Becoming a Dungeon Core

There will be mistakes as this is my first time writing. Talk - " " Think - [ ] System - ( ) Author thought - [[ ]] Action - * * In a massive world, many times larger than Earth. Is filled with gods, magic, hundreds of intelligent species, dragons, orcs, goblins, and more monsters and beasts. Yet, they all point swords at each other. This world is made up of several massive continents. Most of these continents are on the brink of war or already in war. Yet some continents somehow find peace with each other. But other than that, this world is mostly stable. But that all changes when souls from different times, dimensions, galaxies, and universes, somehow end up in their world, either being summoned to stop some kind of demon king, reincarnated, or transmigrated. These souls change the balance of the world, either for the good or bad, always leaving a mark on history. Though these foreign souls that are not summoned are really rare, maybe 2 come every thousand years, as summoned ones are called by the gods and people during a time of need. But what would happen when a soul comes to this world, with a powerful ability, one that can change the entire balance of the world? Most would expect this type of soul to be a powerful dragon or a newly born god, yet most wouldn't expect the soul to be a small crystal rock the size of a blueberry. This soul will have a tough time growing strong, especially since many more reincarnated, transmigrated, or summoned souls are popping out everywhere. With numerous foreign souls unintentionally traversing through the fissures of space and time into this new world, what prevents foreign entities from following suit? What safeguards are in place to prevent their invasion of the new world?

"I'm SO bored and tired." Artin was complaining while riding on Anky, who just huffed as he was already tired of her.

Anky didn't understand her words, but the tone was unmistakable. He'd had enough of it already and, in comparison to her, even the humans he had encountered before seemed far less annoying.

Meanwhile, Alex was in his crystal body and was examining his skills and the stuff he took from the guys who tried to capture him. He was also being held by Warren, who checked the surroundings and ensured nothing bad attacked them.

After the battle and checking the stuff he got from the dungeon, he realized he didn't use an item token, so he used it and prayed for something good.

(<DING >

Common Item Token Used - 3x Antiseptic stones (Monster Hunter)

)

[I have no idea what I'll use these for, but maybe they'll come in handy eventually] he mused, inspecting the smooth, glistening stones. Neither he nor the others in the group could immediately figure out their purpose, but that was a problem for another day.

Once again, we see something different through another pair of 'eyes', watching Alex's group from way above the trees.

It's the one and only MQ-27-DragonFire watching from above, carefully examining its surroundings and watching out for birds or anything in the trees.

After his master was finished exploring the 'cave' and destroying the inhabitants, the group stayed near the 'cave' and rested before setting off. It was ordered to fly high above the trees and try to find some sort of interest to travel to, mostly to find a settlement. But anything worked.

Luckily after flying around for 10 minutes and watching out for anything that could fly, it finally found a pretty big 'settlement'. It flew back and reported what it found. Though reporting was more like moving up and down to get Alex's attention

Alex checked the [Map] and saw the town his drone found. It was less than a 2-day trip to get there. So he made everyone rest until their cooldowns were done and Artin's mana was mostly refilled. But they all rested for an hour as Artin, Anky, and Warren were physically tired. Well, they tried to rest, as Gastly messed with them.

He would slowly sneak up on them to scare them, which was very successful, and ended up with Artin trying to destroy Gastly with her magic as physical attacks went through him.

Luckily for Gastly, everyone quickly stopped Artin and calmed her down. Although it took a lot of persuading and food to calm her down and leave Gastly alone.

Once that little event passed. They took off and headed east. The first day of traveling was mostly uneventful, nothing really happened to them. There were random flowers and fruits on the way so Alex stored them in his [Inventory]. There were also some new creatures Alex had never seen, like monkeys with bright green fur with some of the stronger-looking monkeys having horns and different colors in their fur.

Some other creatures he saw were tiny lizards that could quickly change their skin color and birds that spat an orange-sticky liquid substance. It didn't do anything else than being sticky and ruining Artin's hair, which made her scream in frustration.

Apparently, these small birds, which were the size of pigeons and were dark brown in color with dark orange spots, were called orange-spotted doves. They were very territorial birds and were highly aggressive. Although they pose no real threats to the average person, the sticky spit they attack with is very annoying to deal with. They were also loathed by women as it's a pain in the ass to remove if it gets in your hair.

Some other stuff he saw were spiders, insects, and the usual stuff you'll see in a forest. There were some other magical creatures such as slimes, and goblins which were killed on sight. Flying snakes? and any other creatures you expect to see in a fantasy world. Most of the creatures would be killed on sight as they've shown aggression and attacked them.

The slimes, however, were in fact not killed on sight. The slimes were pretty much harmless. They of course can be dangerous to normal people but to someone like Ethan, they acted as stress balls and were molded into many different shapes for fun, it even helped remove the dirt and blood that were deep in his crevices.

Of course, once Alex was done messing with the slimes, he grabbed the core inside the slimes which acted as their hearts, and pulled it out of their bodies which instantly killed them.

Other than that, the day ended and a blanket of darkness came over the forest. Alex made Anky smash some large branches that were on the forest floor to be used as fuel. While Anky was smashing wood, he made Ethan and Warren gather some rocks to surround the wood.

Once everyone was done with their jobs, he asked Artin to make a small flame. Soon there was a campfire and everyone was ready for bed. But before that, Alex took some food he stole and gave some to everyone, although the food was just fruits. He had some rabbit and wolf meat that could be used but he didn't know how to prepare it. No one in his group didn't know either. Once he can find some sort of cookbook or find someone who can cook, his meat won't be used.

As everyone was eating, there were several pairs of eyes watching them closely. Watching their every move and waiting for something. But something else was watching the eyes. It was Gastly, the MQ-27-DragonFire, Ethan, and Alex. Ethan and Alex have thermal vision while Gastly and the drone can see in the dark.

The eyes that were watching them didn't know they were spotted. Throughout the night, Alex had Ethan and the Drone, which was high in the sky, watch over them. He also had Gastly slowly sneak up on the creatures to try and scare them away. But it was not very effective as they came back each time.Though he couldn't sleep much, daylight came and nothing happened to them. He didn't know what was watching them as they looked like go

blins but their entire bodies were pale with no hair covering anywhere on their bodies. They also produce very little heat, but it was enough for Alex and Ethan to spot them.

Alex decided to not tell the group as he didn't want them to worry. So as if nothing happened, they used magic to pour water on the fire and made sure there was no ember or anything that could grow back into a flame. And continue walking through the forest.

As they were walking a notification came from the system.

(<DING >

E-Ranked Demonic Dungeon Core is now under Host control.)

As Alexa said that, another tab popped up in his system which said. [Servants]. He opened up this tab and saw the red dungeon core. So he brought out the red dungeon core and saw that it looked exactly like him, except it was red while he was blue.

As he enters Ethan's body to look closer at the core, he hears a little raspy child's voice in his head, which he knew was coming from the red dungeon core.

[Thank you master for saving me from corruption. I pledge my allegiance to you and promise to kill anyone that dared to block your path]
