Chapter 28: Answer-Question Time!!

It hadn't even been a week since our lives changed so drastically and I had already changed so much. I had fought a whole lot of battles in the last two days especially. It was one after another. I realized that no matter how strong I get, the situation will always remain troublesome. It's just that my battle had also been growing with me. I realized that I had to outpace everything to save myself and everyone. I had to even leave my home behind. I regretted now that I didn't say goodbye properly to dad and sister. Fortunately, I still had the chance. I decided to do so when I returned properly.

Recalling the battle in the mythic stage, I had many unanswered questions in my mind. I was looking at the dark and vast starry sky. My life was currently just like the vast sky with so many unanswered questions, so many things to unravel. But still,, there were many moments which made all the troubles worth it, like the beautiful twinkling stars which made the sky look dazzling. I took a deep breath and started to pour all the questions onto the system.

"Why was the mythic stage so harder? I think that would have been almost impossible to clear. Even just waiting for the DS force was unrealistic," I said. To the normal rankers, that stage was really an impossible situation. Fortunately, I had many fortunate encounters and secured many advantages or I wasn't sure if I could hold out.

"The Mythic stage itself isn't that difficult. I just adjusted it for you. It was at the highest difficulty level. I did it for your own good," it replied aloofly.

"What bullshit? Do you think I am a fool? At what point, that was beneficial for me, huh?" I fumed.

"Well…I believed that you could do this. Higher the danger, the greater would be the rewards, "It said.

"That you are right. I really got some unexpected results. Freelancer especially was worth it. I can be a gunner, an assassin, a ranger, etc. whatever I want, Ha-ha," I spoke happily. I forgot the hard and the long battle I faced instantly.

"But I felt that what happened before felt extremely real to me. I don't think that was just a dungeon mechanism," I enquired. I realized that we were in more trouble than I had thought.

"Yes, you hit the mark. That was real, alright," the system agreed but didn't elaborate on the matter.

I also didn't ask as I knew that I was too low levelled right now.

"Don't think too much for now. You being the guardian of the two worlds will be very beneficial to you in the future. It can be said to be the biggest reward of that stage, not the Freelancer class. That depends on how you will utilize it.", the system said.

"Really, maybe you are right. The title is only level 1 and already boosts my attributes by 50%. I only defended Z-99 once but I got such an OP title. But even though it's OP, I decided not to use it until the situation demands it. So, I won't use it. Is there any way to do that?" I said excitedly.

"Yes, you can just unselect the title. It will remain but be unactive," it replied.

"So, why don't I have ever heard of titles before?" I asked.

"That's of course because they are only gained after crossing level 20. Level 20 is just the starting point. From now on, everything will change. The monsters you face will be harder to deal with than the ones you have faced until now. You wouldn't be able to face such an army like before from now on easily," it said.

"Does that mean despite me having high attributes, speeds, high combat ability, I was able to survive the previous fight because of some restrictions.", I asked unhappily. I had thought that I had grown a lot stronger after the previous fight. But this really frustrated me.

"Of course! It would be a lot harder to dodge the all-out attacks of hundreds of enemies. You were able to survive because of many factors. If they had many long-ranged skills, how long do you think you would have been able to survive?" it said meekly. It knew that I wasn't satisfied with it yet.

When the system asked like that, I felt that it was speaking the truth. I pondered over the matter and realized that it was true. I shouldn't be overconfident after just a lucky survival I thought.

The system was glad that I realized what it was implying instantly. But it was speaking only half-truth. It hadn't foreseen that the situation would turn out so grimly when it had said the highest difficulty. And it hadn't imagined that I would unlock the special class, Freelancer. This class was so rare that only 0.1% of the system wielders were able to only unlock it, not the rankers but system wielders.

And even from that only a fraction of them was able to fully utilize the class to its fullest potential. It was one of those classes which had limitless potential. It wasn't that other classes lagged behind. The saying that "Classes aren't powerful, the users made them powerful" was absolutely correct. There were many freelancers who failed to realize its potential. And there were many swordsmen or assassins or other classes who were able to go beyond their limits and reach the peak.

After realizing my mistake, I corrected my mentality and asked the system again. I still had many queries to be answered.

"Is every Mythic stage like that? Or only am I unlucky?"

"There are two types of Mythic Stage: Normal ones or Invasion types. Normal ones mean normal dungeons while invasion type means defending a certain world. Invasion types are a lot harder. Yours was especially. But invasion-type dungeons depend on luck. You sure are unlucky to encounter a world with no guardians. That boosted its difficulty to the highest level. But I believe that it was your luck and fate that there was an invasion going there right when you were about to enter the mythic stage. I just connected that coincidence. And look how it turned out," It said.

"So, you mean you knew that I would encounter such a large force? And do other rankers face such an invasion alone or what?" I asked.

"Of course not! I only knew that there was such an invasion force. This was already the hardest difficulty. But encountering 3,000 armies led by 6 commanders was more than the hardest one. I also didn't know that their force would be so big. But still, seeing the reward I feel that it was worth it. As for the 2nd question, Z-99 is the only one without any guardian. If there were such invasion forces, there would be defending force too to help you. You will understand in the future" It spoke.

"Yes, that's true. And I still have another question left. The name of that planet Z-99 sounds weird to me. Is there anything behind it?" I asked.

"Yes, you really have keen insight. Just as you have guessed, there are 2,600 planets in our galaxy, and Z-99 ranks at the last. That is the US way of naming planets. It means Universal System. They all have their own names of course. It's only for convenience. But now that they have got a guardian, I believe that they can collect merits and rise through the ranks. For your information, Earth is very high up compared to Z-99. Its US name is E-17." It spoke.

The world is really vast I thought. Only now I felt that how small I was compared to them. They probably didn't even care about us I thought.

"So, what's this merit? Do they determine something or what?" I asked.

"That I can't say. You don't have enough authority to learn about this. Just grow stronger and you will know about this naturally," it said.

I didn't say anything and gazed at the sky. Looking at the sky calmed my agitated mind. I knew that the peak I had to climb was almost endless just like the Martial Dao, I had been reading about before. I needed to reach its peak and couldn't afford to stop or fall down mid-way.

After calming down, I was about to ask about the CS and DS when the system changed my focus.

"You have already reached level 20 now. I think that you can upgrade <The Stake> now. Check it quickly." It said and successfully changed my focus.

I equipped <The Stake> and observed its current stats. Like the system had said, it had also reached level 20 and was even upgradable this time.

I glanced at the materials required to upgrade the Stake to epic rank and realize that I hadn't even heard about a single of them. I was about to ask the system about the materials when I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I didn't even realize the moment when I fell asleep.
