Chapter 6

This is probably one of the longest chapters

Breezie's POV.

I woke up first. I laid on the ground, staring at the ceiling for a few minutes. I sat up after I got bored and had a silent staring contest with Zalop. I got bored and destroyed Sirena's pillow fort by jumping on it and ended up landing on her. "Ow!" She exclaimed as Ezera woke with a hiss.

"Oops, sorry," I laughed.

"WILL YOU GIRLS BE QUIET! WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP!" Lionark shouted. As Coal flung a pillow at us. They both burrowed into their pillows and blankets and fell into deep sleep again.

Sirena and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. "Well, now that you're up, we can g to breakfast," I grinned.

"Fine, but the only reason I'm awake is that you woke me up," She sulked.

"Whatever," I said "I'm hungry! Lets gooooooooooo!!!!! Please!" I pleaded.

"Wait, what about them?" She asked, motioning to the sleeping boys.

"Let them sleep, we can write a note or something to tell them that we left early," I answered, shrugging my shoulders.

"Okay, let's get ready first. I'm going to use your bathroom! I don't want anyone walking in," she said over her shoulder as she rummaged in her closet.

"Okay!" I replied skipping into my room grabbing clothes and changing quickly before Sirena came in. (Their rooms are next to each other and are connected with a door in the wall. They have their own bathrooms though)

We called our animals, wrote a note, and then went to go to breakfast. After we got our food, we talked and ate while waiting for the boys.

"When are they coming?" I asked impatiently. Sirena just shrugged while serving Ezera a few strips of bacon. I patted Zalop's back as he munched on a few carrots. We waited a few more minutes.

"Ezera, do you mind? Go check on them, make sure they're awake. If they aren't awake, you have our permission to dump water on them," Sirena asked her cat while summoning 2 giant globs of water. Ezera happily agreed as the water floated above her head. She ran out of the busy room, racing back to our rooms with the floating blobs of water following her.

"I kinda hope that they're still asleep," I said as we laughed.

"Me too," Sirena responded giggling.

Coal and Lionark marched in angrily. Both soaking wet, with a proud looking Ezera following them, and a very amused looking Sactom and Minbor. Ezera pranced to our table happily.

"Did you have to send her to do that?" Coal asked angrily after they finished getting their food. They're still soaking wet.

"You can just heat yourself up so it evaporates," I suggested between chuckles.

"Oh! Right!" Coal exclaimed. Soon, steam started to come off of him. Within a few minutes, he's completely dry.

"What about me?" Lionark asked.

"Suffer!" Coal said with an evil laugh.

"I'll help you," Sirena said. She snapped her fingers and all the water disappeared.

"Thanks," Lionark said smiling at her. Sirena nodded in acknowledgment.

"Kids, once you're done, meet me in the arena," Selia said coming up to our table.

Still Breezie's POV.

"I'm sure that you all know about the talents you get when you summon a partner," Selia said. 'We are now going to try to figure out yours. Breezie, can you start?"

I froze, "Uh, sure?" My reply sounded more like a question. "Uh, how do I discover it?" I asked.

"Connect with your partner. Feel the bond you have with him. Close your eyes, it's easier to focus. Then do whatever comes naturally to you," Selia replied.

"Uh, okay," I responded.

"Sirena, Lionark, Coal! Sit down! And put your animals into passive state!" Selia called out to the 3 kids.

"Yes, Ma'am!!!!" Coal exclaimed as 3 different colored flashes of light lite up the darkroom for a moment.

"I swear you have a death wish," Selia muttered "Breezie, begin."

Zalop sat in front of me and folded his wings. I tried to ignore the eyes focused on me while I tried to connect with Zalop. I reached out to comb my hand through his mane. Our breathing became in sync as we stared into each other's eyes. In... out... Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale... perfectly in sync.

I gasped as images flooded my mind. Images... of memories. Different memories. The ceremony, arriving at Cloaked Haven, flying for the first time together, and so much more. More and more memories flooded my head, some of them were Zalop's memories. His mother... HIs herd... oh... there's so much to see!!! I was suddenly plunged into darkness. I opened my eyes, wondering what happened. I looked up to see the gentle eyes of Zalop.

