Epilogue

The right side of the bed felt cold, completely untouched. Selena laid her arm over, attempting to hold someone who was no longer there. Her ring remained glued to her finger, as it had been for months. She grabbed the picture frame from Julia's bedside table and just stared, with glazed eyes.

"I miss you Jules" she whispered.

There was an engraving on the bottom of the frame. Selena knew exactly what it said, after all, she was the one who gifted this to Julia.

"Before you go to college, remember to kiss this picture for good luck. Only if I'm not available though, which let's be honest, won't ever be the case. I love you birdie."
