Cobar System

Planet Viridian

Valant City

The sound of metal clanging filled the mechanic workshop. In the heart of the workshop a young man stood as he manually controlled a robot arm connected to the beams at the ceiling.

On the floor of the workshop multiple salvaged Mechs layed as the mechanical arm unfurled its centre revealing a common industrial laser. Thin beams cut apart the outer shell and prayed the metal shell apart to reach the inner parts.

Contemplating over his situation Solis could only try to move forward. Pressing a button on the console he stood at, the mechanical arm opened the chest cavity further.

Revealing a nuclear core with four energy cells inside. Manipulating the arm again Solis unscrewed the energy cell directly from the core. The white painted metal cylinder broke away from the core with a screech revealing nasty cracks and green bubbling liquid foaming from the cracks.

"Fuck! They are always ruined, it's probably on purpose"

Solis grew more annoyed as his time was literally ticking away. Pressing a button on the console again, a panel on the arm opened as a strange foam covered the energy cell and hardened.

Looking at the contained nuclear energy cell Solis continued to think of ways to obtain a operational one. Deciding on a new approach Solis decided to be thorough.

"Appraise"

[ item appraisal complete

Item: energy cell (used)(contained)(destroyed)

Materials: Nividiom, lead.. (9)

Note: used in military grade nuclear reactors for the process of fission, energy cells are the life blood of all technological civilisations. Highly illegal.

Price: 10000 (0) ]

The information Solis gained is all he could have hoped for. There were many Nividiom mines but there were only two military mines on Viridian, the danger in creating a energy cell was unreal. But with some effort Solis could track the supply lines.

Having made some plans Solis decided to put them into motion now. Moving away from the machine equipment, Solis opened a door inside the workshop that's led to a room with a bed, table, wardrobe. In one corner of the room a small kitchen waited.

Going to the wardrobe Solis took out some clothes and placed them on the bed as he also placed a small box on the bed. Solis smelt of oil and grease as he took the towel from a rack.

After showering and drying his body. Solis put on a shirt and a pair of jeans. Lastly he placed on a fur coat because of the Arctic climate Viridian was known for.

Looking in the mirror Solis was met with the same face he has known for two months. 'Everything seems so strange, This definitely wasn't my face from before, at least I think?'

Pale white skin lined his body as his silver pupils and silver hair matched. With patches of black streaking throughout his short shiny silver hair. 'Appraise', trying again to make sense of this world Solis tried to ask for answers.

Nothing came as the system went quiet but Solis could only give up. Grabbing the box from the bed Solis opened it revealing a laser gun specifically a machine pistol. Checking the magazine he noted two hundred shots. Along with the laser machine pistol a holster strap sat next to it.

Placing the gun and holster under his armpit. 'At least the system gave me something other than death as a penalty', Solis thought as he remembered his untimely appearance in this strange world.

'Nothing has changed, i have to forge my own path', throwing his thoughts to the back of his mind Solis strolled out of the building.

-

Walking out of the building Solis was reminded of earth and how different it was. With no cars and vehicles allowed on the roads the only transportation is public trains or private jet craft that can go from building to building or leave for space.

The reasons for the dramatic radical view on transportation is to create a divide and destroy the middle class on this lonely planet. Which it has done, their are the rich and the poor but some are poorer than others.

Walking to a train terminal Solis found the snow falling between the steel buildings beautiful as they created a contrast with the rusty and black painted buildings and the pure white snow. Standing at the terminal Solis noted some unsavoury characters around the terminal.

"Routine check, if we don't have problems you won't"

Coming from behind a armoured officer approached wearing their standard blue masks that covered the heads only leaving six sensors split between each eye. Holding a heavy carbine laser rifle all the officers were ready if anything went haywire.

"Solis Briel"

The officer noted the name as they pressed their wrist pad and extended it towards Solis. blue and green light scanned Solis's face before lighting the screen green.

"Checks out, you can go on with your day"

The officer turned away as they checked someone else. The officers that visit the poorer areas always wear heavy armour and carry powerful weapons because of the reaction caused by their mere presence. They carry a bad name but most are actually good people who want no trouble but they sit in the shadow of corruption.

The screech of metal against metal hailed the arrival of the train. Stopping in-front of the terminal the train doors opened as people left and entered.

-

Getting off the train after reaching the destination Solis made his way to a nightclub. The sign above the door "Elliot's Playhouse", had a notorious reputation for shady business within the underworld. Standing at the door taking the place of a bouncer stood a person wearing power armour.

They had a dangerous aura about most likely from the military grade weaponry the person was wearing. Standing in line no one talked with Solis but noticing his appearance which made him a pretty boy made them gossip. But they just talked amongst themselves to Solis's happiness the last thing he needs is a cog in the gears.

Eventually he reached the front of the line but his clothes didn't realy fall in with the party lifestyle. The bouncer looked at him for a second and asked.

"You here on business?"

The question hit the nail right on the head. The robotic voice changer also reminded him of the police masks and he thought it must just be military tech that is universally used. Pulling out a card from his pocket Solis handed it to the bouncer before speaking.

"Here to meet Rafiel, that fat bitch is always here so I didn't give notice"

Looking at Solis dead in the eyes the bouncer just shook his head as he let Solis in.