We're inside some sort of forest. Zalop nickered happily and led me towards a moon lite field. "It's a herd of Pegasus," I said quietly. Zalop pushed me towards a black pegasus. "Is this the herd leader?" I asked.

Zalop nodded dipped his head respectfully. He then led me towards a smokey grey pegasus. Zalop stopped right in front of the sleeping pegasus, staring at her. She shifted into a more comfortable position. I had a glimpse of a pure white pegasus tucked under her left wing.

"That's you!" I gasped. Zalop nodded his large head and touched his nose to my hand. We have sped away from the gentle scene and appeared in a village in the clouds. "Hey look, Zalop! This is my home," I said, pointing to one of the homes.

We approached my house and looked through the window. "Aww, look, that's a 3-year-old me," I sighed pointing at the little kid playing with cloud blocks. "And look! There's my sisters, my mom and... dad" I sighed.

We were whisked away to another memory. "This is the Village Church!" I said to Zalop as I climbed the grand steps.

"When was this?" I wondered, Zalop flew up and waited for me at the top of the stairs. I entered the room and saw something that I wish I will never see again. "It's my father's funeral," I wailed to Zalop. He nudged me as I watched my past self and family cry in the front row.

"That is weird and sad" I quietly said.

We made our way up to the front. I heard my past self talking to myself. "I wish I can see you again, or make an illusion of you, father," I cried.

After that sentence, the room spun around like we're inside a twister and we're back in the arena.

"How do you feel?" Selia demanded.

"It-it feels like I have more power, I can't explain it, it's like... I really don't know, small tingles of electricity???"

Selia stepped back, "o what you must," she said calmly. I nodded and stared at my hands and looked back up at Zalop for comfort.

"Hey look! There's a purple mist around your hands!" Lionark exclaimed. I quickly looked down, and there indeed there is. I stared at my hands shocked, and without thinking, pointed at a wall. The mist quickly swirled towards the wall and created a jungle. I gasped and backed away from a tree that suddenly appeared in front of me.

"This is so cool!" Coal exclaimed, jumping up, trying to grab a vine.

"And weird, I can't sense any trees, but I see them," Lionark said reaching towards the nearest tree. He gasped as his hand went right through it.

"It's an illusion!" Sirena exclaimed as she ran through a bush and a tree.

I waved my hand and the jungle disappeared leaving us in the arena. I summoned the mist again, pointing at the direction of Coal and Lionark.

"Hey!" They both shouted as a bushy beard appeared on Lionark's face and a mustache on Coal.

"All right kids, settle down," Selia said sternly. "We don't have much time, Lionark goes next," She whispered nervously.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"You kids might be in danger. You have summoned the 4 beasts. The 4 elements of the century war will be after you," She said urgently. "That's why we need to help you discover your talent quickly, I fear that we don't have much time. Don't worry about the things in your room, each room in Cloaked Haven can move. In case of any danger or people are looking for you the rooms will move to different places in the castle, unused rooms will go to the basement and the door will be disguised as a wall. It will be replaced with a different room. Everything in the room will also move with it. It's a feature that the creators of Cloaked Haven designed. Lionark quickly!"

Lionark's POV.

We all fell into silence as the information Selia told us slowly sunk in.

"Oh, me?" I asked stupidly.

"No, she's talking about the other Lionark in this room!" Coal said sarcastically sitting down in front of me.

"Of course she's talking about you," Sirena remarked casually leaned against the wall, arms crossed while rolling her eyes.

"Oh right," I muttered and summoned Minbor as Breezie called Zalop into passive state. "Okay bud, it's our turn, sit down," I said to him.

He decided that he didn't want to listen to me and spread his wings. Leaping into the air, he flew a few times around the arena. "MINBOR!!!! YOU GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" I yelled at him, he pretended to not hear me and flew a few more laps. "Come!" I called.

Shrieking, he dove down. And landed gracefully after almost knocking Selia over. "Finally, you big stubborn beast," I said. Of course, he heard that. He lept onto me and sat down on my chest, almost crushing me. "Can't breathe!" I choked out. The others watched in amusement, no one moved to get this big beast off of me.

