Chapter Seventeen ..spilled coffee

"For heaven's sake mum ,please be firm on your stand .Do you want me home or you want me to leave ?

Tell me and I will do so immediately mum ..! "Jakes landed the bottle water hard on the cabinet .

"I was right all along ,my son has a problem .Now tell me son ,what is it ? What for God's sake is bothering you that has gotten you so annoyed at this dawn ? " Dora inquired for answers from Jakes who had leaned against the kitchen cabinet disturbed .

"Son , don't be disturbed at all because Meredith is coming home tomorrow .Once she arrives ,we shall talk about your engagement with her so whatever being the case ,I'm sure you can solve it .My dear ,grab some rest so that you don't get yourself all worked out ."Dora planted a kiss on Jakes' forehead and left the kitchen .Once Dora left , Jakes' frustration knew no bounds as he squeezed the bottle of mineral water so hardly ."Meredith is coming tomorrow ?

Oh my goodness !

And about the engagement mum is planning ,I guess it's a joke !

I cannot allow the mistake that happened between Meredith and I three years ago to destroy all my efforts towards Eloise .

Before Meredith opens her mouth and spils the beans to Eloise ,I will have to tell her myself .

I will have to tell her the real reason we both lost contact to each other .Yes! , that's exactly what I will do once I get to the office in the morning ."

"Good morning sir !" Renata greeted Jakes who arrived earlier than his normal time of coming to the office ."It seems you have arrived earlier today ,any extra schedules you want me to add to your daily schedules ? Tell me and I will do that .

Also ,your coffee is on the table ; black with no sugar like you like it ."

"Renata ,is Miss Jenkins in already ? "Jakes asked sipping his cup of coffee ."Yes sir ,she arrived quite earlier today , probably because she has some unfinished work to complete ." Renata said politely .

"Tell her to come to my office now " .Jakes took his seat with a worried face .

"Alright sir ,I will do that immediately " . Renata left to carry out the task assigned to her . "How will she take it when I finally tell her ?

Oh God ,I know I don't usually pray or even ask for miracles to occur but today ,please cause a miracle to occur so that I can finally get Eloise's understanding and forgiveness ...!" Jakes hoped high .

"You called for me boss!"Eloise said in her bubbly voice .

She was dressed in a sea blue shirt and a black fitting office skirt and her long straight hair and naturally pink lips were spiced a bit with a cheery lip gloss . Standing upright in front of Jakes in her down black shoes ,she held a pack of files in her hand and though she kept a straight face ,her face was still miraculously beautiful as her long lashes blinked each time she bent her head down subconsciously .

Jakes starred at her like he had seen a goddess from the moon ."Sir ,you called for me and I'm here !"Eloise repeated once more to Jakes' hearing .Jakes picked up his cup of coffee to drink so that he can at least stop starring at Eloise's beauty for a while .

"Yes ,Miss Jenkins ,I called for you .I just wanted to know if you could finish the task I assigned to you yesterday . A board meeting will be held in no time so that you will show us what you've got but before ,let me have a look at your designs !"

"Okay boss ,here you go !

These are the designs I could make out of the ones you gave me yesterday .

I will take my leave boss ,you can call me once you are done !"Eloise walked towards the door . "Stop Miss Jenkins , don't leave yet because we aren't done talking and you also need a swipe card to get out of the office !

If you really want to leave then you need me to open up the door ."Jakes told Eloise who still stood at the door .Jakes took his cup of black coffee instead of the swipe card and walked towards the door .He had an evil smile on his face as he walked closer to Eloise ."Miss Jenkins ,please shift a little away from the door so that I can open it ."As soon as Eloise moved away from the door ,she slipped backwards .Jakes held her waist tightly so that she couldn't fall however ,his cup of coffee spilled on Eloise's sea blue shirt and soiled it .Both looked into each other's eyes and drowned themselves in their memories . They blinked their eye lashes to each other and they both felt their heart beating faster against each other's."So sorry Eloise but I had to do this .I had to spread the adhesive on the floor so that my plan wouldn't fail ." Jakes thought while looking straight into Eloise's gaze .

"I love this ,I love the way you are holding me now however ,I also haven't forgotten the liar that you are Jakes Riddles .

I loved you for twelve years but in return ,I ended up hurt .I won't let your charming face and your conniving voice eat into my head again Jakes ,not again !"Eloise also thought and tried pushing Jakes away ."Sir ,please let go of me ..!"Eloise told Jakes and he let go of her even though he didn't want to ."My shirt ,Oh my God ! How will I get a new one now that it's soiled with coffee ? I didn't bring any extra shirt as well ."Eloise thought looking at her soiled dress .

"Miss Jenkins ,I will have Renata get you an extra shirt if you want but you can't go out with a soiled dress especially to the board meeting .This is nothing personal , everything is on professional bases Miss Jenkins and so it's up to you to make your decision " Jakes proposed his suggestion to Eloise .
