"Joan ,why aren't you asleep yet ? It's almost twelve midnight ."Eloise moved into the gardens and sat by Joan .

"You aren't asleep either and this means that you are disturbed ,right ? "Joan asked Eloise who was busy throwing grapes into her mouth .

"Yeah ,I can't sleep ."Eloise answered simply .

"Is it because you intentionally drowned Suzzy's phone in the bathtub so that she couldn't reach out to Jakes in Korea ?

Don't try denying it ,I saw you do it Eloise ."Joan was firm .

"I'm desperate Joan , I'm so desperate because I want my daughter by my side .

I don't want Jakes to take her away from me and looking at how they've grown so close to each other , there's no doubt that my daughter is now Jakes' .

'Sniffs....'

The only reason why Suzzy spent some days with me is because Dora has travelled to the Netherlands and she will be returning tomorrow .

Joan ,i'm losing my daughter and by drowning her phone in the bathtub ,I thought that it would at least give me sometime to spend with my daughter .I won't do anything to hurt my daughter intentionally Joan ,I will never do that .I love her alot even more than my own life ."Eloise broke down into tears .

"Come here .."Joan pulled Eloise into her embrace and cooled her down till she was finally relaxed .

The cool weather got Eloise to sleep peacefully on Joan's laps .

"Ding ding ..."The door bell rang .

"Who could be at the door at this time ? I will go and check .."Joan laid Eloise peacefully on the chair and walked towards the door .

She was shocked as to who was standing at the door .

"Jakes ? Am I dreaming or what ? Isn't he supposed to be in Korea ? "Joan wiped her hands on her face to check whether it was really Jakes or her imagination .

'Ding Ding ! 'Jakes rang the door again .He was already getting frustrated waiting at the door that he almost felt like breaking the door apart .

"Jakes ! I mean boss .."Joan walked up to him .

"Joan , where's my daughter ? I want to see her ,before you think of telling any lie about her whereabouts , remember that I won't spare you for that later on ."Jakes said desperately .The thought of not hearing anything from his daughter was almost killing him .

"Just calm down boss ,your daughter is sleeping quietly ."Joan said calmly .

"Then why wasn't she answering any of my calls or messages or even voicemails ,huh ?

I want to see her right now ! "Jakes demanded .

"I already said she's fine and she's sleeping .

I'm Joan ,your employee and you are my boss and I know that I don't have the right to talk to you about your personal life but today ,forgive me for crossing all my barriers of professionalism .

However ,I want to ask if it's only your daughter that you are thinking about Jakes ,is it only she ?

Look ,in eighteen years I didn't get in touch with Eloise however I saw the way you lived your life ,you were just breathing but not living .

There was no day I saw a pinch of happiness on your face ,no day .

Bearing witness to your condition ,I can tell that that was what Eloise went through too .

Your daughter is fine but what about Eloise ? Is she fine ?

Your daughter is fine but what about you ? Are you fine ?

Do you enjoy living this life ? Do you think your daughter is liking this lifestyle that both her parents are giving her ?

Jakes ,in as much as I love Eloise as my friend ,I love you too dearly as my friend and if you'd ask me ,I think you and Eloise need to get back together like before because whether you like it or not ,your destinies are tied together ."Joan's words caught Jakes' attention that his own conscience began eating him up about the pain that indirectly he's causing his daughter , himself and Eloise .

"You have money and she has money too but none of that is making your daughter happy .

I know Eloise hasn't been cool with you at all for sometime now but can you blame her ?

Jakes you hurt so much that now she fears that if she doesn't do anything to get her daughter on her side then you'd take her away from her .

She isn't asking for much ,she only wants to be close to her daughter and that's all a mother needs .

If you take her daughter away from her then she'd be all broken down and hurt like she is now ."

"Where's Eloise now ? "Jakes asked with a worried face .

"She's sleeping in the garden ,I tried very hard to calm her down and out her to sleep.

Anyways ,thank God you came because at least you can help me carry her to her room without waking her up .

Since you are here ,I'd go make some milkshake for myself ,that was alot to say after all boss ."Joan left for the kitchen to prepare her milkshake .Jakes walked into the garden and saw Eloise peacefully sleeping on the wooden crafted chair like a baby .

He removed his jacket and covered her with it before carrying her in his arms into her room .

He covered her with a blanket and sat by her side for a while starring at her gorgeous face.

"Sorry love ,so sorry for hurting you each time .I could never keep any of my promises to you and you were always right ,I'm such a jerk !

So sorry for all the pain I've caused you , I don't deserve a woman like you and you don't deserve to be with a jerk like me .

You deserve someone better that can make you feel happy ,someone who wouldn't hurt you ever .

Forgive me Eloise ,forgive me ! "Jakes said to Eloise who was fast asleep .He was down seeing her down even in her sleep that he had developed teary eyes .