Minbor huffed and got off me. He sat down next to me. I sighed and stared into his green eyes. We just stared at each other. Suddenly the room disappeared, instead, I found myself in a bright room. A young boy ran through the room. "That's me!" I exclaimed, talking to mInbor, who's observing the scene with interest. We followed the boy as he made his way through the house.

"Mom! Mommy!" The younger version of me yelled as he leaped into my mother's open arms.

"Hey, Lionark!" She said hugging me "Happy 4th birthday!"

Suddenly the room swirled, and I was teleported somewhere else and some other time. It's the ceremony. I stood in the crowd while I watched myself stop in front of the wise-one. I got a feeling of Deja-Voo and of course, I can understand why. I watched the whole ceremony, all the way up the part where Selia whisked me and Minbor away.

Then we suddenly appeared on a tall mountain. I looked up at Minbor. "Is this your home?" I asked. He looked back at me and cooed. He motioned me onto his back and took flight. We circled mountain, climbing higher and higher into the air. Every so often, another griffin would fly by. We landed on the top of one of the mountain peaks. Minor led me into a cave. Inside is a nest with 3 baby Griffins. 1 is purely white, the other is a dark chocolate brown with hints of grey and the last one is a light brown.

Minbor pointed at the light brown griffin, then pointed at himself. "That's you," I said and he nodded. A shadow appeared in the entrance of the cave, and a golden griffin with a blue feathered tail flew in, carrying a dead dear in her claws.

"And that's your mom," I said, as the young Griffins happily tore into the meat. Minbor made a grunting sound in his throat and sighed wistfully. "You miss them," I said to him.

He glared at me, then his eyes softened and he squawked. "Yeah, that's what I thought," I said to him.

The image spun around again and we are in front of the cave, on a day of a bad storm. Minbor's gaze turned stormy as he stared into the cave, clearly remembering something horrible. He grabbed me with his claws and flew through the storm, we flew inside a forest, in front of us is the family of Griffins.

They're all crouched around something small. Minbor hovered above them and we both glanced down, the white griffin, Minbor's sister is laying on the ground, covered with blood and still whining. "What happened to her?" I asked Minbor. He looked up and saw 2 grey Griffins fighting a midnight blue griffin. "He attacked her!" I exclaimed. Minbor nodded sadly.

"Oh, I wish that we can help her. I wish I can heal her," I sighed sadly. Minbor flew up, and didn't stop till we're higher than the mountains and dove down with a shriek. A flash of lightning lite up the sky, blinding me. I heard a crack of thunder and then silence.

I'm back at Cloaked Haven. "Wow... that was... wild" I breathed, looking up at Minbor. He ruffled his feathers and took off to fly around the arena again.

"What do you feel?" Selia asked.

"I- feel weird, all tingly I guess," I replied.

"You know what to do," She said.

"Do I?" I questioned. Selia just shrugged and stepped back.

"Give me your hand," I suddenly said to her. She held out her hand to me, my friends watched with amazement, I touched her hand and shuddered. "You have a sprained ankle and a headache," I said.

"You can sense injuries," Selia said to me.

"I might be able to heal them," I said, she nodded and sat down, I touched her ankle and felt strange energy coming from my fingertips.

"Wow, you healed it," Selia said, putting weight on her foot.

"I did?! Oh! I did!" I exclaimed. "But somehow, I know that I can't heal major injuries," I said to her.

"I understand. Sirena, you're going next, Lionark, put Minbor in dormant state," Selia said quickly, "And, thank you,"

‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙

Sirena's POV.

I summoned Ezera. She stretched and sat down to groom herself.

"Ezera, we're trying to discover the talent you have given me. And quickly, there might be people after us," I say to the winged cat.

She instantly perks up and listens. I held out my hand, and she held out her paw. We made contact and when we did, it looked like the room was falling apart. First, the walls disappeared, then my friends, and lastly the floor. But Ezera stayed with me. A blinding flash of light lite up the room, er... empty space that I'm somehow floating in, forcing me to close my eyes.

