The words hung in the air between us, tense and electrified. I blinked, trying to process what Eileen had just said, and a strange feeling of amusement mixed with intrigue settled in my chest.
She was already shifting uncomfortably, probably regretting it, but I couldn't help the slow smirk creeping up my face.
"How would it be if I bit you?" I echoed softly, leaning closer to her as I repeated her question. Her eyes darted to mine, wide and almost embarrassed, but she didn't pull away.
I could hear her heart racing, a rapid drumbeat that echoed in the quiet of the room. Her skin, slightly flushed, almost begged for a response.
A small chuckle slipped out of me, more out of surprise than anything else. I tilted my head, letting the question settle between us as I studied her. Eileen, with all her power and bravado, now looked more nervous than I had ever seen her. It was adorable.
