Becoming His Wrong Bride

James does it all. He watches his bride walk down the aisle to him, he lifts her veil, smiles and kisses her when the priest asks him to. All was right. He could practically hear the cha-ching of money as his company was now officially merged with her father's. Maybe he also liked her smile and the sound of her voice. But disaster strikes. Who had he married? When he learns that his good for nothing brother had knocked up the girl he was engaged to, he feels the first stab of betrayal. The sweet, innocent girl he had married instead didn't seem so sweet to him anymore. No amount of money made James swallow this utter humiliation. He seeks revenge. From who else but his wrong bride?

10 - Between You & Me

James was sitting on the couch next to my legs, his hands inches away from my face. He pulled his hand away and sighed looking away.

I got up and sat down pulling my legs up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them. I didn't say anything, and waited for him to say whatever he wanted to say.

He looked at me when I didn't say anything, and sighed loudly before saying.

"Do you want me to apologize?"

I didn't reply and just stretched my legs. I take a look at my phone to see the time. It was 5 am, wow he came back home right now? To be honest, after yesterday, thinking about it, I actually did not care about all of this. He can do whatever he wants.

"I have no explanation to give you, I was busy with meetings today." He says and lays back on the couch.

"Then why are you sitting here?" I ask him.

"What?" He asks, looking at me.

"You could have just gone to your room and slept, why are you here then?" I ask, getting up and stretching my arms. Damn they hurt so bad.