I opened them again to see Ezera. And a familiar room. "It's a memory," I said to Ezera as I watched 5 years old me and my 8-year-old sister play in the ballroom. "Look Ezera, we're playing Water Swift. It's when we cover the ballroom floor with water and have a water ball fight. But we can create shields and stuff. Each time you hit the other person, you get 1 point, but if you get hit, you lose a point. Oh, how I miss those days." I sighed. Ezera nudged me. The floor suddenly disappeared, I screamed as I fell down.

Suddenly, we landed inside a cave. A silver winged tiger walked in, the tiger has gold stripes and eyes and soft gold and silver wings, followed by a midnight black tiger with light-blue stripes and eyes and black feathered wings. 3 winged tiger cubs came running towards them from the back of the cave. the largest cub is grey with red stripes, wings that are grey and red, and dusty blue eyes. The middle-sized tiger has light blue colored fur with purple stripes and violet eyes, the wings are mostly blue with hints of purple. The smallest tiger is snowy white with black stripes. The tiger's wings are also black and white, but her eyes are a beautiful blue color.

"Are those your siblings and parents?" I asked Ezera. She nodded, her eyes never leaving the happy family.

"Which one is your mother?" I asked as she leaned against me, almost making me fall over.

Ezera walked towards the black and blue tiger. "That's your mother?" I asked, she looked at me and nodded. "And your father is the silver tiger," I concluded.

"Which one's your brother?" I asked her. She nodded at the grey tiger. "The blue one is your sister, and you're the white one," I settled. She nodded and licked my hand.

"It's so cool to see your memory," I said to her. She looked at me and then looked back wistfully at the family of tigers. Aww, you were so cute!" I said as I watched the cub version of Ezera try to leap onto her mother's back. The memory faded away, causing us to fall.

We landed inside the royal garden. I can see Waterfall walking towards the Hippocampi stables. "Why is she going there? She's never been fond of animals, well, except for her partner." I told Ezera, who just replied with a grunt. "Waterfall looks like she's around... 13, so that would make me 10," I concluded as we hurried to follow her.

"Sirena!" My sister snapped as she strutted into the stables. I walked in after her and saw 10-year-old me petting and feeding the hippocampi. "Sirena! Ew, how could you touch these disgusting creatures?" She asked me.

"They aren't disgusting!" I exclaimed. "They're friends!"

"Why aren't you more like me? You're never going to be a real princess if you keep on playing with commoners," She remarked.

"I don't care!" My past self replied angrily.

"Well, you should!" Waterfall shot back, "You're always in the way! You're nothing! Nothing! I won't care if you die or run away! Actually, go ahead! It'll make my life so much better!" she shouted.

I didn't reply and continued to stroke the blue hippocampi. Waterfall huffed and turned on her heels, storming out. I watched her march out and sighed. Ezera nudged my hand and I smiled at her turning my attention back to 10 years old me.

"I remember this, I tried to run away this night. But a guard found me. This is the day that she started to be... more like a stranger to me," I said to her. Ezera licked my hand, causing me to crack a smile.

"I wish I can be a horse, like you," I hear my past self say "Then I can swim through the ocean and be free. Or be one of the cats, were they run where ever they want."

After that sentence, the scene disappeared into a mist. And was blown away by a strong gust of wind. And we're back in the arena again.

"That was... very interesting," I said to Ezera, who nodded.

"Sirena, quickly, we don't have much time," Selia said.

I nodded and closed my eyes. I felt some power, a different power. I opened my eyes and looked up to see my friends staring back at me. "HOW DID YOU GUYS GET SO BIG??!!!" I yelled.

"Wait, I'M A BIRD!" I shrieked in surprise. Ezera gazed down at me.

"You're a shapeshifter, Sirena," Selia exclaimed.

I shifted into a winged tiger, like Ezera. Except I look like her mother, black with blue stripes. "Hey!!! Can you understand me?" I asked Ezera.

"WHAT!!!???" Ezera exclaimed, "When I gave you this talent, I didn't think you'll be able to understand the creature you shift into!"

"THIS IS SO COOL!!!" I exclaimed.

"Can you understand me?" I asked my human friends.

Breezie quickly replied "Only when you're talking to us, when you're talking to no one, yourself or to Ezera we can't understand you," I just stared back at them in surprise.

