Ben 10: The Morningstar

Michael Morningstar, also known as Darkstar, was a powerful and extremely talented young man with a prestigious background who was also a fervent nemesis of the legendary Benjamin Tennyson, the wielder of the Omnitrix and savior of the universe. He was a young man who had unlimited potential but failed each time in his endeavours, just because he didn't have the wisdom and the cunning to use what he inherited due to his heritage. A young man who became blindsided by his crippling need for vengeance and his lust for power, sending him tunneling down an endless pit of failure and disappointment. A young man who despite his best efforts, failed to leave any significant mark in the universe or even his own small world for that matter while his rivals and enemies left their indelible vestiges across the universe. A young man destined to be forgotten... ...But what if, there was a change? Something different. What if, there was a new Michael Morningstar? A person worthy of such a heritage and power with what it takes to achieve his fullest potential. Someone who would defy the fates and overwrite his fortune, creating and treading a new path, one that would lead him to astounding greatness and untold fortune. An individual who would stretch out his hand to grab the very fabric of the Cosmos, reshaping and molding it in his image... An anomaly whose boundless ambition would make even the Omnipotent Beings who presided over the entire Cosmos tremble in fear. ...The Morningstar who would transcend everything with no one to stop him... ●Disclaimer● I do not own any of the Ben 10 characters or original stories, only the plot of this fanfic and the characters of my creation. The Massacre I

The moment my camouflage disappeared, the leader's eyes widened as he quickly raised his head to look at me while I stretched forth my right hand at him.

My energy rumbled and channeled from my hand into my palm, coalescing into a small but concentrated golden ball of energy that crackled like electricity in the air, echoing all over the place.

First things first, the leader had to be eliminated.

"Shit, take cover!" The leader screamed to his subordinates who were now realizing their situation. But before he could take any action, I shot the ball at him. It reached him almost instantly.

A loud thunderous boom ensued as the ball exploded, scattering debris and bloody limbs all over the place and creating black smoke that billowed and covered around the spot of impact.

A body came out from the smoke and flew speedily to plow through one of the stacks of crates and finally hit the wall with a big bang, the destroyed crates falling and covering his body.

The rest of the shockwave and residual heat of the explosion hit the row of men closest to the impact, hurling some of the men away and searing the flesh of the rest of them.

"Ahhh!"

"No, no! My eyes!"

"Aaagh! It burns! Someone help me ahhh!"

Their loud screams of anguish and pain reverberated everywhere as my left hand went to a small rectangular device strapped to the side of my belt.

"Bastard! Kill him!" One of the men further from the explosion raged as he stumbled but collected himself, aiming and pointing his rifle at me. The rest of the uninjured men did the same.

They immediately started firing at me, their guns spewing out purple bursts of energized plasma that sounded like the air cracking or popping accompanied by high pitched whine.

The energy bursts were fast, but before they could reach me, I pressed a button, and immediately the air around me shimmered.

The energy blasts reached me the next moment, but they couldn't touch my figure. They dispersed and scattered upon contacting a transparent screen that surrounded my body, like a sphere or bubble, with a sizzling sound.

I smirked smugly when I saw the surprised looks on their faces. This was the effect of a Deflector in use.

A device that surrounded the user in a transparent and highly compressed spherical electromagnetic field, protecting the user from harm by warping and repelling the energy.

The one I had was used for defending against some types of pure energy attacks, plasma, for example. My body, even covered by my aura, couldn't withstand attacks of this caliber.

I would be burnt to a crisp or even vaporized if I took plasma attacks head-on, hence, the deflector.

The only downside of this device was, I couldn't unleash any attack when it was on as the same field that repelled energy also confined internal energy. But with my speed and mobility, that wasn't a problem for me.

All in all, it was the perfect defense for these sorts of attacks, and with it, here, I was practically invincible...

Two shots impacted the shield behind me, and turning my head, I saw the two guards who were outside dash into the room, their rifles aimed at me. Tens of more shots came from my front, hitting and scattering as they hit it.

The attacks didn't let up as they continued to fire more and more on my shield, as the men edged closer to me with two more of the men coming into the room who also started shooting when they saw me.

Quickly, I flew out of the way by moving to the left side, dodging the blasts, and pressed on the device to deactivate the shield.

The next moment, I concentrated my energy into my left hand and released it as a long narrow beam of crackling golden energy towards the majority of the men who were on my left.

The beam easily cut cleanly through a considerable number of men in a straight line, blasting most of them into bits and pieces of bloody human flesh and destroying the ground in a shower of dirt and debris.

Without wasting much time, as copious amounts of dust, smoke, and agonized screams covered the left side of the room, shielding their view, I shot another narrow beam of energy towards the right side of the room, towards the four men who came from the outside.

The beam went through one man, leaving a giant hole in his body, and before the other three could retaliate, I moved the beam towards them in a horizontal manner.

The narrow beam easily sliced through them like a hot knife through butter, bifurcating them, as the top side of their bodies slid to the floor, making their blood and innards pour onto the floor, painting it in a sea of red.

The dust and smoke cleared on the left side, and more men came out, their faces marred with blood, dust, or smoke, and their eyes red, all of them shooting bursts of plasma at me.

I pressed the button just as they started shooting at me and slid out of the way, flying to take cover behind some of the stacked piles of crates after my shield deflected some shots.

"Don't shoot the fucking crates!" A loud voice brimming with hate, which I recognized as Andreas', commanded. "Surround them and cut him off! The person who manages to kill this motherfucker gets ten grand from me."

I smiled when I heard this and moved stealthily to another portion of the room that also had piles of crates stacked high, creating a mini wall.

I took in a deep breath to relax, my chest heaving slightly, as I heard numerous footsteps moving all over the place. My heart pumping rapidly as my blood and energy boiled in excitement.

"I don't know who or what you are or who sent you, but you've signed your death warrant by attacking us," Andreas growled as the men searched for me, many of them shouting all sorts of profanities directed at me.

"You can either come out and peacefully surrender so that we can ionize you slowly into particles."

"Or we can catch you and painfully torture you for days or even weeks until you beg whatever God you worship for death which won't be granted to you."

"It's your choice, mister," he threatened seriously, and I could hear some of the crates being pushed onto the ground as the men searched impatiently and recklessly.

If I were him, I would've commanded them to shoot at all of the crates, creating a massive explosion that would've deprived me of any place of hiding, or better yet, kill me.

He thought or believed he would catch me and kill me sooner or later, so he didn't want to destroy the merchandise that they'd later use after all this was over.

It was a confident move...but it wasn't a smart one.

There were a total of twenty-seven men here in this place. I'd killed seventeen of them, leaving ten men, some of whom were injured.

Because of the EMP I activated before all this started, they wouldn't be able to call for backup, and with how isolated this warehouse was, the police wouldn't be coming here anytime soon, nor would any cameras record and alert them of what was going on.

So we were all alone. Ten men and myself. The odds were beautiful. They probably thought I was hiding because I was exhausted, which wasn't far from the truth.

The three days of training had increased my control and efficiency to devastating levels, but it had no effect on my energy reserves, which were now half of what they were.

I could only form at most three concentrated energy balls or two more energy beams before it all my energy disappeared.

But for ten of these people, I wouldn't need to use any more energy. My body alone was enough. Now then, it was time to show them that I wasn't trapped here with them.

...They were trapped here with me...
