Chapter 20: Long Story Short

The United Council of Magic launched their investigation on the coven’s rituals and they were all required to give their statements to the authorities about the research they had done and what had occurred during the rituals. The first ritual was over three years ago so they were required to surrender any documents they had and all the objects they had used for the rituals.

Kate was the last to have to come in to give her statement as her doctors had to sign off on releasing her from the hospital. Due to the magical exhaustion from the second ritual, they were trying to be careful with her health. Jess had given her statement the week before and her cousin hadn't enjoyed the process. The other girl described the experience as being interrogated like a criminal.
