Chapter 15: Sweet Nothing

*Three Years Earlier*

January bled into February which was plagued by Valentine's Day declarations and public displays of affection. Kate had never cared for all the fanfare. She tolerated and ignored what other people were doing. She just wished they'd be quieter about it.

Kate was in the middle of tuning her viola when Theo asked, "Do you want to do anything to celebrate Valentine's Day?"

She scrunched up her nose and shook her head. "I would hate that kind of attention."

"No public displays?"

She shuddered at the thought.

He smiled and kissed her on the shoulder.

"Still, I could've gotten you something," he said. "What would you like?"

"Oral sex," she answered, easily. "That will be my answer to that question for the next decade. Please take note."

He laughed. "I will."
