Far up ahead, there was a gaping pit on the surface of the water. Wide enough that any manner of boat would have no trouble falling right in and being swallowed up by the pit.
All around this gaping pit, the seas churned dangerously, troubled like nothing Chantria had ever witnessed before. The currents moved around in a rapid circular fashion and kicked up violent torrents, the pit being the very heart of the whirling currents.
It was like an abyss that would lead straight down to the depths of the Earth, just randomly sitting in the middle of the Sea like someone had left it there on purpose to prove a point.
Any boat that was pulled into those depths would have no hopes of making it out unscathed, the torrents would make certain that the boat was smashed to bits and all life within would meet unfortunate ends.
Chantria could understand why it had been warded off now, there was absolutely no way this part of the Sea could be safe to the common people.
