CHAPTER 4

At an unknown location, a girl with red hair and yellow eyes heals an unconscious Lee, using yellow Ki.

"This guy's aura is strange. Both light and free flowing, yet heavy and overwhelming." She says.

She then notices the necklace around his neck. She slowly reaches for it, but Lee quickly wakes up and grabs her hand, surprising the girl. Lee looks around, not knowing where he is.

"Where am I? Where's Dayeon?" Lee asks.

The girl tries to calm him down.

"Relax, alright? You're safe and your friend is safe. Just take it easy."

Lee pauses for a moment, slowly letting her go.

"Sorry about that." Lee says.

The girl then continues to heal him.

"No worries."

She soon finishes healing Lee.

"Ok, all done."

Lee sits up, feeling amazing.

"Wow, I feel great. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it." Lee says with a genuine smile.

The girl blushes for a moment, then turns away from him.

"Whatever." She says.

Lee looks around where he is.

"So this must be the Demon Hunters HQ, right?"

The girl is shocked by how Lee could possibly know this.

"How do you- know that?"

Lee smiles.

"My Grandpa told me about this place all the time. I kinda thought it would look different though." Lee says.

He then looks over and smiles at his jacket being repaired.

"Hey, my jacket. Did you patch it up?" Lee asks, picking up the jacket.

The red headed girl brushes her behind her ear and turns away from him.

"Yeah, well- They told me that it was your favorite jacket- so I figured it would be a good idea."

Lee then puts his jacket on and quickly hugs the girl, surprising her.

"Thank you so much, I really owe you one."

This causes her whole face to turn red. At that moment Seokju opens the door and enters the room.

"Oh, you're awake. And you've met Kira."

Lee looks over and sees Seokju, recognizing him from last night.

"Hey, you're the one from last night."

Lee then let's go of Kira and bows.

"Thank you. You and those other two Hunters kept Dayeon alive, so I appreciate it."

Seokju smirks.

"Nah, don't mention it. We would have had our asses kicked if you didn't show up like a badass. So we're even if you ask me."

Lee smiles rubbing the back of his head.

"Names Seokju Sin." He says, offering him a fist bump.

Lee accepts the fist bump

"Lee Ijin."

"I can tell you and I are gonna be friends. Come on, The Captain wants to meet you."

"Oh ok."

Lee turns back to Kira who is frozen in place from the hug from him.

"Thanks for everything again, Kira. I hope we see each other again."

As Lee and Seokju leaves the room, as Kira's face turns even more red.

Seokju and Lee start walking through Head Quarters, with Lee being amazed by how amazing this place is.

"Demon Hunters HQ. Where Demon Hunters live, eat, heal, train, and pretty much do everything they need to in order to get back out there and fight Demons."

"Woah. This place is way more amazing than Grandpa said."

Lee then looks over and sees three little kids staring at him.

"That's him. That's one of the outsiders that were brought in last night." A little girl whispers.

"I heard he's really strong. Maybe even as strong as the four pillars." Another little girl says.

A little boy that's with them scoffs.

"He doesn't look that tough."

"You don't think so?" Voice asks next to him.

"Yeah. I could kick his butt." The boy says with an arrogant smile.

At that moment the three kids look confused, not knowing who said that. They all look over and sees Lee kneeling down beside him with a kind smile on his face. The three kids scream out in fear and run away. Lee chuckles and continues to follow Seokju.

"Hey, where's your two friends from last night?" Lee asks.

"Well Mikey is waiting near The Captain's tower. But Mira is pretty pissed about losing last night, so she's somewhere training."

They soon make it the Captain's Tower, the largest tower in Demon Hunter HQ. They walk in and see Mikey, four other Demon Hunters known as the Four Pillars and the Captain of all Demon Hunters, Mujin Ko.

"Oh, he's finally here." A man with red hair, named Jitae Park, says.

A woman, named Jiho Yu, with black hair and glasses smirks.

"So this is the guy who has incredible natural strength like me. The hell took you two so long?" She says.

A woman with pink hair, named Yeona Sin.

