Chapter 2: Moving to Elburgh 1

"Long ago, in the northernmost part of the continent of Sakari, there lies the once called the 'land of the damned'. Jarsen was ruled by the most tyrant king in history.

"Like other kings, king Felipé possesses an incomparable amount of power. According to the legends, there's no such thing that king Felipé isn't able to do. He can control the weather, the seasons, the agriculture of his kingdom and many other abilities. His people dearly loved him and would even die for him to prove their own loyalty as he is the greatest king of all kings in the history of Jarsen.

"Or so, that's what his people thought.

"King Felipé's men decided to end his decades of tyranny. The spells of lies that he casted to his people lifted upon his death. That was how they found out the horrifying truth that ruined the whole kingdom for a lifetime.

"That is how the tragic rule of the infamous king Felipé ended.

"It was a story that's passed down from generation to generation. Several centuries had passed and the story becomes more than fiction. Different kingdoms has its own version of the story. Many claimed that their land was once belonged to Jarsen that attracted thousands of historians from time to time. But the most recent article about the said legend tells that that our kingdom—"

"Yeah yeah, but what about the 'treasure'?" Luka cut his brother off. His brother, on the other hand didn't show any response, but laughed awkwardly when Luka's eyes began to darken, "ehe." But then, he sighed and made a serious face and said with the words saying, "the palace you're about to live from now on contains a huge amount of treasure according to Jarsen's legend."

Luka rubbed his chin thinking of the possible things he could do with the treasures that his brother kept telling him about. In response, he looked at Damien. "So, what's the plan?" He asked.

"Let's talk about it after your arrival at the palace." With that, Damien vanished along with the cold winter's wind leaving Luka alone in his room again.

Yesterday was Jarsen's 13th prince's birthday, Prince Vaughn Luka Jarsen. On his 16th birthday, the current king of Gundelloire gifted him a castle like he always does to his other sons. Luka thought that Elburgh palace was a haunted one as far as he knows, but to think that such palace contains treasures puts him into elation.

"What kind of treasure is it, anyway?" He thought as he walked around the corner of his room. Luka started biting his thumb. "Golds? Jewelries? Something I can sell off?" A cunning smile sculpted on his face as he keeps thinking of it. He was much more than on cloud nine before his night ended.

He spent the rest of his days on the castle by gaining knowledge about Elburgh. From what the books had told him, the said palace is located as what its name depicts, Elburgh. Elburgh's territory sat between the borders of Kant empire, the city of Guadeloupe, and Jarsen kingdom itself.

He read several books about Elburgh as a kid, but not much about the palace itself. The palace is rarely mentioned in the books that makes quite uninteresting for him.

"If it's indeed a rumor, I must see it for myself." Luka had this kind of thought as he prepares himself the night before his arrival to Elburgh Palace, his new home.

Or so, that's what he thought.
