"Good you know that Mona ,now carry on with your food ."Jakes said calmly ."I'm done ! I will just send this into the kitchen ."Suzzy got up and picked up her plate . "Is that your job? If it was so ,I wouldn't be paying to maidservants to serve you from dawn to dusk ."Jakes complained of Suzzy picking up the plate herself to the kitchen ."I just want to help and nothing else ."Suzzy also explained her point ."Ohh ,so is this how you help ,huh ? If you want to be a servant then tell me and let me stop paying the servants ."Jakes pressed Suzzy harder ."There's no need .."Suzzy said ."You don't cut me across when I'm speaking ,alright ? In case you don't know ,I'm the authority in this house .I'm the law !"Jakes emphasized ."Sor..sorry " Suzzy said apologetically ."What ! Is she the same Suzzy I know or she's something different ?

Why is she so calm ? There's something certainly wrong "Jakes thought with furrowed brows ."Sorry daddy.."Suzzy once again said and this time ,she didn't just shock Jakes with her actions but Dora as well .

Even though it didn't seem pleasing for Suzzy to call Jakes daddy ,Jakes enjoyed been called daddy ."Daddy ! "He muttered to himself with a smile ."Alright ,I will leave now since I don't want to bother you ."Suzzy decided to leave for her room ."Wait Monalisa ,why are you in this dress ? Can't you see how simple and outmoded it is ? I thought you'd change from the rags you were wearing earlier but it does appear to me that you enjoy wearing rags ,huh ? "Jakes rose to his feet and faced Suzzy ."Son ! .."Dora gave him an eye to stop what he was doing and that he shouldn't be too hard on Suzzy's sense of fashion but he ignored it and moved closer towards Suzzy who stood there with clenched fists .

Jakes looked at Suzzy eye to eye and stayed judgmental about her sense of fashion ."You know ? It'd be better if you take off the rags you are wearing and change into the new sets of expensive clothes I bought for you .You are a Riddles so behave as such and make sure that after you change from these rags you are wearing ,you wear the expensive perfumes I bought for you too okay ?

Why are you looking at me ? And why are you crying ?

Did I say something wrong ? "Jakes asked Suzzy but she ignored his questions and run upstairs into her room . "Jakes, what was the meaning of that ?

Do you know how hard it was for me to convince her ,huh ? Of course you wouldn't because you were not the one who put in all the efforts to convince her !" Dora broke down with sadness and took a seat ."Mum ,I did that to know why she had suddenly changed .

Mum ,her attitude has changed and so I tried provoking her so that she'd unleash all her anger on me .

I feel her calm attitude is heading nowhere good for us .

I fear that that she's harbouring hatred for me .

Try to understand .."Jakes tried explaining his actions earlier to his mother ."Yeah ,she has changed because the truth about her identity changed her !"Dora shouted the truth to her son's face ."What ? Mum , what did you just say ? Don't tell me you told her the truth , don't tell me that mum !"Jakes wanted answers from his mother but he cooled down his temper and asked her calmly ."Yes Jakes ,yes I told her the truth ! "Dora spilled the beans to Jakes ."I could no longer hold on to the truth that you were hiding about her true identity from her anymore !

I could not stand her tears and her hopes of looking for a father who was right in front of her !

It's not fair that even after all her struggles ,she struggles in her own father's home , it's not fair Jakes .

I know you fear that your daughter will hate you but I know that deep down ,she loves you Jakes !

She really does love you !

You needn't do anything ,I will take care of your mess like I've always done ."Dora headed upstairs .

Suzzy for a while sobbed before her thoughts began to fill with anger ."Argh!! Mother ,I can't do this anymore !

He's just at my neck all the time ,what should I do mother ? What should I do ? You know I can't trouble your soul and that's why when you asked me to look for my father at your last breath ,I did so .I've found him in the most unpredictable way but we both seem to not to get on the same page .

How did you bear with him ? "Suzzy talked out of the blare to her mother since she had lost her pendant .Just then , Dora enters the room ."Grany ,why are you here ? "She quickly wiped off her tears so that her grany wouldn't see ."It's okay to cry my dear .Once , your grandfather told me that tears contain one percent of water and ninety - nine percent of emotions and so he never stopped me whenever I was crying especially for your aunty Monalisa and your dad too during those times when they were both so sickly and your grandfather and I were so devastated because he knew after the tears I'd feel better .

Tell me my dear ,am I a bad mother ? Did I fail in bringing up my children in any way ?

Tell me ,did I fail bringing your father up as a good person ? "Dora sobbed and Suzzy embraced her in a tight hug ."Whenever ,I asked about my father , she'd first hug me tightly like I'm doing now and tell me that a mother doesn't make any mistakes in her upbringing . She'd also tell me that a mother would do anything to protect her child and her dignity ."