"And it looked so cool!!!!!!!" Breezie exclaimed, she made an illusion of me, then suddenly I turned into a fog. The fog made the shape of what I wanted to be and I was there as a tiger. It all happened in less than a second.

"Cool!" I exclaimed and shifted back into my original form. "Goodbye Ezera," I said, stroking her head and put her into passive state.

"Coal!!! Quickly!" Selia said.

‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙

Coal's POV.

I nodded and glanced around the room. Sirena shifted into a tiger again and laid down next to Breezie who leaned against her. Sirena decided to take a nap because waiting is boring. Well, that's what I think, I don't know about her. And I think she saw something that she didn't like, and Breezie, something about them is... off. Lionark seems okay, I guess.

I called Sactom out and he somehow figured out what we're doing by glancing around the room. Do the animals have some sort of way to communicate when they're in passive state???!!! Because I don't think my partner is that smart...

Sactom touched his nose to my forehead. My vision tunneled and we're teleported into one of my past classrooms. Sactom next to me.

I scanned the classroom and saw a 10-year-old me. "Okay kids, we're going to learn how to create blue fire," The teacher said.

"This is when I learned how to create blue fire!" I exclaimed. Sactom rolled his eyes and grunted like "Yeah, I know that".

I watched as my past self stared at my hand while the flame upon it sparked and flickered. It went out and then returned into a bigger, brighter, and as a blue flame.

"Teacher! I DID IT!!!" My past self exclaimed.

"Good job Coal!" She said, then left to go help another student.

The image swirled and we landed inside a mighty volcano.

Sactom roared happily and skipped towards a giant pile of rocks. I climbed onto the rocks and peered down. Inside, are 3 giant red and orange eggs, well eggshells. There are 3 young dragons wrestling inside. Sactom and I watched as a smoky black dragon lept onto an orange dragon, and a red dragon clawed his way into the game.

A roar filled the hot volcano and a golden dragon flew down. She bent down to greet her children. "Your mother?" I asked Sactom.

He nodded, his eyes still watching the happy family.

We were soon teleported into a different scene. We're still in the same volcano, but now, it's night time. I looked at the magma that surrounds the nest. "Cool," I said as it exploded and burst.

But the dragons weren't bothered by the heat or the lava.

I looked back into the nest and saw all the dragons curled up together. Sactom looked on fondly. With love in his eyes.

"You miss them," I said to him.

But he just snorted and shook his head. Denying it.

I raised my eyebrows but didn't say anything about it and turned back to the heart-warming scene.

"Awww, look at you! You look like your running in your sleep!" I said, pointing at baby Sactom as he twitched and tried to run.

"I wonder what you're dreaming about," I wondered.

Sactom just shrugged and shifted as the scene twirled away, leaving us back at the arena.

"He's back," Lionark said,

"I'm aware of that," Selia replied.

I closed my eyes as my vision tunneled again. Now, I'm somewhere else, but Sactom isn't with me. I looked around and saw Breezie standing in front of a fountain with 2 older girls.

"Hey Breezie," I said,

"How are you here!" She exclaimed.

"Um, how are you here?" I asked her.

"I'm here because this is my dream! And these are my sisters," She said motioning towards the other girls.

They didn't even acknowledge my existence.

Suddenly the scene started to flicker like a broken tv screen. (They don't have TVs I just didn't know how to describe it)

"What's happening!?" I yelled.

"I'm waking up," Breezie calmly said and disappeared.

I found myself laying on the arena ground. "What!" I yelled and glanced around me. "I can travel into people's dreams!" I explained to Selia.

"How do you know?" Lionark asked curiously.

"Because he has entered and left my dream," Breezie explained rubbing her eyes, "It scared me."

Sirena snorted and said "No wonder your heart started racing,"

"Thanks, Sactom," I whispered and hugged the giant lizard.

He grunted in response and willingly returned into dormant state.

We all turned towards the door as running footsteps can be heard. An ice element man burst into the room, he's wearing a light-colored dusty grey cloak. As the door swung closed we can hear yelling and a sound of metal hitting metal, like 2 swords clashing.

"You must run!" He yelled "Soldiers from the Century War have been sent here to take you! They claim that you're dangerous and must be killed!" he panted.
