Chapter Forty five ..Eloise is still alive !

"I know that nothing can make what we did to you right Eloise .

During that time your sister Eloise was suffering from lupus - related kidney disease called lupus nephritis .

Your dad and I wondered about how a new born baby like her would have such a disease .

Aside her lupus nephritis ,she was also born with a G6PD [glucose - 6 - phosphate -dehydrogenase ] deficiency and we had no money at that time to cater for her treatment and look after you as well .

Your dad who was a televangelist at that time wasn't earning much for her treatment .

Even I , who worked hard day and night as an accountant wasn't earning enough to treat her illness .

At the other end was you ,you were healthy but since all the money your dad and I earned were draining into your sister's treatment , we thought of giving you up for adoption so that you could get a good life .

However ,when we thought of going to Belton Lake Beach for some vacation ,we saw that there were wealthy people around and so we wrapped you in a blanket and placed you in a box and dropped you there while you wore your pendant with the inscription 'EJ 'on it .

Elena Jenkins was your name and your dad and I thought that one day we would find you again !

My dear ,your dad and I didn't want to give you up but we thought it was for the best if you gained a better life .

In tears ,we stood at one side of the beach and saw the man pick you up .We actually followed him to where he sent you .

He sent you home and named you Eloise Jenkins .

He was also called Jenkins and the funny thing is ,he named you Eloise which was your sister's name .

Fate gave us a different direction ,your sister's health improved yearly .

We thought of coming back for you but giving it a second thought ,we thought that you enjoyed the life you had .

You were so filled with happiness then .

The biggest mistake your dad and I made was to give you up but it was also the hardest decision of our lives .

Your dad got a job offer in China and so we left for China .

Your sister went through several machines and acupunctures to get a healthy body .

When we returned from China ,we came back to Belton .

The first thing your dad and I did was to come to where your foster parent lived but you were not there .

At that moment ,your sister's nanny called us up and informed us that your sister has been rushed to Baylor Scott and White Medical Centre because her G6PD deficiency had risen up again.

Rushing to her aid at the hospital ,the doctors told us that there was no way she was going to make it considering the state of medical crisis she was in .

At that same time ,your dad I noticed how the nurses rushed into room 303 .

But we had absolutely no idea that you were the one in room 303 .

The doctors tried everything they could but your sister passed away .

While waiting in the waiting room for her body ,the nurses told us to come and check on your sister .

We were surprised at this but when we went back to room 302 ,your sister wasn't there .

We further moved to room 303 as directed by the nurse and she was breathing but she was in coma .

We didn't know that the patient who was in room 303 was you !

The funny thing was you were also Eloise Jenkins and your sister was Eloise Jenkins as well !

You had an identical face so the nurses couldn't distinguish between you girls .

Your dad checked your records and got to know that you were her twin because you had no health records of G6PD deficiency like your sister 's .We even run a blood test on you to prove that you are our daughter and the test turned out to be positive .

Your daughter had already taken your sister's body away to bury assuming her to be you .

We attended the funeral but your daughter was nowhere to be found after the funeral .

We thought of taking her along with us but she misplaced us .

We wanted you to have a better treatment and so your dad and I sent you to Germany for your treatment .My dear ,I know we made a mistake but please forgive us ."Stephanie ; Eloise's biological mother apologized to her ."Steph please , that's in the past .After all ,I did well without you and your husband anyways so please Mama , don't lecture me !

I'm going back for my daughter and no one will stop me .

She needs to know that I'm still alive !

Her mother ; Eloise Jenkins is still alive so please just let me do this my way .If you know you won't help me out ,then go and join your husband on his business trip in Singapore and just let me be ."Eloise said."I will always be with you and support your decisions my dear ."Stephanie patted Eloise's shoulders .

So soon in thirty nine minutes ,Eloise and her mum arrived in Los Angeles .They checked into The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles .

"We are here already Mama and there's no turning back .I have made my plans and if you know you won't support me then ,you are free to step out .So tell me ,are you in or not ? "Eloise asked her mother one more time .

"If I have to eat fire to prove my support to you then I will eat it Eloise .It doesn't matter what you will do ,I will support you because I'm your mother ."Stephanie affirmed on her stand one more time ."Ha! Just say that you want to prove yourself as a good mother to me .

I've told you not to prove yourself to me because nothing can change my perception about the past ."Eloise moved to the bathroom to shower up .
