Chapter Seventy..master of jokes

Suzzy closed the menu book after seeing the cost of her favourite pawpaw sauce which cost $65 per spoon .

"Umm! it's okay buddy ,I've lost my appetite and I want to go home now ."Suzzy lied , after seeing the prices of the meals ,she decided not to waste Jakes' money buying such expensive meals .

Already , Jakes had spent alot on her .

"Does he waste so much money on food ?

Oh goodness ! I guess it's because he doesn't have a good woman like my mother beside him .

Grany Dora just returned from Russia too so I guess this is how he wastes his money on food too .

Anyways ,I won't be the reason for his financial loss .I'd be more than fine after I eat Ida's delightful meals ."Suzzy thought biting the corner of her pink lips .

"Why ? is it because you are really not having an appetite for the good meals they prepare here or is it because of the prices ?

Did the prices scare you off my princess ? Hmm! what can I tell you sweetheart , that meals here are for those you can afford . Don't be surprised at the prices , in fact you should get used to them ,you should learn how to spend because life is too short for you to waste on being chiseled with what you have.

And also ,you are a Riddles and people can't see you at a lower price restaurant eating , that's not your status my dear ,you deserve something better .

Now tell me what you like and I will order it for you . "Jakes said and grabbed a menu book for himself too .

"If you say so ,Mr.Riddles ."Suzzy addressed Jakes and he looked at her with raised brows and a frown .

"Well ,sorry .I didn't know you don't like jokes ."Suzzy added later and averted her gaze elsewhere .

"Haha.! hahaha !! hahahahaha!!! "Jakes burst into laughter after Suzzy averted her gaze .

The waiters and waitresses were all surprised .After eighteen long years that they had known him ,he was laughing like he used to when both he and Eloise used to visit Craft Los Angeles .

"Hey look ,the chairman is laughing like he used to eighteen years ago ."One of the waitresses whispered to her friend .

"Eighteen years ago ,he was with ma'am Eloise and those were his happiest moments .

I think that now ,his daughter and his wife have rekindled his happiest moments Daniela ."The other one also said .

"You know ,if it's true that the chairman and his wife are together then why isn't she here with her family ?

I mean ,think about this Elma , it's all over the news that Eloise Jenkins Riddles is now the president of the Jenkins Jewelry Designs and so at least there should be a celebration like the rich people do ,you know ? "Daniela told Elma .

"Well ,if you'd ask me Dani girl ,I think that the chairman wants to spend some time with his daughter alone .

It seems he just picked her up from college and so he's using that opportunity to spend some quality time with her .

You should be happy because at least ,his happy mood has reduced the aura his presence posed ."Elma said .

"Who knows ,his happy mood might make him like me ,you know ? "Daniela said with her flirtatious voice .

"Hey ,stop flirting with the chairman in your mind okay ?

He will never be yours because he's married with a kid and they live a happy life together .

Clear your flirtatious conscience Dani girl or else your heart will end up breaking apart into a million pieces ."Elma told Daniela who leaned against the wall with folded arms .

"Oh stop it ! the chairman might hear our conversation and get us punished for sure .

What's my fault here if I like the chairman ?

He's so handsome and I can even get pregnant with his words .Aww! I wished he could just hold me in his arms now ."Daniela shut her eyes tightly and folded her arms in a crosswise manner on her chest .

"Stop day dreaming and come back to reality ."Elma hit her slightly on her cheeks .

"Oh Elma ,you can really discourage me at times .At least support me for a while ,if the chairman becomes my fiance ,you will enjoy too because we will be swimming in money ."Daniela continued to dream wild .

"Dani girl ,I don't want you to build castles in the air .."Elma advised Daniela .

"Alright ,miss lectures .."Daniela patted Elma's shoulders and moved back to doing her work .

"Haha! hahaha!! hahahaha!!! do you think you are the only one who can crack jokes sweetheart?

Well ,your daddy is the master of jokes , haha ! hahaha!! hahahaha!!!"Jakes flattered himself and laughed out loud .

"Come on , don't be bored sweetheart . Let's order something and eat ,hunger will definitely kill me now if I don't eat ."Jakes said and at that moment ,the waitresses brought in different and tantalizing delicacies all of Suzzy's choice .

"Why did you order this much ? It's not as if I can eat everything .I'm really not an eater ."Suzzy bit her lips and laughed a little not wanting Jakes to notice her but Jakes noticed her anyways .

Eloise's dimples were exposed each time she laughed and Suzzy took after her and so her dimples exposed her to Jakes.

"Well ,I'm an eater sweetheart ,so check this out .."Jakes stuffed three different steaks from three different plates in his mouth .

He didn't even have time to cut them into pieces before eating them .

"You see ? I'm really an eater for real my princess .."Jakes smiled broadly .

"Well my dear buddy ,I will show you that a bird doesn't give birth to a crab in the first place ."Suzzy also stuffed three steaks from three different plates into her mouth .

Jakes was shocked at first but he smiled to himself and began eating the potato chips with the ketchup and the crunchy bread coated chickens and Suzzy followed up .

They both didn't want to lose to each other so easily .
