and her stomach felt very uncomfortable. When she tried to lift her hands she discovered that she couldn't. She immediately became alert and realised that she had been bound to a chair.

"What the heck!"

"Oh, you are awake" a man's voice could be heard.

"You kidnapped me?" She frowned.

"Easy there, aren't you curious why l did?" He asked.

"What am curious about is to why your friend isn't saying anything. Does he think because he's silent then l won't discover his presence?" Remi said angrily.

"He's my boss, of course I have to speak on his behalf" the man sneered.

"Coward! Why did you kidnap me Rowan?" Remi yelled.

"What gave me away?" Rowan said sarcastically.

"Anyone can smell that stupid collogne from miles away" Remi was oblivious to his sarcasm.

Rowan said nonchalantly "It's not like I was trying to hide anyway. Afterall, I kidnapped you when you were still conscious"

Remi didn't feel an ounce of fear when she discovered that she had been bound to a chair, the moment she smelt the cologne she realised who was responsible. And knowing that it was Rowan made her very angry, how many times was he going to treat her like this? He betrayed her trust again, was she supposed to forgive him? For all she knew, he might even be responsible for Orion's death.

"Then why blindfold me?" She asked.

"To see if you are just some stupid fool with a series of coincidences or you are actually very smart and have a lot of secrets that i'm interested in prying" Rowan said as he walked towards her and removed the blindfold.

"Turns out...you are the later" Rowan said.

Remi's fierce eyes met his beautiful cold eyes "cut the crap and go straight to the point"

"Straightforward, l like it" he nodded in approval

before saying "do you know what gave you away?"

Maya looked at him with anger still on her face but there was a hint of confusion in her eyes "Do you think that you are in movie ?"

Rowan ignored her and raised a finger to make a circle gesture around her face "that's what gave you away. You are clearly just a 15 years old girl but you don't act like one at all. In a normal situation, a 15 years old girl would be frightened and cry if she got kidnapped...but you...I only see anger on your face. Why are you angry Remi?"

Remi purses her lips, she knew that nothing good would come out of exposing her situation. If anyone knew about it, they would either lock her up in a mental asylum if they don't believe her or experiment on her if they believed her. Even worse, if Rowan was really her killer then he would just silence her again and she would never find out the truth.

"Keeping quiet only makes you look more guilty" Rowan said flatly, for some reason, Remi felt that he was extremely colder than usual.

"It's a stupid reason to kidnap me just because you are suspicious that am not a normal girl" Remi chuckled mockingly.

"Since you are so smart, then you should know that I won't let you go until you give me answers." Rowan said sternly as he gestured for his trusted aides to leave.

He dragged a chair over, sat down and started counting his fingers "let me narrow down things for you. One, you know about the morning glory diner. Two, l caught you sneaking into Orion's study room. Three, you suddenly became extremely smart. Four, you fight using the same martial arts as me. Five, you went crazy, beat up my uncle and got all emotional. Do you know what all these have in common?"

Seeing that Remi was in a daze, Rowan felt that he was on the right path so he answered himself "Almost everything you do or get involved with has a connection to Orion"

Remi's eyes widened, Rowan wasn't so smart to notice all these small details on his own "How did you-"

"How did l know? Easy...I sent a friend to follow you around everyday" Rowan said.

Remi's heated up "that's invasion of privacy!"

Rowan narrowed his eyes and said in an icy voice "It was a necessary step, how else would l have discovered that you have such a deep connection with Orion. Now tell me, what is your relation to Orion? Think about it carefully, if you refuse to speak then I will keep you here forever until you give me a satisfying answer."

Remi suppressed the growing discomfort in her stomach and suddenly smiled "you caught me bud, there is no point in lying anyway. You are right, the reason why l know so much about Orion despite having never met him personally is simply because... I am Orion himself.