"Well he was following my baby brother, so it's understandable that he's late." She says with a bright smile, embarrassing Seokju.

A man with white hair, named Gijeok Jang, doesn't say anything while staring at Lee.

Lee smiles then bows graciously.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all."

The Pillars are suprised by this, three of them laugh while Jang smiles.

"This kids got impeccable manners." Yeona Sin says.

Jiho Yu smirks.

"Yeah, very polite." She says.

Mujin Ko smiles.

"Son, please. Step forward, my boy." He says.

Lee is confused a bit but does walk forward towards Mujin's desk. At that moment, Mujin suddenly appears right next to Lee, surprising him.

"So fast... I didn't even see him move." Lee thinks to himself.

Mujin then takes a long look at him.

"Seems that Monroe raised you right. Both as a warrior, and as a person."

Lee smiles.

"You and my grandpa were friends a long time ago. Right old man?" Lee says.

Everyone gets upset.

"SHOW SO RESPECT! DON'T CALL THE CAPTAIN AN OLD MAN!" They all yell.

Mujin smiles.

"Yes that's right. I knew your grandfather since we were kids. How is that old fool?"

Lee slowly remembers what happened before he fought the Demon and looks sad.

"I'm- sorry. He passed away yesterday, a few hours before the fight started."

Captain Ko and the Pillars are saddened to hear this. Mujin then puts his hand on Lee's shoulder.

"I see... I am deeply sorry to hear that. He was a good man. And an incredible friend."

Lee smiles as Captain Ko sits back down.

"So, I guess you'll be needing a uniform if you're going to be a licensed Demon Hunter. And a place to stay here at HQ." Ko says.

"Oh I don't want to be a Demon Hunter."

Everyone in the room is shocked when Lee says this.

"But- this is an amazing opportunity. No one can just join the Demon Hunters just like that." Jitae Park says.

"Yeah, what the hells up with you? You're just gonna quit fighting Demons? Did you loose your nerve all of a sudden?" Jiho Yu says.

"Oh I'm still gonna fight Demons." Lee says.

Everyone is then confused.

"I made a promise to my Grandpa that I would protect others in need. And I'll keep that promise, no matter what. If I die doing that, then I die. I also promised that I would walk my own path, and I want keep going to school. Can't really do that, if I join you guys." Lee says.

Most of the Pillars are still confused while Gijeok Jang and Captain Ko smile.

"Alright. I understand completely. But I hope you don't mind me sending Mikey, Seokju, and Mira to check on you." Captain Ko says.

Lee chuckles.

"Of course not." He says, as he walks away.

After Lee leaves, Yeona Sin approaches Monroe.

"Sir, are you sure it's a good idea to leave the boy unchecked? He is pretty strong. Maybe just as strong as us."

Mujin smiles.

"I trust Monroe. Therefore I trust that boy." Mujin says.

Yeona smirks and nods.

Later, after Lee takes Dayeon home, Mikey and Seokju goes to meet Mira and tells her about the meeting.

"What!?" Mira yells out of anger.

She then punches a hole in the wall.

"That idiot passed up an opportunity like that. What the hells wrong with him?"

Mikey chuckles.

"He's definitely one of kind. I don't think we have anything to worry about from him."

Seokju leans back with smirk.

"I like him. Guy marches to the beat of his own drum." Seokju says.

Mira scoffs, secretly liking Lee too.

Meanwhile, Lee meditates alone in his house, channeling his Aura. He then stops for a moment and looks back at a window, thinking he sensed someone outside. After a few more moments of staring, he continues his meditation. A woman outside then starts to walk away, but is met by Mujin Ko.

"You know- you don't have to spy on your own son." Mujin says.

The woman sighs.

"It's been awhile, Mujin." She says.

"It has. You know- Dangerous threats are going to come after him. Demons- and Demon Hunters. He needs you."

The woman stares through the window at Lee for a moment.

"Take care of him, Mujin. Now that Monroe is gone- he'll need someone to watch over him."

The woman then disappears as Mujin sighs.

"That's what I was going to tell you." He says.
